Bun Cafe

I recalled reading a while back about how delicious the buns are at Bun Cafe, so I decided to swing through while waiting for a food order nearby. I was happily greeted by the man behind the counter. After observing the menu, which included not just buns, but ice cream, smoothies , bubble tea and some sandwiches and salads, I approached the counter. I said, "Since it's Buns Cafe, I should try your buns, right??" And he happily obliged... they have regular sized ones and mini ones... which honestly don't look all that small, and you can get 3 for $5 (or the regular sized one for $4). The frosting was thick on it too! The man asked me if I wanted it heated, and how could I say no? I went to sit down and I dug into it. Phenomenal. It melted in my mouth, the temperature was perfect, and I really liked the flavor of the frosting. It was more than just vanilla. I don't know exactly what it was, but I would go back just for that bun... and now I'm excited to explore their other options! Who knew such a gem was so close to home???

I dropped my better half off at IKEA and had a few hours to explore so I followed Yelp! to this bakery. It's more like cinnamon bun heaven that also carries sandwiches, salads, smoothies and boba tea drinks. It's located inside the mall right across from the TJMaxx main indoor entrance. Looks like it's family run.

Finally made it here over the weekend. This place is located inside Beltway Plaza but it's easy to get to through the TJ Maxx entrance. Honestly, the only thing I didn't like about Bun Cafe was the location. I really wish it wasn't inside a mall(And it's not because I've been avoiding malls since I was no longer a teen) because there was a continuous confrontation between a mall employee (manager) and someone else. Besides that, the customer service was great. I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap based on a Yelp recommendation and I wasn't disappointed. The wrap was really good. I also ordered the cinnamon bun. The flavors were good but the texture reminded me more of bread than a cinnamon roll. I had a strawberry mango smoothie as well that didn't make it home. I drunk the whole thing before I even got out of Greenbelt. It was so delicious. Overall, if I'm in the area, I would give it another try.

Ima have to take y'all word for it. Opening time on Yelp said 9am. I came shortly before 11am and it wasn't opened yet. A women was sitting in front who informed me that they opened at 11. I opted to wait the few minutes until opening. However she seemed annoyed that I was there and stated something to the effect of "I set up first and then do pick up orders". I wasn't sure what she meant because I wasn't there to pick up anything. I just wanted to see a menu while she opened up so that I could order. Needless to say I left after a few minutes of her refusing to acknowledge me and went to old faithful chipotle. Will try another time and update if needed.

I finally tried Bun Cafe's much talked about Cinnamon Bun and it was #goot, warm, moist, and All Of It too!! #GootTreats

This Pina colada smoothie was the best I've had in a while ! The service was above and beyond and my Cinnabon was heavenly!

Not you average cinnamon bun! Very soft bun and a warm, melted glaze topped it off. Just wish I got the regular size bun instead of the mini bun. Yummy!

Chicken Caesar Wrap was good however the cinnamon roll was not all that. It was not worth the hype I didn't even finish it.

My boyfriend and I went here yesterday and received really great customer service. The smoothies are made with real fruit and the gentleman who we believe is the owner made sure we liked everything and was more than happy to remake it even though we loved them. He brought our stuff out to us and didn't rush us to pay because he noticed we were sitting down there. Great place to stop by and will definitely be back.
