Bullfrog Bagels - Western Market

Great selection of bagels to choose from and with decent prices. I enjoy these bagels.Service is nice. It can get crowded depending on time of day. Has seating.

As a New Yorker, nobody has better bagels than New York itself lol BUT, there are a few stores in DC that offer impressive bagels-this is one of them! My go-to favorites are their blueberry, whole wheat, or everything bagels. Fresh! Fluffy and filling. Pair it with their lox and cream cheese OR the lox BLT and you're on your way to goodness. Order ahead because the in-person wait time can be extremely long.

Great location in Eastern Market area, but the order and pick up area is compact and the wait can be long. They always have plenty of staff on hand, but they appear to get quite a bit of delivery business that maybe contributes to the delay in individual in person orders. I have only had the bagel breakfast sandwiches here and they hit the spot if you have the craving. Although, I have had better in relation to taste and value at a few competitors that are all within roughly a mile away.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experiences at Bullfrog Bagels in Western Market while I stayed in DC recently. Being that I was working within the 2000 Penn building that is connected through the lobby level of Western Market, Bullfrog was the obvious choice for breakfast in the morning.The Salmon BLT was magical with the salmon, bacon, tomato, and cream cheese on a toasted sesame bagel, while the standard Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on a toasted pumpernickel was delightful especially with the melted cheese and bacon. The bagels were wonderfully made and distinctive, made with a lot of craft and care. The nitro cold brew was also very good and served a great pick me up in the morning.The indoor area where you order is very warm and comfortable and the turnaround time is quite fast. You have to eat at one of the tables in Western Market but there are plenty near the Bullfrog entrance. Definitely a great go-to bagel breakfast spot.

I tried this place while in Foggy Bottom today with my regular new shop order - a simple bagel with plain cream cheese. I will not return, as there are many other better bagel options (including Call Your Mother and even Dunkin or Panera; oh, how I miss K Street Bagel). The bagel was flat, grainy, not chewy, not flavorful - really, pretty bad as bagels go. I would recommend going another few stops on the train to Courthouse and going to Brooklyn Bagel for the best I've had in the area. Picture below after eating some of it.

I recently went to Bullfrog Bagels to get a pastrami and egg sandwich on an onion bagel to go (no cheese). I was able to get my bagel sandwich in under 10 minutes and enjoyed the sandwich. I especially liked the pastrami, which was the right level of moist and fatty, and there was a good amount of pastrami on the bagel. The egg was perfectly runny and the bagel was fresh and chewy on the inside.

Decent spot to grab a quick breakfast sandwich to go. We ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese with tomato and avocado; and a whitefish salad with bacon. Both hit the spot!We ordered online for pickup on a busy weekend morning and it did take awhile for our order to be ready, so be prepared for that. Employees were super nice. It is in a food hall so there are multiple options around, and some seating.

Reminds me a lot of Call Your Mother and Pearls Bagels. It has a good bagel taste, but is very small and could be squishier. The bagels are very fresh though! And they make their own smoked salmon! Being in Western Market, there's a decent amount of seating but no real ambience, so this is really a to-go spot

Pretty solid bagel joint in Foggy Bottom near GWUI got a simple sandwich, sausage on an everything bagel. It was tasty and came out quickly. I was pleasantly surprised to see they used link sausage as opposed to a patty.Will stop back if I'm in the area around breakfast time

I ordered two bagels, one had salmon and the other was a Reuben. As I started eating, I thought they were very average like I probably wouldn't order them again. But then I bit into a long bone. I couldn't finish my salmon bagel after that. I'm just too disgusted. I definitely will not be ordering from here again.
