$8 for a substantial breakfast bagel sandwich?! Sign me up. The bagel was toasted perfectly and wasn't dense. I probably would try the bacon one next time since I wasn't the biggest fan of the sausage. It was super cute to sit at the counter. Service was fast and great too.

A solid if unspectacular Jewish-style deli. I recently went here for lunch with a friend to check Buffalo and Bergen out. Buffalo and Bergen is small inside, with room for 15 people max to sit. It is also loud, compounded by music, and hard to have a conversation without raised voices. I ordered the pastrami sandwich and matza ball soup and split a potato knish with butter and parsley. All of the food was delivered to our table in a timely manner.I was underwhelmed by everything I ordered. The matza ball soup needed more flavor-I could not taste any chicken in the stock or duck fat in the matza balls. The lemongrass stock combined with the lemon slices overwhelmed anything else I might have tasted. The matza balls were a nice size and classic "sinkers" (very dense). The potato knish tasted like it came out of a package (even if it was house-made), and needed more onion flavor. The parsley and butter did not add to the knish. The pastrami portion size for the price ($19.50) was a bit on the small side. The pastrami needed a bit more fat and the coleslaw would have been better served on the side. However, I enjoyed and appreciated the deli mustard and pickle on the side.

As someone who grew up on Connecticut and New York bagels finding a good bagel in DC has been a challenge. A friend recommended Buffalo & Bergen and I'm so glad he did! The Rude Socialist is now my go-to bagel on the weekend (which is usually when I treat myself to a bagel for breakfast). In addition their latkas are amazing!! Cannot say enough about them. When my CT and NY friends came to town they all loved not only the names of the bagels but the bagels themselves. If you are from the Tristate or New England area and missing your bagel, this is the spot.

Friendly service, good food, and loved the hometown feel of this location. We came around 8:30am ona. Saturday morning, so maybe it's busier later - because I was wondering how they don't have a line out the door?! I enjoyed the breakfast wrap (before I learned they're pretty famous for their bagels). Husband had a breakfast bandit an loved it.

You must visit this amazing and delicious bagel shop. Everything looked mouthwatering and the options we chose were so good! The sandwiches are huge so if you want to try many then I'd say split a few with friends. So good!

I have loved this place, and my love has been rewarded. Where else can you forget a knish that you paid for, and then come back a week later, and they remembered. If you love this place, they will love you back - with knishes. And, to be complete, the ingredients and prep are always on point - always fresh.

Visited 8/2/24. Have to give a big shoutout for the service here. Everyone was attentive and they have some good options between ordering at an electronic kiosk, at a check out, or at the counter with a waiter. I got a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. While this wasn't the best breakfast sandwich on a bagel that I've had, it was still really solid. The place itself is super cute too with an old-school soda shop style countertop and lots of outdoor seating.

Charming retro diner vibes with counter seating inside and some tables outside. I stopped in for brunch with a group of five around 10:30am on a Sunday and it wasn't too crowded but it definitely picked up later in the morning. We tried a variety of bagel sandwiches and wraps and everything was delicious. I had the Breakfast Bandit which was everything a breakfast bagel should be. They apparently ship their bagels in fresh from NY!

This location of Buffalo & Bergen has always been a great experience for me. I normally do takeout since this place is located in a residential neighborhood and parking can be a challenge. They normally are consistent with their customer service and the quality of their bagel sandwiches. I love their breakfast bagel sandwiches, however, their cheesesteak bagel sandwich is absolutely delicious. They have outdoor seating which I've noticed people love and, seems to be a casual go-to spot for locals on weekends. Overall a great bagel sandwich experience. I will continue to visit because their food and customer service is exceptional. Give them a try.

Stumbled upon Buffalo & Bergen for the first time about an hour before close. What a find!! As a bagel snob from CT, these freshly made bagels are incredible. The staff made us feel so welcome and were beyond accommodating. We live in NoVA, but are already trying to plan our next trip!
