Brut Champagne and Wine Bar

They have a variety of wines and champagne. They average between 15-25 a glass. We found the bottle to be more cost affective because we each got almost 2 glasses each, Bottles range from 60-100+. The atmosphere was nice and cozy with high top tables and bar seating. We didn't have food but everything looked delicious based on what other costumers ordered. We ordered the Mai Sentito sparkling wine, which was very light, citrusy, and refreshing. I'm not a huge wine drinker but if you are this is a great place to come to try out wines from different areas. Would be perfect for date night. Accessibility: there is a step to get inside. Single stall bathroom. Tight fit and most tables are high tops.

I was doing some shopping on a gorgeous Saturday in Alexandria and decided to stop in Brut. It has been a long time since I've been here so was hoping for some good food and great bubbly. I was seated right away by the bartender/waitress. Another server came and took my drink order. They had the Field Day Strawberry Rose which was crisp and refreshing. The food choices looked interesting and I would have ordered food but never got the opportunity. My waiter walked by me multiple times after taking my order and never came back to check on me or ask if I wanted anything else. He did check on the patrons at the other tables. I hate to bring in racism if it's not warranted but it was not lost on me that I was the only Black patron in the restaurant and was ignored. The restaurant also was not busy. I was checking email in my phone for over an hour and only had one cider. The bartender/waitress came to check on me by this time and I just asked for my check. What a horrible experience this was. I know many people of color who don't patronize NoVa restaurants because they feel many of the establishments are racist. I sadly have to agree after this experience. I do not recommend Brut at all.

Came in for a quick drink with friends. The wine and charcuterie board was delicious. I love the darker feelings in the place.

Visited after coming across this place while stopping by the shop next door. Was pleasantly surprised to see the huge selection of wines available. Sat down at the bar and the staff was able to recommend a lovely champagne, which I had a glass of. Dustin and Nikki were a pleasure to chat with. The establishment was very cute. I will definitely be returning soon.

Best little hole in the wall wine bar in the dc area. The staff know their wines well. Great to sit and enjoy a glass with a friend or stop by to buy a bottle on the way to a dinner party

Brut is a cozy, off-King Street choice for a great selection of wines and snacks. While the space is small and it can get loud, the service is impeccable, and the food is surprisingly delectable ( I say surprisingly, because I have no idea where they could fit a kitchen.)

A nice hidden gem in Old Town, Alexandria! My waitress was super nice and offered great recommendation's on the small plates. The place was nice and quiet and had cozy, dim lighting. Perfect place for a solo date or regular date.

I absolutely love the cozy feel of this place. It gets crowded, but it's small and dark and warm. A great date place. The charcuterie boards are good, with pick 3 or pick 5 items options. I will definitely return.

My husband and I discovered Brut a few years ago while wandering around Old Town. It was such a find! My husband is European and had previously introduced me to raclette, so we were thrilled when we found a place in Virginia that served it! It's a very small wine bar, but the food is excellent and the service is even better. We live in California and visit family in Alexandria once or twice a year, so Brut has become our special date night destination during every visit. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Dustin, on our last visit. He is lovely and made us feel so welcome. Hospitality at its finest. We can't wait to come back again!

We met up with a group who stopped at Brut before going to a dinner to cerebrate a birthday. Everyone of us ordered a glass of wine, with some ordering a bottle. It wasn't long before we overheard disparaging comments from the staff, including the manager about the group. As soon as we were finished with our first glass of wine, the staff started issuing the tab bills. When one of the couples tried to order another glass of wine, they were told 'no'. To say the least, the staff/manager were very rude. Even before we were finished drinking our one glass of wine the tabs appeared before we could even order another. They certainly wouldn't get a congeniality award where I come from!! It would be best for anyone who would like a drink to go on down the street where an Irish flag flies outside an Irish bar who wholeheartedly welcomes you!!
