The finest supermarket in the National Capital Region. Here's why:1. Booze on Sundays is sold here. Wait a minute. Is it also sold in other supermarkets too? Maybe I'm having a Georgia Flashback.2. Sushi - and good sushi too.3. Gifford's ice cream.4. Miller High Life. The Champagne of Beers. Oh man, I can taste it now.all the other usual stuff and great service - along with fresh flowers.

I am blessed to have this market within three blocks of my house. Good fresh and sliced meats. Fruit/vege selection could be expanded. Beer and Wine in a pinch. More expensive and less selection than Safeway, but if I can get it at Brookville, that's where I am headed.

Just moved into this neighborhood and this has become my local convenience store. I am so glad! It is well stocked, has good opening hours and the service team is very friendly and efficient. They have a good selection of fruit and vegetables, wine, bread, and a very tasty deli counter selection. Moreover, parking is very easy and convenient (how many times do you get to write that in the DC area??)I'd say it was a little pricey, but for that you get the local convenience. Very happy to have these guys so close by.

This is the sort of neighborhood grocery many of us grew up patronizing, for the best reasons. They order cases of canned pumpkin for us (we have a very large dog and it's part of her diet.) They set it aside, and then give us a 10 percent discount, as well. They are not Whole Foods Market, but they don't need to be. Great to have them in Chevy Chase.

Lived right up the street for 4 years, and rarely a day went by when one of the kids or I didn't stop in to pick up fresh bread, milk, or some ingredient that I had forgotten. I love this place. They have almost everything you might need, even somewhat random items. Yes, it is more expensive than a chain grocery, but it is so worth it for the walkable convenience. Also, they provide notary services, which we used on several occasions. As others have noted, you can also get beer and wine.

The candy and sweets are cheap, but when it comes to the actual groceries, it can be pricey. But it is still easy and fast.

When my friend and I went there, btw we are teenagers, the guy there said "hey pretty girls" and he didn't scan our item, give us a receipt, or give us change back. Total rip-off and is that how an employee should adress two teenage girls? I think not.

The people behind the deli are useless and rude. They get visibly upset if they have to make more than one sandwich which they also won't make correctly. They will just give you whatever they feel like making. This isn't the first or second time this has happened. If you don't live here or aren't pressed for time, I would pass.

The place is always half empty, the selection and quality is like 7eleven. It is amazing how the place can survive financially and is still there. There is a lady from the store sitting in front sometimes, policing parking and yelling at people, taking smart phone picture of the cars parked, not sure she is the store manager, but granted she is very unfriendly and has nothing else to do in the store. The place needs a total change of management and structure, - and, I do not believe it is a family business, in which case I would be tolerant to everything cited. It rather seems like a place poorly managed, owned by someone who never shows up there, and people working inside totally not 'family' with the people managing it. Terrible place.
