I tried this place again. Noon on Friday, only four customers in there, and since I had the gall to sit down without checking in with the host (that was nowhere to be found) I had to listen to a lecture on why I should do that.C'mon guys, what's the big deal? I did not complain about waiting, I just walked in from the street and sat outside. Did not want to go inside just to start looking for the missing host...I don't get the need to add extra steps to have a burger on a local joint.

Decent neighborhood joint. It's always pleasant and lively, the bar area is spacious and able to accommodate a lot of people. When the weather is nice, the large patio is a great place to sit with kids. Really good Tuesday option where kids eat free, which is a rare offer. They generally have a nice selection of local and regional beers on tap, and the servers are great. The food is good, though some of it has a pre-prepped feel to it rather than something made on site. I have not had a bad experience there, it's more the difference between good and great.

This owner is non existent at this business This Sunday refers to two tables after the softball game of approximately six people each. Not a big crowd. All staff was nice but things were not going well and then about 20-25 other students came in after a spring cruise. Staff did their best but were unsupported by management obviously. The students didn't cause this problem but they all were talking about not being able to order a drink. Basically one bartender, a couple of bussers/runners, and a swamped kitchen. No servers anywhere. John Andrade was contacted by myself to ask about hosting a larger graduation party that we could count on better service and keep the event near campus. Well he's not ever there as staff told me and the manager not very helpful and too busy to talk.So they and John kept harassing me while I was on the phone calling me back instead of leaving it go . I was very busy with my work and when I would call back John was not present. I finally told them to leave me alone and we would make other reservations downtown and arrange transportation for guests.Wow this is his last failing restaurant in the DC area and he's going out in style. When I mentioned this to folks I got Covid excuses. It's 2024 people. Covid move to the right lane so the excuse bus can pass! We won't be entertain family and guests here again since there are better run establishments in the district.UpdateThe only reason this keeps growing is because John and his staff keep bothering me. After my initial phone call they kept calling back to save a large reservation booking and I kept asking for the non existent owner. Then yesterday within minutes of each other, I got a harassing text message from that area and a reaction to a different business review of mine from a one review (ghost) account based in Maryland by a "Pia V"!I've never threatened anyone and certainly did not say anything bad about his staff with the exception of his manager not having the time to talk to me after he called me. The staff here if you've read my review is not the problem. All were great to deal with even though mistakes were made! The problem here is an owner that won't support his staff and runs this place poorly. We don't ever plan on going again. He will probably have to start a Gofundme to pay his hard working staff like at his last failed restaurant. Leave me alone John and I will reciprocate.

Also received great and thoughtful consideration and service from Marcus. What a gem he is. Love the overall atmosphere too.

Went here for happy hour - great pretzels and nachos. Drinks were reasonably priced but there was not a huge selection..

I went here as a part of the city brews tour. It was the last stop but sadly the most disappointing. I wasn't sure why on a beautiful weekend afternoon the place was dead but I quickly figured it out. The beers were terrible and the food was even worse. Although we had pre reserved our meal the food took forever to come out. The portion sizes were not even kids size. Instead of being tricked into ordering another round of food we all decided to go elsewhere. Although the servers were nice, they were abysmally slow. We waited and waited and finally had to flag down someone to pay our bill and leave. Even our tour guide was frustrated. It felt like we were being taken hostage to order more. For an empty place, it's hard to believe. We couldn't even get enough service to pay to leave.

Friday happy hour gets PACKED here, so make sure you budget time to get here early if you have a big group. When the weather's warm, they've accommodated a big group on the spot, which is more than I'd expect! Happy hour deals are good, but plan to make it in before 4:30 on a Friday.

Wow! That loaded potato soup has been on my mind since I left, all of the flavors pair well together and it's very hearty. Our bartender was witty, charming and super helpful, she is another one of the reasons we'll return. Brookland Pint has a great setup, there's tons of patio space, as well as indoor seating. They have a wide variety of beers on tap and they also have a great liquor selection.

Just a beer review!!We loved this place. My partner had a blueberry cider and I had the no backsies wheat beer. Both really good and refreshing at a nice price. Will update with a food review!!

The food was amazing! My mother cleared her plate and if my stomach was so small, I would do the same. Those sweet potatoe fries were godly! Those service was immaculate. Our server, Marcus, (hope I'm spelling his name right) was super kind, engaging, well-informed, and just overall a great guy.We are in fact going again as I right this review. This time I'm trying the pulled pork sandwich!
