This place is awesome. I recommend it. Convenient, sandwiches are good, cool selection of gourmet products. Very nice and friendly management

I always have to pinch myself when I voyage to this neck of the woods and find that the adorable residential market is still in operation. Somehow, this tiny shop gets the best fresh muffins and bagels in the DC area, and has a fantastic selection of cheeses, produce, and goods both upscale and ordinary. There are always parents and kids enjoying pizza outside, and there's a homespun family feeling even as you purchase a gourmet chocolate bar. I love this place.

First opened as a market in 1919, Broad Brand Market remains a local institution. More than a general store, it's a community gathering spot. Open every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the little market has a lot from a deli section, a bakery that sells pastries and ice cream, and aisles full of wine from around the world, a spice section, and any basic household good you need. There are public restrooms by a shelf of free books. There's outdoor seating where neighbors gather, enjoying the store's ice cream.

I LOVE that there are still markets like this - and neighbors who support them. I could eat lunch here every day. Delicious, creative, made to order sandwiches; if there's a wait it's worth it and gives you time to browse through the novel and wide-ranging products on the shelves. But don't overlook the prepared salads, sides and entrees in the deli case - some very agreeable dishes here as well. The staff and customers are friendly and neighborly, just such a pleasant break from the brisk and impersonal supermarket experience. Go there often.

I live several blocks away from broad branch and go there fairly regularly to pick up dinner, lunch, or a cup of coffee.On the plus side, this is a local market with a surprisingly diverse and delicious range of food stuffs, good wine, and household items. If you're in a pinch for that milk or egg for your morning breakfast, they will generally have it. The staff is atrocious! They don't great anyone when they come in. It's practically impossible to order a sandwich and the store layout is terrible. Hire me... I can double your profits in six months.

So, the first time I went to the market was a week ago. I ordered two sandwiches. The lady at the register was amazing..My second time, two days ago was an awful experience. I ordered the same two sandwiches. However, when I returned to the car it wasn't the sandwiches I ordered. I immediately took my order back inside and let the RUDE guy at the register know. You would have thought I was committing a crime the way he was carrying on. I handed him the sandwiches and let him know these aren't what I ordered. He was rude, disrespectful and treated me like I was trying to get somethong over on him After, literally arguing with this disrespectful guy for over 5 minutes, I politely stated, just remake the sand. He told me to please be quiet so he could speak. At that point I said, just remake the sandwiches and do not speak to me that way. The guall!! I WILL NEVER RETURN. I'm not only writing review in YELP but any other website I can find.

Their prepared foods are great but the service is atrocious. I have never been in this place when they are properly staffed behind the deli. I have been a repeat customer because they make good sandwiches, but the wait and the attitude of most of the workers I've encountered there are just not worth the hassle anymore. I've given up on this place and will not be back.
