Coffee Shop No. 446Boulangerie ChristopheGeorgetown, DCNovember 4, 2024Desserts, baguettes cortados OH my what a cafe!An unexpected coffee stop while out to lunch with friends landed us in this bright lit cafe. Boulangerie Christophe is in a perfect location to watch folks as they stroll down Wisconsin Avenue. The smell of baked goods draws you in. It's a busy place with many ladies behind the counter, but I definitely enjoyed my interactions with the staff. They were friendly and answered all my questions. The cafe uses LaVazza Coffee and they know what they are doing when it comes to espresso drinks. My cortado was delicious. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

Nearly everyday since February 11, 2024 when I was here - I've thought about how good the mushroom quiche I had at Boulangerie Christophe was. Ok, that might be a bit of exaggeration. It's probably more like 75% of days. It was that good though. In the immortal words of Ja'mie, it was "so quiche."I also tried something sweet there... but I can't even remember what it was. It was overtaken in memory by the quiche. I think the quiche might have had creme fraiche ... and/or cream cheese in it. It was pretty rich. One thing that is pretty cool about this location is that there is a like a bad covered patio portion of the bakery. It's almost like a little secret hidden oasis with plenty of tables and chairs that's like half outside. Does anyone want to go get quiche with me?

French feeling with attitude to match. Great croissants, very expensive bread($9 but made with imported wheat?)Omelette ok but not much volume ( French proportion?) but egg Benedict spot on. Coffee as good as it gets in large mug. Worth a visit for pastry and coffee. Large back garden area with covered area and out front seating as well as adequate inside seating. Lots of French speakers abound. Try it( that's not speaking French of course)

Had the most delicious pastries here while on a recent trip to DC. Their Paris-Breste was absolutely incredible and the chocolate eclair was to die for. I am so glad I stopped by.

The pistachio raspberry tart was phenomenal. The omelette was pretty good but not groundbreaking. Food unrelated but they actually gave me the wrong omelette and were a bit rude. I'd come back for the baked goods but not for breakfast.

We had a few things of the menu, including the attached. This bakery bakes for aesthetics instead of taste. Everything we ate was either stale or just... bad. Which is unfortunate because how can you have so many things look phenomenal and yet have it taste like cardboard? 2 stars only cause the ladies running the front were lovely

This bakery was a good size! There were dine-in seating options and there was a large display case (I didn't get a picture, sorry!) full of sweets and savories, including baguette sandwiches, ratatouille, quiches, potato gratin, and more. The woman helping me was frankly amazing. I wanted a lot of items and wasn't confident in my pronunciation, but she was attentive and quick. She said the pain suisse was better than the apricot croissant so I got that instead.1. Butter croissant 5/52. Pain suisse - croissant filled with chocolate chips and vanilla pastry cream 5/53. Millefeuille - puff pastry with vanilla pastry cream decorated with a layer of fondant 3/54. Praline Paris Brest - pate à choux with praline crème mousseline 4/55. Pistachio/raspberry - an entremet of pistachio mousse, raspberry gelée, pistachio cake 2/56. Sourdough 5/5The croissants and sourdough were fabulous. My fiancé began a sourdough starter not long after finishing the loaf. He didn't give me a bite of his butter croissant (bummer), but he loved it. I put the pain suisse in the microwave for about 5-10 seconds and was in heaven. The chocolate melted and it wasn't too sweet. I wish I ordered 10 more. The pastry cream, crème mousseline, and mousse were very smooth and I appreciated that the mirror glaze on the entremet was very thin.Unfortunately the puff pastry was burnt and therefore the millefeuille was bitter. The pistachio/raspberry entremet didn't have very much flavor. The main flavor I tasted was the raspberry gelée, which had seeds in it.All of the patisserie is beautiful and it's clear the pâtissier has great technical skill. I definitely want to come back and try one of the sandwiches

Pastries were great! Longer wait than expected for coffee, but worth it! Wishing there were more seating options.

I ordered a pistachio chocolate cake. The chocolate was rich and the dessert very satisfying. However, I was left a tad bit disappointed because I didn't get any pistachio flavoring. I couldn't even say the taste was subtle. It may have been because the chocolate was so strong. The texture was very nice. I'd definitely try it again.

Boulangerie Christophe is such a gem in Georgetown! I went with my best friend, and we had the most amazing sandwich--perfectly crispy baguette and super fresh ingredients. The potatoes on the side were absolutely delicious. The whole place has a cozy, charming vibe, especially the backyard seating. If you're looking for a great spot for a casual but seriously good meal, I'd totally recommend it!
