Got the chance to try this food truck at Wheatland Spring today and glad we did! They had great veggie empanadas that were perfectly fried, crispy and crunchy on the outside, but tender and well cooked veggie medley inside (mushrooms, eggplant, onions, red peppers, zucchini, and yellow squash, all very finely diced and cooked in tomato sauce). It was one of the best vegetarian empanadas we've had. (Note: the pizza empanadas are vegetarian, too, and looked/smelled great.) We tried all the sauces with them and particularly loved the pique (peppery but not too hot) and the Mayo/ketchup blend (the mojo was good, too). I also got the Tripleta sandwich because I couldn't pass up the combo of skirt steak, roasted pork and ham. I'm also a sucker for any dish that incorporates chips, and the potato sticks on top here were too intriguing to pass up. This sandwich was huge and tasted and smelled great, full of well-seasoned and cooked meats and the crunch from the potato sticks. The bread held its own for awhile, but I definitely needed a fork to finish up (did I have one? No, but that didn't stop me because I'm not particularly classy.) Definitely worth checking this truck out!

This food truck was in town for a Latino festival. I ran into my sister at the event, who asked me if I wanted the rest of her food. I ate half of a single order of toston nachos. It was so delicious and I asked my sister where can I get more? Walked up to the food truck only to find out they ran out. I was so mad I couldn't have more because it was amazing! Im Puerto Rican, but I have never heard of Towson nachos before, omg it was so good! Definitely looking for this truck next time I'm in DC. I hope to see them again in my town.

Happy Hispanic month! No better way to celebrate than to try this food truck. We are loyal customers and highly recommend. The Cuban sandwich is just like Miami, the pork and rice is a favorite and the plantains the best. Get some and have it with a beer at their Thursday stop in Alexandria!

We got lucky this truck was parked at Lost Boy because we were super hungry. All you had to do was head to their site and place an order from your table and they'd let you know when it was ready for pickup by text. We ordered the grilled chicken toston nachos, a Cubano sandwich, and the Pernil plate. Only took about 15 minutes and we got our stuff. We got everything to share but each item was huge. I was able to save the Pernil for dinner the next day. Lots of rice and tender pork. Really fills you up if you're hungry. The toston nachos were really flavorful and also great to share. The tostones were perfectly fried and had a good crisp. The Cubano was great, crispy bread, lots of ham, pork and mustard, so satisfying.Definitely a go to truck if you're hungry, especially if it's parked at Lost Boy! Goes great with a couple of their ciders.

I love Borinquen Lunch Box. My friend says it's the best Puerto Rican food you will get in this area, as it is something that is noticeably missing from our diverse food scene. Their empanadas (pastelitos, really) are super crispy and delicious. I love the tostones with mojo sauce, which is super garlicky. The bacalao with rice and beans is huge and filling. The fish is super fresh and well-seasoned. You can pre-order pasteles during the holidays. I wish they came into DC more, but I try to catch them at Port City whenever I get a craving.

My wife and I were amazed about how good everything was: the tostones, the pizza and pollo empanadas and the pork pinchos were cooked to perfection even tough it was a lot of people (Alexandria Summer Music Festival).
