The spot kind of little but the food was excellent. The service was quick and staff professional. Late night venue near my hotel Washington Hilton within walking distance. The ambiance beautiful full of color and nice music. I'm not from DC but I plan to go back before I leave. I had spicy Lamb with Jasmin rice and a fried spinach with yogurt and chutney drizzle. My only con was that everyone with to go before me received a plate and silverware. I didn't and my hotel didn't have easy access to some at that hour.

Okay Indian food with slow service. We ordered a non-veggie thali platter as well as a veggie thali platter, just to get a little sample of everything on the menu. Despite the restaurant being basically empty at noon on a weekday, it took 20+ minutes for anything to come out. I also had to walk over and personally request the check and drop it back off to the waiter at his little front desk, who was standing around looking bored. In terms of the food - nothing really stands out, it was all okay but nothing was really memorable. The yogurt, dessert ball, and giant pile of rice were a waste of space, while the curries and veggie sides were middling. I assume that the main Bombay location is better, so maybe I will try that one next time.

We called ahead on a Friday night to check about seating 9 people and they were open to it - we got seated right away and it got busy basically right after we sat down. Service was quick and helpful (always had filled waters, open to modifications like no butter). The highlights were the apps (Gobi Manchurian, Chicken 65, pav bhaji). Food was all very solid (not out of this world, but as good as you would expect for a casual sit down). The breads (naan, roti, onion kulcha) were just okay. Overall excellent combo of food quality, quantity, and price, with good service and surprisingly roomy on a Friday night.

This outpost of the seemingly ubiquitous DC restaurant Bombay Street Food offers a variety of solid Indian snacks and meals at decent prices, especially for the area. I've come here twice for post dinner, late night food and haven't really been disappointed. The best thing I've had here is the tandoori chicken; the chicken was tender, fresh, and delightful. I ordered the samosa chaat as well and that was just ok; the samosa was hard to discern amidst the sea of channa (chickpeas). I made up for this by getting just samosas next time which were definitely solid. I also got the chili chicken. The chili chicken was good, if not very spicy, but the reliance on food coloring was a little much. One consistent part of the takeout experience here is that the worker who coordinates pick ups and payment is a little brusque. It doesn't detract from the experience but try to get there well before closing.

The food was great. Prices were good. Nice atmosphere outside. Right on 18th street but a bit mellower than the main strip. No frills, no fuss, bulls-hit. Good service. Friendly but not overbearing. Food was quite good. Nice vibe outside... no music or bright lights... perfect!!They also have big bottles of Taj Mahal beer, 20 ounce beers for 10 bucks. Pretty good for DC. Some other places around here get more fanfare--some with good reason--but this place can hold its own. Guys, just keep doing what you're doing!!Tom Birner, Washington DC

Because we very much like their home branch on Park Road in Columbia Heights, we were inspired to stop by for lunch after a brisk walk in the winter cold. We ordered three appetizers which provided twice as much food as we needed, so lots to take home for dinner. I ordered the Bombay Palak Chat and the Spicy Chicken 65. The palak was delicious and alone would have been enough for the two of us - spicy but not overwhelming for my wife. Spicy Chicken 65 a different story -- so spicy as to be at the edge of my tolerance, but I was glad to have it (beyond my wife). She had the bhel puri which she pronounced a tad bland --but I liked itRas Malai for dessert helped calm my tongue burning from spicy chickenI look forward to coming by again to try more of their menu. But one slightly off-putting thing: we were not asked to show our vaccination cards for entry. The reinstatement of this requirement is new so I overlooked that for today

We ordered a bunch things to try on a delivery service app and were overall happy with the food until it came time to eat desert. The mango mousse we received had mold on it and the date on the top was from Monday the (8/12) even though we ordered on Saturday (8/17). As far as I know most mousse last about three days so I don't know why they would sell this. Honestly this makes me question if the rest of the food we received is safe to eat and we're debating throwing out the other leftovers.

Food is amazing. Took our parents and wanted to customize and the chef did a fantastic job. One of the authentic paneer saag we had. Would greatly recommend this place.

Ugh Terrible quality! The food here was absolutely appalling. We ordered multiple dishes and each and every one was diluted and bland. Completely inedible food that we went to Wawa afterwards which was much better (that just shows you what a waste this place is). Pretty unprofessional staff as well. This restaurant is so focused on making quick money rather than good food and service and will likely end up closed one day. My friends and I will never return this place - it has become a joke for us now. Please save your money and go to any other Indian restaurant or even a Wawa!

I've been to the Bombay Street Food in Columbia Heights and this one is far better in my opinion. Every time I go it's a struggle to choose what to get because of the sheer amount of incredible food here. The Malai Kofta here is to die for!!! On top of all of that, the manager/owner has great recommendations and has given me desserts for free on several occasions. Highly highly recommend this location specifically!!!
