On our latest trip to Georgetown, we passed by Bistrot Lepic and wanted to give it a try. Since it was restaurant week they didn't show any available reservations online but when we called they said we could get a table as long as we could be done in an hour. I'm definitely glad we called because it was a great restaurant week value. The stair appetizer for me was the escargot. Great flavor! They give you thick fluffy bread at the beginning of the meal and it's great to dip in the sauce. My fave main was the potato cruses salmon. Nice crisp coating and a perfectly cooked inside. We all had the passion fruit chocolate cake to end the day. Great service and good food. If you are near Georgetown and want some French food this place is for you!

The best meal in 2024 so far. It feels like fancy homecoming. The service was fast (well trained). The ambience is appropriate, giving European flair. My duck was a perfect bland and it felt like could eat it every day for a long time. Perfect winter meal.Escargot, for the ones who like it (like sauna, people love it or hate it but a no middle) - it was absolutely perfect and I used all wonderful bread to scoop all garlic/basil sauce where escargot was baked in. I loved it.

Absolutely fantastic food.Although I lived in Paris, this prix fixe dinner is superior to anything I ate in France. I highly recommend. Friends and I tasted each others meals, and everything was phenomenal. Prix fixe on Wednesday night at the wine bar, $45

After my appointment at drybar for Christmas my bff and I were hungry and stumbled on this little yellow building. Unsure of what was awaiting us, a local walking by said "it's really good" and the rest was history! This place is definitely not typically within my budget... However, really not as bad as I expected. They offer complementary baskets of bread that come out warm with butter and a lovely menu with a very skilled chef. A plethora on wine options reneging from $9 a glass to $400 a bottle. I ordered a glass of rosé and my friend ordered a rum and Coke. My friend ordered the seafood salad- it came with salmon, the fresh catch of the day, (which happened to be trout) and some large butterflied shrimp. The dressing was very simple but lemony and delicious. I ordered the vegetable risotto which came with the perfect amount of Parmesan cheese and a mix of rainbow carrots, Brussels sprouts, and small onions perfectly cooked. The total ended up being $88 which divided by two actually didn't prove to be half as bad as the $$$ made it seem.Overall a very delicious meal prepared expertly! We were stuffed for several hours and amazed at the quality! Certainly worth a visit - they have plenty of heat lamps and a sidewalk side outdoor dining set up. Service was lovely- great date night idea or somewhere to treat yourself after an appointment!

Larger than it looks from the outside, this is a down to earth french restaurant. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. Before you make a decision on your meal, wait to hear what the specials -- we had a few at our table that made last-minute changes! We had a white Rhone wine that was delicious. The servings are tasty and ample. The upstairs Is a little quieter, although while lively, it id not overly noisy in any location

This place was alright, nothing really wrong but there's definitely more memorable options in the area if you're looking for French cuisine

Country French cuisine - loved the smell of food being cooked with butter from the kitchen. That heavy handed butter and lard usage is, in my opinion, what defines country French from modern French.I had pied de cochon which is pig feet. It was described as crusty but not because of the crispy skin (it had none) but because it was breaded and formed into a party. Served with a strong and overpowering onion mustard sauce, I wish the sauce was paired with the accompanying salad and not the feet. The feet itself tasted alright. Classic French and yet unrefined because the breading for the crust wasn't anything notable. The flat iron steak was small portioned during lunch but came glistening in a red wine sauce and it was delicious despite it being cooked a bit more than the requested medium rare. It came accompanied with fried eggs which were good eggs.Overall I liked this place but felt the prices should be lower and the kind of food served warrants this place to be a bit more dressed down casual than it portrays itself to be. I'm not sure if I would be back solely for the food with the many French places to choose from even though this one is one of the city's institutions having been open for more than 20 years. However I've heard that they had jazz nights upstairs and they do have specials now and then so I'll be keeping an eye out and possibly can be enticed to return soon.

Delicious food and attentive service. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed our brunch - Croque Madame was rich and flavorful. Hubs had a ham and gruyère omelette, which was similarly lovely. Will add this spot to our regular rotation for sure.

Some of the best French cuisine in DC. This restaurant remains one my favorites, despite Chefs overuse of garlic in the escargot. I love garlic- so much so that I cook with it every day. However, when garlic supersedes every single flavor in a dish, it's time to minimize the amount one uses. Despite my critique of this one dish, I highly recommend that you run and not walk to experience the flavors coming out of this kitchen. Kudos to the chef and staff!

We had a wonderful dinner May 16 at Lepic. I started with the endive salad, better than ever, while my wife had the terrine of salmon, which she loved. Then she went for the soft-shelled crab, done in a more Continental manner, but excellent, while I had the trout: superb. All with a 1er Cru Chablis. A+!We have been to Bistrot Lepic many times, but this was the best we recall!
