I highly recommend this place if you are staying at the hotel & don't want to drive anywhere. You will get overpriced food, but it won't be terrible. There is nothing special about the ambiance. It's a hotel bar. The service is friendly, but don't expect to be treated well for paying $20 for a ceasar salad. I have nothing negative to say, but also nothing special to say either. Eat here if you must & it'll be fine, but definitely don't go here if you're walking through downtown. Walk a few more blocks & find something better...

The place is right next to the hotel so you don't need to go out on a rainy day. They are a little short handed but the food is good and nice service.

After visiting the National Geographic Museum nearby, I visited Beacon Bar and Grill for some lunch. Beacon Bar and Grill is a restaurant in a boutique hotel, so there was plenty of space for diners with a cool vibe to it. Service was good. For lunch I ordered the burger, which was A-OK. Though it was half-pound and made with angus beef, I was surprised by the lack of flavor. I ordered it medium-rare, but it was slightly overcooked to my liking. It came with a side of fries, which were on the thicker side and were perfectly fried. All in all, my lunch here was fine, but nothing memorable or would have me visiting again when in the area. The menu has a good list of items for lunch; but for the price, it seems like coming here for happy hour is worthwhile.

There was a roach crawling on the wall next to our table! I was completely disgusted and immediately sick to my stomach (literally).. I informed the manager and instead of him comping our entire meal, he gave us 50% off, which to me is completely UNACCEPTABLE! If there is vermin in your establishment & your consumers are exposed to whatever it is, the consumer should NOT have to pay for ANYTHING & the establishment should be extremely apologetic! My friend and I reluctantly paid our bill & left! Where there is one there is more so I'll NEVER go here again. There are plenty of other brunch spots in the city, hopefully roach free!!!

My review is based on Sunday brunch:Beacon is the perfect brunch spot if you want to celebrate a Birthday, have a large group and want to be seen! Located on the first floor of the Beacon Hotel. The brunch buffet is pretty typical with mini waffles, chicken , rice , a fruit station, a dessert station, breakfast potatoes, plantains, rice, bacon, grits, and eggs. I'm not drinking and They still charge $59 a person (including tax and gratify ) which is very expensive of you aren't even having mimosas !!!! They didn't tell me that upfront so I was kinda shocked. They offered orange juice and cranberry juice for the mimosas. I wish there was a Dj because it could really be a brunch /day party vibe ! They certainly have the space.

I specifically set out to try BB&G Happy Hour & made it here with 5 mins to spare.Part of a boutique style hotel, the retro style bar area offers a colorful bar & red leather booths.Tiffany, our Bartender was generous with her service & casual social engagement. Standard HH menu offering food & drinks under $8 seven days a week, 4P-7P.Nestled in the Dupont neighborhood with street parking that's free on the weekends after 6P. To note, the restaurant has a two story lounge with an open air patio. A couple of blocks from the Farragut North Metro Station - Red Line. I'll definitely make my way back here, especially to visit the Sky Bar.

I haven't been here in years. The food and service used to be amazing. No longer. My latest visit I sat at the bar and was virtually ignored by the bartender even though there were only two other people at the bar. She spent the whole time talking with them and looking at things on each others' phones. I had to flag her down to get service and then again to get the bill. It was like I was invisible. But what really made me mad was that the restaurant automatically adds an 18% tip and then still includes a line on the credit card slip to add another tip. I'm sure plenty of people don't catch this, especially after a couple drinks. That's some sneaky shit, and that's the main reason I won't be back. Sad because my office is a block away and this place is super convenient for an after-work beverage. Luckily, there are plenty of other options in the neighborhood.

I was hosting the beacon hotel, attended with my family for the breakfast and the service was rude, so I decided not to tip with 18 % but with 15%. Waiter and manager forced me to change the amount of the tip claiming the system could not be changed and food was good. I work in service and I never have forced anyone to tip me, I prefer to earn it!!!!

Vwry expensive and mediocre food. Many better options within walking distance. Ordered eggs and sausage, no gluten free options.
