Deliciousness - 3/5Happiness - 4.5/5If you're looking for a fun spot for a drink and a nosh, Barrilito will suffice. I've got to admit that the food and drink were all just OK. The margaritas were unmemorable and the taco meat was a bit undercooked. I did like their salsa a lot and the tortillas were excellent. But overall, I wasn't impressed with the food and drink. I did love, however, the environment, wait staff, and decor. The fellow patrons were a lot of fun, the bar staff were friendly and quick to serve, the restaurant was squeaky clean and the decorations were top notch. People were singing along to Spanish tunes and I enjoyed myself greatly while I was there.

Food...bomb! Service...great! Ambiance....ok! Definitely would recommend others to check this place out!

If you're looking for a locally owned restaurant serving everything from authentic pupusas to legit MICHELADAS, this is your place. The most personable service, and a genuine feel of community (which is becoming harder and harder to find). Don't miss out on this gem on 14th-- you won't be disappointed !

Second time here. First time for tacos. They were awesome! I got a pollo, lengua, and carnitas. The meat was tasty, the portions were plentiful, and everything was super fresh. Service is speedy and friendly. Just a block up from Mezcaleria, Taco Habanero, and Little Havana, Barrilito would make a great alternative if you were trying to go to one of those new spots and are facing a long wait.

Perfect all around. Great food (everything was exceptional), great service, great drinks, great ambience.Highly recommended!

Delicious food, very reasonable prices, wonderful staff and atmosphere, ... did I mention the food was delicious? (Try the plantains!)

Barrilito has solid pupusas, tasty rice, and a good beer selection. The bouncer won't ask for your ID, but he will give men a nice security patdown. The staff are very prompt and welcoming, despite the fact that we were the only gringos here lol. Would recommend for night time snacks and beers.

I visited this spot because of DC Latino Restaurant Week. Since I moved to DC I was not been able to find a burrito that would transport me back to California minus the ticket price tag. Amazing food, great service, massive margaritas and now my favorite food in Petworth. It definitely does not get better than this, Cheers!

The only reason I'm giving them two stars is because their pupusas were actually great. The curtido was tasteless and the rest of the experience was pretty terrible. I asked the server twice if they had pupusas without cheese because of an allergy and she said that we would be fine. When the pupusas came out; they had cheese. When I asked for a correction, she said the chef doesn't make them without cheese. We wouldn't have bothered if they were upfront. Plus, they charged us $2.50 cents each for a glass of tap water. It wasn't clear up front that there would be a charge for that. I haven't been to another establishment in DC that charges for tap water so they could make an effort to be more clear.
