Came here for a quick girls night dinner and I loved the vibes. Service was quick and great. The ambiance was dim, good music, and lively. My one dislike about my experience is the size of the table. We were a group of three and it is a tapas and shareable style restaurant. Our food barely fit on our tiny little square table and everything was crammed. For the style food they serve, I think bigger tables are needed. I ordered the flank steak, whipped sheep cheese, and the spinach and chickpea cazuela. The flank steak was tender & cooked perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed the whipped sheep cheese as well. It pairs great with the bread. The spinach and chickpea cazuela was good but not great. I don't think I would order it again.

This location for Barcelona is in a quiet part of DC with a lot more parking than the busier area of DC. The service was super fast on a busy Friday night & our server, Gianna, was super sweet. Very accommodating for a table of 8. It was a night of first tapas for many of my friends, but for the price and dishes, they were super happy. We regretted going to the Wharf for desserts instead of the menu here shortly afterwards. The croquettes were a crowd pleaser and I didn't leave crying about the Paella price for quality here vs a previous review I did for Del Mar. Would definitely not mind coming back for special occasions in the future.

Do not come here super hungry or looking for a low-key dinner. It's always packed and the service is slow due to how packed it gets. The portions are small. However -pluses-the variety is great, the food is good albeit tiny portions, and the music is always a bop.

I love love love Barcelona! My boyfriend loves to come here a lot as well for happy hour and he frequently comes with his friends but this place is great for a date night as well. During happy hour between 4-6pm their bottles are 50% so we always grab one and the reymos is my favorite choice and it's chilled with a stone bowl that they use to place it in! The grilled chicken is perfect and not dried out, tastes fresh as well (we always get the chicken). The blanket is complimentary when you're sitting outside it's super soft and it kept my legs warm. No need to keep your jacket on either because they have outdoor heaters near all the tables outside and they're pretty close. The service is amazing and waiters frequently check in on you and of course you get complimentary water as well which is needed when you're drinking lol. I love Barcelona and I will be back again

While the food was delicious and the wine perfect, the service was highly lacking. The hostess told us about 30 minute wait, which we were happy to do, but when it turned into an hour and 25 we finally had to give up on a regular table because at that point we had just waited to long to go somewhere else. I understand they had reservations and were busy but it was inconsiderate to deceive us with that time table.

We are always down for a tapas restaurant. So on a sunny October weekend late afternoon we were lucky to quickly score outdoor Barcelona seating. Our hopes were high, especially since previously we had great experiences at Barcelona.Upon being seated with menus by a very nice and accommodating hostess, we did immediately notice that there were no waiters at any of the tables around us. Eventually, maybe 10 minutes later, we were acknowledged by a server. Unfortunately, that was the theme of the evening, minimal service. But in all fairness, the staff we interacted with were cordial. Since we wanted to order two more dishes and there was nobody to place the orders with so we packed it in for the night.Fortunately, the food was decent. We ordered bacon-wrapped figs, patatas bravas, pork belly, charred broccolinii and halibut a la plancha. And we did like that our food came out quickly. We loved the bacon wrapped figs. Highly recommended even if the blue cheese-dressing underneath the figs absolutely did not go with the figs. The pork belly with a bright golden yellow chili dressing was very good. The charred broccolini with a mild kinda peppery dressing was also good. The halibut in our last dish was good but we didn't at all like the flavor of the bitter olive tapenade that came with the fish. We didn't eat the tapenade.Oh, we did like the music being played at just the right volume. The menu has a lot of great options and the food is good enough that we would consider returning, but the lack of service gives us pause.

During my visit to Nova, my friends and I had the pleasure of dining at this lovely restaurant. We ordered a variety of dishes, including Patatas Bravas, paella, octopus, Brussels sprouts, jamón & manchego croquettes, and more. The Patatas Bravas are an absolute must-order. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, they're perfectly seasoned and paired with a rich, tangy sauce that adds just the right amount of kick. The paella was flavorful, packed with fresh ingredients, and had that deliciously crispy layer of socarrat at the bottom. The octopus was tender, beautifully charred, and complemented by vibrant flavors. The Brussels sprouts were a delightful surprise--roasted to perfection with a subtle smoky flavor that made them stand out. As for the jamón & manchego croquettes, they were creamy, indulgent, and full of savory goodness, making them the perfect appetizer. The ambiance of the restaurant is lively and vibrant, making it a fantastic spot for gatherings with family or friends. While it can get a bit loud at times, the energy adds to the charm and makes it feel like a celebratory dining experience. We had a wonderful dinner here, and I'd highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a fun and flavorful meal with great company.

This place is so cute. I sat out side and became mosquito's food but it was really nice. I got pulpo as recommendation and I loved it. Scallops is my favorite so of course it was really nice. In terms of being wine bar, I got surprised that the standard wasn't really satisfactory. When they brought the bottle out, it wasn't really chilled. So I had to ask for the ice for the chilling bucket. And when I asked the wine glass, it came out of the dishwasher, I assumed, that it was REALLY warm which affects the taste of the wine. After finishing the bottle, I ordered another glass of wine. When she brought it out, I addressed the wine glass being warm, but the waitress looked at me weirdly and didn't asked me to re-pour with proper wineglass. (Probably proper training would be needed) I'm not expecting the glass to be cold just the room temperature so when the wine gets poured, it doesn't change the flavor so quickly. Their selection of wine was okay. I had to take one stars from the rating because of the service regarding the wine. Food wasn't exceptionally amazing. But the scallop was definitely my favorite.
