Really great neighborhood cocktail bar. Eric the bartender was helpful and always was checking in on us even though we sat on high tops closer to the bathroom. Appreciated the water and well curated cocktails, especially on a very cold November night! Affordable and interesting cocktails. It looks like they have a larger bar upstairs that might be available for rent or for bigger parties. I'll have to come back to try the sushi, since it seems to have a unique take on the traditional roll. Honestly, I'd come back for the service and the great location between neighborhoods!

Came for Saturday brunch and really enjoyed it! There was a party upstairs while we dined so they were short staffed and it was a little loud from the party upstairs but it didn't detract from the overall experience. They have a bottomless brunch option but they thankfully also do pitchers. Me and 2 friends shared a mimosa pitcher which was a great deal and the perfect amount. They were out of the passionfruit mimosas that we ordered but they crafted a fun grapefruit/peach mix for us and comped our coffee which was a nice gesture. To eat I had the chicken and waffles with hot honey. Tasty overall though the chicken was slightly overcooked and the dish needed more syrup.Cute casual vibes and friendly service though a little slow which seemed mostly due to the big party.I can't say the food and drinks are out of this world but a brunch with mimosas for less than $50 is unheard of these days! I was satisfied with my meal and appreciated the value. Definitely wouldn't mind coming back.

What an excellent vibe this place has to offer!! And accommodating to kids. Beets salad was incredible. Best I've had. Try the sushi - a culinary excellence. Compliments to the chef!

The food here was great and easy to split among our large group. We shared a few different sushi rolls and some starters. The drinks were also very good. The Baby Mule was very mezcal-forward, which surprisingly worked well with the sushi. The food was amazing and the atmosphere felt cool. We were next to the kitchen, so it was a little loud. The server was attentive, yet also left us be so we could chat amongst ourselves.

My husband and I were in the area so we stopped at this place for brunch. The food to the customer service was 5 stars. Everyone was very friendly and attentive and service was fast. The bar area and dining area both have greenery on the ceiling and it was very cute. The music was nice but not too loud so we were able to have a conversation in a normal voice. The only thing I didn't like was the truffle fries but I will definitely be returning to try dinner and we would definitely do brunch here again. Parking is tight but that's to be expected in this area.

I had a fun but mixed experience here with some friends tonight! We were intrigued by how eclectic the menu was, so we wanted to come try all their unusual fusion dishes. Perhaps not surprisingly for such a varied menu, it was a bit hit or miss. The hits: beef sushi with red wine reduction, which was unexpectedly delicious - easily my favorite of the night. The sashimi pizza (served on a scallion pancake) was actually also really good, and I'd order those two again. The onion rings were solid but not outstanding, and I'd say the same about the fish and chips sushi (though I was very glad to have tried it). The misses were the beet sushi and the corn, which we didn't finish.Overall, I'd say it was worth a novelty stop for funky fusion, but I'd stick with the 2 dishes we really liked if I brought someone again and stay away from their veggies, which felt like a real weak spot of the menu. The service was pretty slow and there were some hiccups (brought a dish we didn't order, charged full price for a happy hour item), but the servers were nice and fixed the issues when we brought them up. They have a very cute rooftop bar, and we enjoyed getting to eat out there in the nice weather!

They really helped picking out a drink.

Happy hour review! Came in Friday at about 6 and there was a ton of seats. Started with a Bee's Knees cocktail which was delicious but small. The honey taste definitely came through and it was sweet without being overpowering. We also had the charcuterie board which was a steal for 19 dollars. Came with 2 meats, a cheese and some hot honey as well as pickled veggies. The truffle fries were ok but not the star. Loved the sliders! Super juicy and flavorful. Next time I'd try the happy hour sushi too. Overall this is a really cute place and great happy hr spot!

Do not go for Restaurant Week. I was super excited to try Baby Shank. The experience was a disappointment. French Onion soup--chessy but was not broiled/no crunchy cheese on top. The soup was tasty---but missed the mark. Buratta--very light on the cheese and heavy on store bought tomatoes. The burrata was supposed to be served with crostinis...we had bread...but nothing grilled or crunchy. Steak--only option allowed was medium....but then it came out rare (someone else in my group ordered the steak). I would have loved a rare steak....but did not order the steak because the only option was medium :/. Roast Chicken--Wow! what a tiny and super dried out leg and thigh. The chicken was a complete let down. Salmon--meh. I can make this better at home. Overall the food felt like it was premade and sitting...only to be reheated upon each order. Maybe this restaurant is better in non Restaurant Week options...but I doubt I will try. For the cost, I was really disappointed.

The DC Drag Brunch at Baby Shank is a blast, and the rooftop vibes are unmatched with Miss Capital Pride as the host! The servers are top tier too! This drag brunch is the best in DC.
