Au Lait Cafe

This tiny little cafe right between Dupont and U St was a great stop to fuel up before shopping! I ordered the croissant ham and cheese. Loved that they pressed it to make it a lil crispy and the house sauce was the perfect mustard-y savory touch! My mom really enjoyed her omelette and latte as well. It's really small in there but very cozy and homey and is probably a great place to get some work done for a few hours!

Good neighborhood coffee spot. OK croissants. OK service. On a weekday (after the morning rush) it's a good place to sit and read.

I located this cafe through Google Maps and what a find! It is located on the corner of a building and a true hidden gem. Everything was made fresh to order. I ordered a caramel iced coffee, and it was so smooth and recharged me. I also ordered a ham and egg croissant. This took a few minutes to freshly make, and they brought it out to the table for me. It was much larger than I expected. The croissant tasted so fresh with ham, egg, and this really good special house sauce. It was very filling and not over the top in price.This spot had several people working outside on the front patio while enjoying their coffees. Inside is very casual and cozy.I would recommend this spot for anyone in the area wanting to grab a quick breakfast or coffee to go. It's a place that takes pride in what they serve.

They offer a solid variety of teas, and I enjoyed a peppermint tea. Their ice latte is also worth trying, especially since you can get a generous 20 oz for just $6. There is seating both inside and outside, but the patio area right on the street is particularly charming. It's an excellent place to unwind, sip your coffee, read a book, or simply enjoy the evening, especially since they stay open until 8pm. Ideal for a relaxed post-dinner coffee run!

Such a nice coffee shop near DuPoint circle. Great ambiance. Some of the most delicious coffee i've had in DC. The owner was so kind and welcoming the one time we went.

Highlights: Dog Friendly, Kind Staff, Easy to Find, Outdoor Seating, Wi-FiI hosted a work coffee here early in the morning. The place was easy to find from the DuPont Circle Metro stop. The owner was just opening up when I arrived. I asked to wait and use the Wi-Fi before ordering. He was kind and showed me the best outlets for my Wi-Fi. As I was waiting, several customers streamed in with their dogs to order their coffee to go. My guest had a similarly easy time finding the location and remarked that she thought it was new to the neighborhood. We both ordered the Summer Smoothie which was refreshing (a little watery).The highlight of this place was the well-shaded outdoor patio which was perfect for more quiet conversations out of reach of the clamor of the ordering station. We were able to have a pleasant conversation there.

Their diverse menu offers delectable breakfast, lunch, and beverage choices -- I had the gooey, flavorful ham and cheese sandwich, while my companions relished the green goddess, a scrumptious vegetarian option with homemade hummus. The smoothies, priced reasonably at $8-10, attracted a lot of customers on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The owners are super friendly too, and service was great. This neighborhood gem is a must-visit, and I look forward to returning soon (hopefully on another warm day, to try the smoothies!)

The best cappuccino. fluffy milk and tasty sandwiches with a good rain yayyyyyy!!!! Try the Caprese on sour dough bread bruhhhhh so good.

A much needed addition to 17th. In addition to great beverages, the food is amazing. I just had the ham and cheese. Best I have ever had. Great tasting ham, gooey cheese, a hint of mustard and toasted. I thought I was going to take half home but was so good I ate it all. I also had the Energy Smoothie. Tasted like a malt!! So good for you! Banana, protein powder, dates all mix perfectly. This place is going to be a regular stop for me!
