We had a fun lunch here with old friends. I loved my fried chicken dinner. It came with 2 delicious boneless breasts, one of which I took home. For my sides I had French fries & buttered carrots. The fries were too thick for my taste, but the carrots were fine.

Went there with a group of five walked by several tables that could have fit us just to be taken upstairs to a secluded corner. ask the hostess if we could be seated downstairs she said it would be another 30 minute wait so we stayed. The waiter making a joke about us being stuck with him was clearly foreshadowing. He took our drink orders, brought those out, took our food order, including one appetizer and then left. Within minutes, another group arrived to a larger table across from us, which was double the size if not more people. We had to waive the waiter down for refills and for part of our drink order, and we noticed when the one appetizer did come out it was after the table with more people had all received their appetizers. We patiently continue to drink our beverages and the appetizer was finished. The food still never came out, and the waiter was even harder to find.We then noticed that more attention was paid to the larger group, including how quickly their food came out. No one came to check on us. No one gave us an update on our food. Nothing about what we ordered was complicated. By this point, all of our beverages were empty. The appetizers were finished 20 minutes prior, and the third lap to the table across from us bringing them more food finally got us an update about our food from the waiter. By this time it was an hour since we first came into the restaurant and we were done.A member of our party went to the bar downstairs and found the manager, told him what happened and was just told not to worry about it because as soon as the manager finished making cocktails, he would find out where our food was. This was absolutely unacceptable. We left Ca$h on the bar for our beverages and the one appetizer and then left..If this is the type of service the community should expect after 75 years in business maybe it is time to retire.

I've been to Annie's twice only for lunch, but both times have been a superb experience. The service is amazing and the staff make sure that you are very well taken care of. When I came here with a group of coworkers they ensured that we had a very comfortable seating area and that we received all our orders in a timely manner, and when I came here later with my husband for a weekend lunch we were blown away by the caring and kind interactions we had with our server. The food is wonderful and you can taste the high quality of ingredients used in everything. So far I've only gotten sandwiches here but each time the steak fries were so good I was daydreaming about them for days. I would definitely come back for as long as I live in the area!

Literally run, do not walk. If Apple Bee's were transformed into a better, LGBTQIA+, local, neighborhood establishment, this would be it. It is the perfect, mom's home cooking feeling to warm you up on any day. Annie's is truly an iconic joint in the DuPont Circle neighborhood. This is by no means a fine dining joint, but the menu variety and drink selection is amazing. You truly only need one cocktail, they are so good but be warned. I honestly order pretty much the same thing each time, which is the country fried chicken salad. The staff is quirky and efficient. They are always kind, and I truly can't recommend this place enough.

So I've been here a few times. I have a good friend who lives in the district and whenever I come to visit, we're always looking for a good place to go to dinner. He has always recommended this place and every time I come, I'm never disappointed. It's got a lot of LGBT history and I'm excited to contribute and share about it. Every time we come, it's always busy! Be prepared to wait on the prime nights. But we always are so glad we waited because we always enjoy ourselves here. Last time, I got the southern fried chicken and it was very filling and very much what I wanted. My friend had the Southwest Grilled Chicken which was also really good and flavorful with some good spices. They came with sides like coleslaw and a baked potato. Everything was top notch! Look around and you might see someone who is well known around the district in politics or not. Definitely a high-profile place! Looking forward to returning in the future.

This place is classic! From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted and loved. The food, especially the steaks are delicious. After all, they're known for their steaks. Everything on the menu is delicious! Ask for Mano. This man knows his stuff and his customers. Great ambiance and an all-around perfect dining experience.

Another 5* visit. This place just doesn't miss. I hadn't tried the Chicken Parmesan yet, so I ordered that. Also ordered the Mac and Cheese Bites for an app. I also tried the Wedge Salad w side of (app) Fried Chicken Strips. It was all so, so good. The Chicken Parmesan and Penne with red sauce was very flavorful. (Fried) Chicken at Annie's is second to none. So, with the Chicken Parmesan, it was a nice twist on my favorite fried chicken option. The sauce was very, very good. Overall, great dish. Huge, so bring yoir appetite. The Mac and Cheese Bites were tasty. Who doesn't like Mac and Cheese!?Service by "Papa" who has worked here for 55 years. Wow. He was on point tonight. He had some great 5* moves. Annie's continues as one of my favorite DC restaurants. It is more than just "comfort food" options. Give them a try! Tell me what you think!

Yum! Love this James Beard-recognized restaurant, which is super queer friendly! The wait staff and hosts are absolutely lovely. The food is great too! I loved the rich sauce on the southwest chicken. The interior is so cute and colorful!

This was a great place. The ribeye was good. I ordered it at medium-rare, came out slightly on the medium side. However, the flavor and quality of the meat made up for that slight mishap. Since I was by myself, I sat at the bar. The bar was crowded. Which means the food and atmosphere must be good. It didn't disappoint. I'm here in town for a week, and will revisit this place for sure!
