Altani Gelato

This spot is located in the same building as Wiseguy Pizza and Khin Sushi. I was greeted immediately which is always a plus. They have a good variety of flavors to choose from. I'm a chocolate lover so I chose the Reeses and and Red Velvet flavors. Both were rich, creamy and tasty. The red velvet didn't really taste like red velvet to me but it was delicious. It just didn't give that signature flavor.Since they are located at the same counter as the sushi restaurant, it doesn't really feel like a gelato or ice cream shop but that isn't a dealbreaker. I would visit again.

It's a cute idea, set up in the Canal Park. The gelato was good, but a little overpriced. It's set up at the same place as the Asian-fusion quick service restaurant. It was confusing to figure out if this was a chain or a local place and where/how the gelato was made. A lot of flavors were out as well. Service was fine, but it took a long time for them to scoop the gelato since they were busy preparing orders for the food side. It's a cute spot if you're in that park and want something to snack on, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there with all of the other great ice cream spots in the area. Would be nice if they had a local space selling ice cream/gelato there with a dedicated storefront for that item.

Altani Gelato has gelato of course. It also has some sorbet. Located in Canal Park in Navy Yard. Hours are kind of messed up. They seem wrong in the website. Check ahead. It has some strange hours. They weren't open a few times they were supposed to. It shares a space with Wiseguy Pizza. This is located in the middle of Canal Park with some outside tables. It has a good variety of flavors. They have gelatos and sorbets. It's about $3.50 for a medium cup. The lemon sorbet is sweet and tangy. It also has pastries like croissants. It certainly has a French feel. They close for the season in winter.

Located where WiseGuy Pizza is near the CVS on M St.Regular: 3 Scoops is $6.60 including tax. Good value and great flavor!There were two large cases filled with a variety of flavors including both gelato and sorbet. I ended up getting hazelnut, chocolate and berry cheesecake. The berry cheesecake was very bright and tart and the cheesecake flavor was super rich in the best way. Chocolate was pretty basic and was overshadowed by the extra crunch from the hazelnuts.

Came here the other night after a few friends told me about this place from the Yelp Event (which I didn't get an invite to this time *sad face*). Upon walking it, you will immediately be overwhelmed by the amount of flavors they have because holy moly, it is a LOT. And yes, the two different cases of different flavors.Now I know they change their flavors, but let me just tell you now, the caramelized banana is LIFE CHANGING. The other flavors are good too, but if they have the caramelized banana and you are not allergic to bananas, GET IT. The passionfruit and pistachio is also pretty good. I hear the matcha and ube is good too. But honestly, despite the plethora of flavors, I would still prefer to go to Pitango simply for the quality of the gelato. Overall though, a great spot to stop by on a hot day if you're right by Navy Yard.

This gelato shop enjoys an auspicious location in a glassy building that highlights Canal Park, which is shared with Wiseguy pizza. It's a nice setup. I was quite disappointed to find that one of their display cases appeared to have broken and was empty. I wonder if they are waiting until the weather warms up to fix it and unleash the full flavor selection again.Regardless of the timeline on those repairs, even though the creme caramel and extra dark chocolate flavors are not what I would have chosen given more of a selection, the flavors they did have were suitably impressive. The extra dark chocolate lived up to the name; I wouldn't recommend it for everyone as I have a high tolerance for bitterness, but it combined well with the sweeter caramel. The price was about what other gelato shops in DC would have you expect; it's a premium dessert.What sets this shop apart-aside from that huge flavor selection they had when I visited over the summer for a Yelp Elite event-is their selection of non-gelato add-ons, including dipped cones and various pastries. I think they have the potential to be as good as any gelato shop in DC.

Great gelato and friendly customer service in the Navy Yard. I stopped by on Saturday with friends to pick up a refreshing treat and I was not disappointed. The gelato was rich and refreshing. The red velvet and mango gelato were exceptional. The prices were very fair for the area and the portions were generous. I will definitely return!

Altani Gelato is a good scoop of gelato in Navy Yard in Southeast D.C. It's in Canal Park in the same building as Wiseguy Pizza. Despite being in the same building, Altani has it's own seating and there's a divider between the two. The service is good and the gelato is good. They have over a dozen flavors from your classics to more unique flavors.

We ordered two "regular" sized gelatos in cups for $6.55 each. A regular size gets you two flavors. Unfortunately, the server only filled our cups half full; it was a very small amount of gelato! We won't be returning to Altani, especially when Ice Cream Jubilee is right down the street and far more generous.

Taro flavor is amazing! Good service and great sushi options as well. Very fast and convenient.
