Another new spot for me courtesy of the drinking passport. Alegria is located in the food hall in the Edgewood neighborhood. It's part of the new development that includes Kraken and Alamo drafthouse. I went on a Saturday afternoon and there was foot traffic but it wasn't super busy. I got some food from the dumpling spot and drinks from the bar. The bartenders were super friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked up. I started with a coquito. Initially, I was turned off by the small glass size but it was so good and strong. I then moved on to a glass of lambrusco which is a bubble red wine with a touch of sweetness to it. Prices are a little on the higher side but it's DC so shouldn't be surprising. Just when I was ready ro shut it down, I was convinced very easily to get another drink and ended ith a passionfruit mojito.Definitely a great atmosphere for anyone solo, groups or date night. Great music and a good vibe.

This was my first time here! It's located inside the Bryant street food hall which I've been in before! The drinks were cool since it was national margarita day you would've thought the prices would've been better! I didn't like that the bartenders messed up on my drinks twice . I just blame it on them being super busy! I would go back on a min busy day! They did have a DJ which was cool and a good crowd!

This is such a fun spot at Bryant Street! The staff was so friendly and kind and they have really great options for small bites and for salads. The chips and guac were graat but the drink was amazing!

I've always wanted to try this bar ever since it opened. We came on a Saturday around 9:45/10pm (it closes at 11) and it was very lively! The bar itself is small so it may be hard to get the bartender's attention but when you do, they are very efficient and helpful. There's plenty of seating in the Bryant Street Market food hall, so you can take your drinks away from this boisterous end of the market if you want to have a quiet conversation. We only tried 2 drinks, the mezcal and regular tequila margaritas, on this visit. The menu looks intriguing and I'd want to come back to try a few of their more complex cocktails. The food bites looked good when others ordered them, but they did seem small so you might want to order more if you're hungry or check out other places in the market. They have a happy hour as well, so I'll have to make a return visit to check that out!

The folks that work here are the best! Not only do they make some amazing cocktails, but their energy, personalities, warmth and hospitality are truly top notch. Additionally their Penicillin (my fave cocktail) is one of the best I've ever had! If you haven't had a chance to check Alegria out yet in their first year in business, be sure to make it a priority in the new year!

This is a loud, fun Latin flair place that is great to get ready to go out. Their cocktails are outstanding, well balanced, and flavorful. The Latin food is on point. The empanada are crispy with full flavor stuffing with just the right spice level. The croquettes are perfectly fried with the gooey center you expect. I live this place.

I met a friend for drinks at Alegria a few weeks ago. We started off with frozen margaritas and piña coladas; however, our margaritas were too tart and the piña coladas were too sweet. Undeterred, my friend and I ordered two alternate drinks from the cocktail menu that the bartender assured us were not as sweet. I had the Alegria Manhattan, which was made with mezcal wash mole, Averna amaro, cocchi americano, and blended bitters. This was the murkiest Manhattan I've ever had and it had no kick! My friend ordered a drink with mezcal that she was pleased with.I did not like that all the drinks we ordered were pre-made. This may have saved the bartenders some time; however, it resulted in a suboptimal cocktail experience. The food menu was limited, so my friend and I decided to go somewhere else to eat once we closed our tab.

Alegria is Bryant Street Market's bar from the family behind Taqueria Habanero, which has a stand in the food hall very close to Alegria. My friend and I went on a Wednesday evening around 8 p.m. for drinks. Here's our experience.1) Drinks: There are 15 cocktails, all $15. They have classics and a handful of their own concoctions. My friend ordered the "Last Word." He enjoyed the taste, but it wasn't chilled to standard. My "Dona Margarita" came with egg white foam on top and was delicious and refreshing. They also have beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options. If you want food, they sell small bites like guacamole and chips and croquettes. 2) Service: Even though they were busy and seemed frantic, they were polite. We didn't have to wait that long for our drinks. 3) Space: They have a small bar and a few tables nearby. It's inside a food hall so there are plenty of spaces to sit further away from the bar. 4) Neighborhood: It's in a new development with lots of restaurants, bars, and a cinema. There's a large parking lot for free near the Alamo Drafthouse.
