Afro Lounge

Stopped by after dinner. As the name suggests, afro beats were playing the entire time. We got a hookah, which was very harsh and hard to smoke. I ordered the Massai juice cocktail - tasty!Bathrooms were just "okay"There is an outside part of this lounge, but it was 30 degrees so we didn't go out there, obviously lol

My friends and I came here late night on a Friday. The music was a vibe and the waitresses were cool. The hookah was great and a decent price. The sweet chili wings were a hit with all of us and the quesadilla was a 7/10. Definitely will be back again!

My first stop on my DC/MD trip, the establishment is friendly, everyone you meet is smiling Partook in other services not so much the food! 5/10 for my night out at Afro Lounge

Okay. I came here to watch the fight I really enjoyed myself the atmosphere was a good vibe. they have hookah and drinks at a really reasonable price. And an outdoor area which is covered making it feel like you are still inside and they let you smoke in it. This will be on my top go to places now

afro lounge is cute. came in randomly with a friend for a birthday celebration that his brother was having. only gott 2 shots but the server was on it coming outside where we were on the patio vs making us have to come inside to order. thank you for that. if you are at mrbraxton or looking glass && decide you want hookah, thatd be you lr best bet to not having to go far!

Great place! I had so much fun. I went with friends, The DJ is on point . Was a good time, nice drinks and good people!

Overpriced bad service. I don't appreciate that they add tip but fail to declare so I double tip for a bad service. Also, they suddenly said they are closing half an hour earlier than the time they originally mentioned they close. I will not go back.

Music, atmosphere, DRINKS were amazing oh yeah and hookah! Going back this week because now everyone wants to go!

It was my first and last time going there. Had 1 hookah & 2 drinks; granted I didn't ask what the price of a hookah was before I ordered it. Needless to say, the bill for the 3 items was $80... NO itemized bill was provided, it was just the total on the TOAST tab portable machine & it was already on the final page where you add gratuity w/ options of 5, 7, or 9% tip. I thought it was odd that the "suggested tip" was low so I asked (since I wasn't offered the itemized bill) if an automatic gratuity was included and the waitress said no, trust me language was not a barrier, she understood perfect English. Since i had to go on blind faith, she watched me pull my phone out to calculate 20% tip and pay, she thanked me & left without offering a printed receipt (red flag). On a whim I called the next day to inquire how much their hookah was and the gentleman told me it was $45 plus tax AND gratuity. For me it's not about the money, it's the principle of the matter. I don't like being lied to especially if I ask politely, plus the waitress had plenty of time to correct me when she saw me pull out my phone to calculate my 20% for a paltry service at best, it was't like she was waiting on my hand & foot. I will support black businesses but not if they're not trying to do right by us
