I had received some bad news today and my mind was sort of numb trying to process it. I forced myself out of my apartment but I wasn't feeling motivated to do anything or go anywhere. I drove around a little and decided to try Afghan Restaurant for the first time. I am so glad I did! Nazar set such welcoming and professional tone that echoed throughout the staff. I wish I had asked for the server's name, because he was equally as professional. I had the Aushak and the Borani Banjan. Both dishes looked as beautiful as they tasted. I should have taken pictures. The meal finished on a wonderful note with ice cream for dessert. There was a perfect amount of crushed pistachio sprinkled on top. I definitely walked out in a much better mood than I walked in!

The food is excellent. I had a perfectly cooked lamb kebab which came with a heaping plate of rice, naan, and spinach. For dessert, I had firni, and Afghan dessert from milk with cardamom and pistachios. It was rich and flavorful. The owner was our waiter and he was very attentive. The restaurant has nice decor, with pretty industrial chic lights, and good Middle Eastern music. My wife wanted to get everything with no oil and they were very accommodating. I highly recommend this place.

If there's any review you need to read, it's this one! From someone that has tried almost every middle eastern restaurant throughout the dmv, especially for Afghani food, this will now be my absolute go to and that's coming from a Pakistani! This was a 10/10 dining experience. Our server, Behruz, was so kind and accommodating to me and my family, it was so heartwarming! The food was absolutely delicious, very flavorful and the spices were definitely unique compared to other places. The chutney was actually spicy which is so rare to come across! The Sheeryakh is a must try! Delicious and not overly sweet. I can't wait to come back!!

Last night I was looking for an Afghan restaurant and came across this. When I saw their Qabili Uzbaki on the menu I was sold. So I came here and ordered it. The service was great. They responded almost immediately to everything. I probably had my food within minutes of ordering. I got a huge plate of, more than I could eat. The rice was good with carrots and raisins, just like when I was in that part of the world. There was a leg (?) of lamb buried under the rice. I cut pieces off and mixed it in with the rice; the lamb was also good. As if this wasn't enough, I also got a huge piece of naan. It was good and by the time I left I was stuffed. They had a traditional Afghan dessert that I think is like ice cream that looked interesting. I think they had a whole area devoted to just this, like an ice cream shop, but it seemed closed when I went. Still, I'd recommend this place if you're looking for some good Afghan food.

Good Ambiance and service and EXCELLENT food. Found the place on Yelp and was unsure a bit b/c of the the mixed reviews. That said, I am glad I went to check it out. Afghan resturants I have been too. took my parents, two adult siblings and I enjoyed the family platter which was more than enough for the five of us. Black tea with spices was wonderful and so was the deserts. Certialy intend to go back for more and recomend to others.

I don't know if this is a new restaurant or just a hidden gem, but I am glad I found this spot. I have already picked up twice from here in the past two weeks because it's that good.I plan to dine inside next time because the interior is clean and seems fun. But I would recommend carry out or dine in because the food is that good. The rice, veggies, and meat are all delicious. Both times I have come in the workers have been very helpful at getting my order ready so I old assume the done in service is excellent as well. Very good spot - highly recommend! I am excited to try their special dessert next time.

Their bread/naan is heavenly when it's warm. Their signature dessert sheeryakh is both light and perfect amount of sweet. The layout is actually pretty nice as the tables feel spread out and you can see them cook.
