The food was fabulous! We had the most amazing soup and aloo paratha was divine. Well portioned so I have another meal. The place itself is meh. Bathrooms are nasty and the cook was taking a nap on the floor outside the bathroom! Yes, it was after we ate and between shifts. I recommend for take out!

Stopped in here after a few drinks in Eastern Market. It was pretty empty, with tons of to go orders being placed. We opted for a few appetizers to go since it was our first time trying Aatish. Their naan bread was really tender and the tandoori chicken was juicy, I enjoyed the samosas as well, they were pretty packed! Would like to check it out when some more customers are in store and see what's popular here.

Aatish On the Hill was a delightful break for this first-time visitor to our Nation's capital. I arrived early; tired, with sore feet, and hungry. The low-key but attentive service; quick preparation time; and absolutely delicious food was a balm to my soul. While I agree with the criticisms that it was not spicy enough I am pretty sure the chef could accomodate bolder palates. I had pakoras, which were crisp and subtly-seasoned; a very tasty malai kofta which was on the mild side of the spectrum; and the mango lassi. I read reviews complaining about the lassi being watered down by the ice, but I found it refreshing and with plenty of flavor. I will be back

This is my go to Indian takeout place. The portions are very generous and tasty compared to similar places in the area. The service is prompt and friendly. I haven't eaten inside yet, but it appears quaint and upscale and is on an active street with lots of life.

A long time "go-to," this restaurant has not aged well. Always a reliable and delicious takeaway option, it now is sadly lost. The staff remains friendly and the ambience, well, you'll see, clean and bright but not appealing.

Went into this place on a Monday evening. The decorations are a little older but we were promptly greeted by the waiter. Upon him coming over and offering my date and I food menus, he poured us water. Once he walked away, we noticed there's was something floating in both of our drinks and all of the utensils and plates were dirty as well. We sadly left moments later.

We went to Aatish On The Hill for a Valentine's Day dinner. When we got there, the restaurant was empty, which makes sense, because they probably get most of the business from delivering food. As far as atmosphere, there was no music at all, the only noises we heard were the people in the kitchen yelling as they are preparing food, and the loan human being, who is at the bar with his computer and phone, making loud dinging noises. When we order food, it took a while for the waiter to bring us anything that we asked for, is matter fact, I had to go up, find him and ask him to bring us our drinks after we've been there about 20 minutes. We also had to ask him to bring us anything else we wanted such as to go bags the bill The tea that he forgot. As the only person on duty in front is clear that he really didn't have much training. While the food was tasty, neither dish was prepared to the spiciness level we requested. my lamb biryani didn't have much meat in it. I don't think we'll be going back, it was not a happy Valentines dinner. They didn't even try.

Visited with the family on a recent trip to DC. We ordered samosas, Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Karahi, and garlic naan. The green chutney came with pappadam, but was great on other things. Everything was delicious! The portions are filling and the servers were attentive.

Love Aatish - our preferred Indian takeout in DC. It's not Michelin star, but it's always reliably good, has fast delivery, and reasonable prices considering the portion size.

Ordered food for family event. Aatish is a staple and has been around for years. The food was hot, delicious and always quality. Butter chicken, aloo curry, Dahl, naan and goat were superb. I have previously ordered food for Eid. Love the late night and holiday hours. Service was on time and amazing. Love this restaurant!!
