Place has been on my list for some time. It can be a bit pricey for one person so when I had friends visiting we went and feasted. It wasn't too busy on a Saturday early afternoon. Shortly after we got in line....it got packed. I would say arrive before 1pm on the weekend to avoid crowds. We opted to dine inside and got seated on one of the benches next to the window. Food:Beef rib- groups favorite...super delicious and tender Prime brisket- very good as well. Super moist and fall off the bone. Poblano sausage- great option but the jalapeño sausage is better. Jalapeño sausage- very very good, not too spicy either.Sweet potato mash- surprisingly my favorite side. Not too sweet and blended perfectly with some cinnamon. I don't like marshmallows and that other junk on my sweet potatoes.Mac and cheese- also good. I saw mixed reviews about the Mac and cheese but it was really creamy and cheesy the day we went. It also did not look exactly like the other pictures I saw on yelp so it may be hit or miss.Cornbread- you can skip...tasted like regular cornbreadI will be back to try the pupusa special they have, unfortunately it was not an option this weekend. Great spot and they do offer catering as well.

2Fifty has been on my friend's list for a long time, so we made plans to check it out last evening. I ordered the food online in advance, but fortunately, the server was able to give me the food for dine-in (you can't have to-go orders changed to dine-in, apparently). My friend ordered a few more things since what we pre-ordered was not enough for the both of us.1/2 LB. PRIME BRISKET - 17.50There are three options: lean, moist, and burnt ends.We tried moist and burnt ends. For a pound of prime brisket (each ordered 1/2 lb), we got 2 slabs of moist cuts and 6 pieces of burnt ends. The moist cut was well-seasoned with a good balance of meat and fat, but lacked the smoky Texas BBQ flavor we were hoping for. The burnt ends were definitely juicier, fattier, and smokier, but it was too heavy for me after two pieces. If you are choosing between the two, I'd go for the burnt ends. CORN BREAD (2 PCS) - 3.50Out of all the sides, the corn bread was our favorite. It was not too dense nor too sweet, with the perfect, slightly gritty texture. I ended up taking my second piece of corn bread home and enjoyed it for breakfast the next day.MAC N CHEESE (REGULAR) - 7The mac n cheese was disappointing. The cheese had a very liquid-y texture with a "boxed cheese" (aka powdered cheese blend) taste. It was probably underbaked since it lacked the top-crust. I didn't finish my mac n cheese and did not take it home.SWEET POTATO MASH (REGULAR) - 7The sweet potato mash was fine, but we thought it was too blended. We were hoping for some of that fibrous texture in every bite. The lightly toasted marshmallows on top were a nice touch.Overall, the food here is pretty pricy for what we got. Both of us spent about 35.00 each with very little leftovers. The sides for 7.00 each was pricy for the underwhelming quality and quantity. If I come back, I'll try their pork spare ribs and other sides.

I went here for dinner after seeing this place on a YouTube video and I was pleased with my order. I got a quarter pound of the brisket, half pound of their seasonal pork belly burnt ends, and a small side of potato salad. It was a lot of food, so I enjoyed some of it there and had the rest the next day at home. I will try other meats next time. The burnt ends were only sold by half pound, but I had to try it because it was seasonal.I would have liked there to be more options for sides. I wanted to try more but it was pretty price for one side at $7 for the smallest size. It's also a nice spacious dining area with spaces in the front and back of the restaurant. The staff behind the counter were also very nice and efficient.

Had Jury Duty at the courthouse and decided to walk around and see what I could find for lunch. Stumbled upon 2Fifty BBQ. I walked in and the place was empty. 1 patron inside. I couldn't understand why until I checked out. More on that later.I was torn on what to get but they gave me a sample of the brisket as I was curious. Sample was ok so I decided to give it a shot. Ordered the 1/2lb brisket and potato salad. $32!!!!! This is exactly why they were empty. The potato salad is loaded with mustard which they say. I was surprised the skin from the potato's was still on. The brisket wasn't hot . Moreso on the luke warm side a Lindy chewy. The service was good. The food is average. The prices are sky high.

This is the best BBQ in the DMV!The meat is cooked to literal perfection. We got the wagyu brisket, pork ends (must try), and ribs. Everything was so soft and buttery you barley had to even chew.. The sides were delicious as well. We got their creamy coleslaw, Mac and cheese, esquite (Mexican street corn), and their moist fluffy corn bread At the end we got their banana pudding which was the cherry on top. And man, did we have the itis. The service was excellent, everyone was so kind. And the restaurant gives picnic vibes with their seats being benches. 20/10 recommend, seriously!

Sundays are family days for us--slow, easy, and all about good vibes. This Sunday, we finally made it to 2Fifty BBQ in DC! I've been a fan since their Riverdale, MD location but just hadn't found the time to visit their new spot. Well, we made it.Parking? Typical DC street parking, but we scored a spot right in front (a Sunday miracle). Kingston didn't partake since he's vegan and, honestly, he snoozed through most of the visit because we came during nap time. Lucky guy skipped straight to the food coma part of the meal. Now, let's talk vibes. The decor is a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern industrial flair. The front dining area has picnic-style wooden tables and benches that scream "let's eat and chill." Add to that the patterned tiles, hanging light bulbs, and exposed ceiling beams, and you've got a space that feels stylish but cozy. It's like they wanted you to feel like you're at a chic backyard BBQ.The Food:We already knew bae wanted brisket before we even got there. So, we ordered: * Brisket * Chicken Leg Quarter * Sweet Potato Mash * Esquites (Corn Salad) * Fountain DrinkThe total was around $45--don't quote me on that, but close enough. We grabbed a seat in the dining room area past the restrooms, and every table was stocked with BBQ sauce (yes, plural). Now, here's the tea: * Brisket: Tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor. Bae complained about the fat, but let's be real--that's where the flavor lives. * Chicken Leg Quarter: The smoky taste gave me cookout vibes, and that little squirt of magic juice they drizzle on top? Chef's kiss. It made the skin glisten and taste amazing. * Sweet Potato Mash: Sweet but not overly so--just the right balance. It was comforting without being cloying.* Esquites: Loaded with flavor! The red onions and cilantro brought the heat, and it had just enough kick to keep things interesting. And the BBQ sauces? Bae, who's an island man thats use to heat, said the hot wasn't that spicy. Lies. It definitely had a kick to it. Not unbearable though. We didn't finish everything (half the meats, most of the mash, and some corn salad came home with us), but trust me, every bite was memorable.Final Verdict? Will I be back? Is that even a question? 2Fifty BBQ serves quality food with fantastic flavors, and the ambiance makes it all the better.

I was super excited to visit 2Fifty for the first time after hearing such good things about it. It was good, but a few parts were not as good as they should have been (due to very obvious, easily fixed problems), and overall it didn't live up to the hype (which might be an impossible task since the hype is through the roof). The space is pretty basic, with some outside seats, a front area where you order, three picnic tables for seating plus a few two-tops, and a case with some refrigerated items, and a soda fountain. At first, I was worried we wouldn't get a seat, but there is also a back dining room area. The menu is straightforward -- you can order meats in 0.5 lb increments and sides in small or large. They serve a few types of beer and wine, but it's not on the main menu, only a menu paper over by check out. There are no preset platters or combos; everything is a la carte. You wait in line to order and first get meats, then sides, then drinks and pay.I visited with two other people and we got a ton of food. We spent $110 and had about 1/3 of the food left over. We got1/2 lb lamb - comes with tortilla chips - $12.501 lb prime brisket - $361/5 lb poblano sausage - $10Esquites (regular) - $7Mac and cheese (regular) - $7Brisket Beans (regular) - $7Three beers - $5 eachThe plates came with pickles and pickled red onion. Sauce was a DIY affair, with two options on the table: sweet and spicy. The lamb was very good, but the tortilla chips were not -- no seasoning, all very brown, looked and tasted burnt. The brisket was very good, with a great balance of lean and fatty pieces. The sausage was coarsely ground, which I liked, but I would have liked more spiciness from the poblano.Esquites were very goodBrisket beans were goodMac and cheese was extremely watery and not warm enough. Our serving was the first from a fresh tray in the back, so I thought it would be fresh and in great shape, but it was a let down.Ordering was not as easy as it should be. We placed our meet order, but the guy misheard us and only gave us the brisket, then sent us on to get sides, so we had to backtrack. Then, the cashier got our beers, but misheard us again and thought we only ordered two.Beers are cheap at $5-$6. I like that their house beer is a smoked lager -- smoked beers are rare but I love them.I like that they have stations with cutlery, napkins, and to-go boxes so you don't have to ask the staff.I would go back, but they need to fix their tortilla chip and mac and cheese situation.

2fifty Texas BBQ is a gem for any BBQ lover! The brisket is tender and perfectly smoked with just the right amount of bark, while the ribs practically fall off the bone. The flavors are bold and authentic, reminiscent of Texas-style BBQ at its finest. The sides are just as impressive. The mac and cheese is creamy with a rich, cheesy flavor, and the coleslaw has a fresh crunch that pairs perfectly with the meats. The house-made pickles add a nice touch, balancing out the richness of the BBQ.The atmosphere is casual, and while it can get busy, the staff handles the crowd efficiently and always with a friendly smile. My only reason for holding back a fifth star is that it can be a bit pricey compared to other . Overall, 2fifty Texas BBQ is a must-visit spot for any BBQ enthusiast!Recommendation level: mid-high

This place, unfortunately, misses the Texas BBQ mark. It's a fast, casual setup from ordering, paying, and seating. That alone wasn't the TX BBQ vibe we were expecting. I ordered the 1/2 prime beef Brisket. I had to ask for it to be Fatty and wet. They were just going to cut and serve it. The meat was tender and juicy, which was expected. However, the brisket lacked that TX Standard flavor profile we were looking for. Others in the party ordered the BBQ burnt ends, which were sauced up to the nines. They were not the best and missed the mark. The individual who ordered the BBQ pork sandwich said the pork was dry and that a Crockpot could have done a better job. We ordered a side of mac and cheese, which was tasty, and coleslaw, which had more of a mayo taste. If you are in DC and looking for a Texas BBQ experience, this place is not it. It's your run-of-the-mill strip shop BBQ joint.

Location, atmosphere and customer service A++. Best BBQ I've had in a long time! I love the fact that you can watch the staff prepare everything on the screens while you order and dining in.
