I thought I would give this place a try for two reasons. 1) This is a non-tipping establishment, where gratuities are included, which is good since I personally and very strongly dislike tipping culture. 2) The reviews were good, too.I only tried the Margherita pizza, since I think it's always a good start to judging the quality of the pizza, and I wasn't disappointed! The sauce and toppings were flavorful, the crust was a bit chewy with a bit of a crunch, and the pizza itself wasn't soggy. I also had a beer. I think they have a decent beer list, but I would hope to see more stouts in the future on top of what they already have!Otherwise, all else was good and I'm sure I'll eventually be back in the future to try another pizza flavor and maybe a dessert this time. My eating experience here "almost" made me feel as if I was eating at a restaurant somewhere in Europe for about an hour, between the no mandatory tipping policy and the laid back vibe of the place. I personally hope that this will be the future of eating out in the US, which I think is many years overdue. The only thing I wish they'd do is include the tax in the published price.Overall, I give this restaurant a recommend!

Made a last minute decision to stop here for pizza as we drove by and was pleased with my experience. The seating is broken up into 3 areas, bar seating, the second floor which is much more intimate and quiet, or the ground floor where you're exposed to the open kitchen. The service was lovely. The wait staff was super responsive and cared for our every need.We ordered 2 pizzas and some meatballs. The meatballs were a charred a little too heavily for my liking and were a little bit dry. The pizza was solid though. It had a very good balance of sauce to cheese to crust.

Pro tip: ask the host to seat you upstairs if you want a more quiet and intimate setting. The food was delicious! I love how small the menu is-- I often suffer from decision fatigue if the menu is too long.

This is my second time coming to 2Amy's. Both times I've been, it has been packed inside. I managed to find a seat at the bar by myself. A 20% service charge is included in the price, so there is no tipping. The service both times has been okay, nothing to write home about. I ordered: A glass of colpetrone Sardines with bread, butter and olive oil: at first it didn't sound like much, but I really enjoyed it. It is one of the best appetizers I've had in D.C. The salty sardines, butter, and bread complimented each other so well. 9/10. Etna 2.0 pizza: this pizza had smoked mozzarella di bufalo, fried eggplant, pine nuts, parsley, and tomato sauce. It is one of the best pizzas I've had in my life. All the ingredients went together perfectly, and the crust was crispy and chewy. 10/10. The last time I came, I ordered the Calabrese pizza, which came with olives and sardines. It was way too salty for my taste. I wouldn't order it again. Overall, I love this chill, neighborhood Italian restaurant. I will definitely be back. 4.5/5 stars.

Expect a wait when you arrive! We came on a Friday evening and were told a 45 minute wait. Though you have the option of waiting at the bar, it is a small area and was already crowded so our only option was to wait outside. Be sure to dress warm, although we were, towards the end of out wait, my feet were starting to get very cold. Inside is small, busy, tables are seated close together and the dining room floor is hustling and bustling. We were brought here by our friends who rave about this place and they had every right to. We started with two orders of suppli which is a fried risotto ball stuffed with mozzarella, these had a perfectly crisp outside with a soft, tender inside, but be careful, they're hot hot! Tip: order a side of their tomato sauce to dip, it's so good you can drink it. For our entrees our party ordered primarily pizza with the exception of myself. The Pozzuoli with sausage and peppers had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. I opted for a stuffed calzone - the ripieno basilico with ricotta, mozzarella, pesto and tomato. It was all the flavor combinations my Italian self drools over. It was well stuffed with each of the cheeses and you can taste the flavor combination of each of them, the pesto was also very tasteful. I will say, this filled me up very quickly, so I took this for left overs and thought it tasted even better in the following days to come.

The place and service is really nice, like a small Italian restaurant. But the pizza was not the best - the flavors were okay but nothing spectacular. I like how the price includes tip.

Upon our arrival in DC, my family and I immediately headed to lunch. Since we drove to DC and needed to charge our car, my husband expressed his craving for pizza. A quick Google search led us to 2 Amy's, just a 4-minute walk from the charging station. What a exciting discovery it turned out to be!Upon entering the restaurant, the bustling atmosphere instantly transported us to an authentic Italian pizza spot in Italy. The lively ambiance, with employees skillfully crafting pizzas in full view, added to the charm. Despite the crowded indoor seating, we opted for the patio, which although pleasant, was a bit warm. While they had fans, I recommend more powerful ones for hotter days, though it wasn't uncomfortable enough to move inside. Our server, whose name escapes me, was knowledgeable about the menu and recommended 2 pizzas since there were three of us in our group. Along with a not-so-great coke (it was a little flat) and water, the delicious pizza arrived promptly. The unique seasoning of the pizza, with a delightful hint of spiciness that I particularly enjoyed, stood out. I also appreciated the no-tip policy of the restaurant, although contributions to their virtual tip jar are welcomed at https://2amyspizza.com/checkout/donate?donatePageId=5eea673eb4aede41d0ccf03a.The well-maintained and spotlessly clean bathroom reflected the overall high standards of the bustling and popular restaurant. My only regret was not indulging in a glass of wine during our visit.

This is a place my son found when he was a professional ballet dancer for Washington Ballet. We would frequent this restaurant whenever we were in town for a performance or show. The pizza is the closest pizza I have had to true Italian pizza outside of Italy. To say it is amazing is an understatement. The pizza is cooked in a wood burning oven and comes out piping hot. The cheese is truly what makes this pizza so good. We had not been in a while so this was a slice of heaven . Since, the last time we went the restaurant had chosen not to add a gratuity line to your bill and are now charging prices which allow staff to be paid fairly. This was a nice change to see and the only restaurant in this country where I have seen that . Highly recommend if you are in DC to check this restaurant out. Reservations are NOT accepted and they do get packed on a Friday and Saturday night so come early. Wonderful casual dining experience in DC.

I wanted to like this place but just nothing stood out, nice casual vibe, attentive enough surface and food you expect. We got the salt cod croquettes which I think I liked the most, lots of fish and nice with the lemon and aioli. We also got the norcia pizza, I believe and I know the middle of a Neapolitan is supposed to be soft but it was a little too mushy for me. The crust at the end was however perfectly crisp and soft at the same time.
