"2.09.2025- We had a 9:30am rezzie on Super Bowl Sunday. Reservations are advisable since folks know about this lively little gem in Del Ray. We tried dropping in before & went elsewhere thanks to the extended wait time. Now let's get into it!We started with the seafood dip. A nice smokey dip with crab, shrimp, spinach & cheddar. They served it with griddled buttery bread. For mains, we ordered the shrimp & grits and cornflake crusted French toast & chicken. The shrimp & grits andouille sausage gravy can be subbed for a chicken sausage gravy. The French toast & chicken / waffles are both served with a crispy chicken breast . We also ordered a masa pancake, eggs w/ cheese, & bacon for nephew. The presentation, texture, & flavors were on point. This family friendly spot has a lot of interesting menu items including healthy options that I can't wait to try. I'll definitely return some time soon."

"Had a really excellent experience here traveling with my family. The vibe was warm and pleasant. There were lots of regulars enjoying their breakfast and we were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated after a minimal wait despite the place being hopping. Kids had nicely executed pancake plates - I would recommend the egg and chorizo scramble and the chipped beef gravy. Everything was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely recommend!"

Super friendly; offered some great recommendations and was there when we needed him, while allowing us time and space when we needed it.Happily enjoyed some Happy Hour drinks, including the HH Punch (a rum punch that was like an adult kool-aid the day we were there) and a Bourbon Old Fashioned for Jim G., both at $9. Jim also had to have one of the Scotch Flights at $35 and I tried an Espress Yourself, which was a barrel-aged espresso martini--very rich and tasty. We also had a Happy Meal, which was a Jameson shot, a Peach High Noon, and a little toy in the way of a cute spinner!Great playlist, good people watching, warm and cozy environment. "I came here on a Saturday night and sat at the bar by myself. It was pretty packed inside. The service at the bar was fast and friendly. It was my first time eating Laotian food, and I really enjoyed it. Laotian food is more light and fresh than Thai food, and uses more herbs and less coconut milk. I will definitely be back. I ordered:Banana lagoon cocktail- 8/10, refreshing cocktail with banana and guava.Pork shoulder skewers- 9/10, the meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful. I also liked the sauce it came with.Crispy rice salad- 10/10, this was my favorite dish. Mango sticky rice- I really enjoyed it, but was a little disappointed by how small it was. I saw in the past the portion used to be much bigger. 7/10."

"I had lunch at Parkway Deli yesterday, and as always, it was a fantastic experience! I've eaten here many times, but this is my first time posting a review. I ordered the Pastrami Delight sandwich, and it truly lived up to its name. The pastrami was bursting with flavor, with just the right amount of crispy charred bits. The cheese was perfectly melted, and the coleslaw added the perfect crunch to every bite. I'd add a pic, but I was so hungry I didn't stop to take one!I paired it with goodies from the famous pickle bar--dill pickles, sauerkraut, and banana peppers--which made the meal even better. My server was friendly and attentive, and my food arrived quickly, which I really appreciated. On my way out, I couldn't resist picking up a tub of whitefish and a tub of chopped liver to snack on later--both were absolutely delicious.If you're ever in Silver Spring or nearby, Parkway Deli is a must-visit. "Very first thing to notice about this establishment is that it is inside a house, super cute location! I love that its setting really sets it apart from other restaurants. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, parking appears to be plentiful albeit street parking. We were immediately greeted once going inside, and also promptly served by our waiter. They have an extensive brunch and lunch menu alike. Average prices for a restaurant in this area. Portion sizes were not massive which I really appreciated, but perhaps others might want multiple items from the menu if extra hungry. I couldn't decide what I wanted, so I requested my server surprise me with his favorite sandwich. He chose the croque monsieur and I was very happy with this option. "I have always had a great experience here! Though there are many tasty looking options, my order has always been pretty consistent lol. As a girl raised in the South, I have been satisfied with their grits for the most part. Yes, there are times when I add more butter, salt and pepper. Grits is the most important item to me, because I mix it with my scrambled eggs and have it with toast. I did try the crab grits once and it tasted just like what it sounds like, something like a crabcake. The best thing about this place is the atmosphere. They sell a lot of books and has a Cafe type vibe, which is great for business brunches in a casual and non distraction setting. The staff rounds it out by always being polite and efficient."

"Busboys and poets food is always great but I really love coming to this location! I can always go in here and get quick service before I have to leave out and continue with the rest of my day! They do have a small book store section as well and I really love that addition as well because I can check that out while I wait for my food or before I head out. I come here on lunch breaks sometimes and get work done while I eat as well because it's nearby and they have WiFi as well! I love the artsy vibe and painting they have as well and it always looks clean and well kept inside. Side note: there is only street parking at this location that's close to the restaurant but there is a garage down the street and around the corner that you can park in if you plan on staying longer."

"Ordered a sausage egg and cheese online around 9:30 on a Sunday morning and it was done within about 7min. I remember thinking "Damn, $10 is kinda expensive for a sandwich". When I came inside to pick it up I realized I forgot to order coffee. So I asked if I could get the "honey cinn. iced" that was on the coffee menu (didn't have a price next to the menu), but I asked if I could get it hot instead. For the sandwich it's definitely worth the $10. It was a very thick sandwich and they didn't skimp on the egg. Came with a spicy green and flavorful sauce on the side which was delicious. However, the coffee was not worth the $11 I paid for :( Idek what made it that price. I didn't order any substitutes and aside from the $1 I gave as a tip I was confused but decided to pay for it because maybe it was some type of special Ethiopian latte. Boy was I wrong. It just tastes like regular (and veryyyy light) drip coffee with a splash of milk. No honey or cinnamon taste. I was disappointed enough to take two stars off since this is suppose to be a Café afterall and coffee is a huge factor in that."

"What they lack in curb appeal they make up for in taste and quality of ingredients. The fact that this business still hasn't been claimed by the business owner makes me respect it even more. He's busy making these kick ass gyros and probably has no idea how to work a computer, like a true man of Greek culture. I'm pretty sure I was the only person there that was new. "Will I come back here? ABSOLUTELYFirst off...a happy hour? On a Saturday? From 3:30-6:30? The oysters were amazing, the crab cake sliders and the buffalo chicken sliders were the perfect touch. Unfortunately they didn't make the photo because they were gone in 2 seconds. The beer selection is top tier and the service was good. My only wish is that they opened the patio coming in because the view would've been a little better instead of the patio on the side but didn't stop our grub on at all."

"Solid little bar in Columbia Heights! The upstairs roof has tables to hang at and some seating at the bar. It's definitely tight though and not the spot for more than 6ish people. In the winter they put heaters up there for you to stay warm. The beers are on the cheaper side & they have some solid snack food. Can never go wrong with their fries. All in all a good spot to catch up with friends! Bathrooms are gender neutral (single stall). LGBTQ friendly. There is a stair to enter the bar initially and then the roof has a ton of stairs and is tight for folks with limited mobility."

Unfortunately, that's where the positives end.All menu items are in the upper $10s, I know inflation has been hard but a single enchilada is not worth $18. Gotta pay the rent somehow I suppose, may as well charge the tourists.Reggaeton was playing extremely loudly and it was difficult to hear, even though we were rather far from the bar area.Either my taste buds were broken this night or the food was truly nondescript, but I couldn't tell the difference between the salsas, or between the al pastor, carnitas, and the beef. The cheese under the black beans was a great touch though, but nothing standout.After the waitress brought the check, she didn't come back for it. My partner used the restroom and after they were done, the waitress still hadn't shown up, so I had to go up and bring the bill directly to her.All in all, feels like a tourist trap, won't be back anytime soon. To note, the restaurant has a two story lounge with an open air patio. A couple of blocks from the Farragut North Metro Station - Red Line. I'll definitely make my way back here, especially to visit the Sky Bar."

"We came for Sunday brunch and it was packed so a reservation is recommended. I got the smoked salmon omelette and the italiana. The omelette was decent, and was a little broken when it came to the table. The breakfast potatoes were good though, with the perfect crispy ratio. The Italiana was good, and you do get that slight taste of lychee which I enjoyed.Service was quite slow, and it took awhile to get a server's attention just because of how busy it was. Our server was sweet and friendly though. There is a Yelp-check in offer of a free limoncello shot for the table; our server wasn't sure if the restaurant was still honoring it but she gave it to us anyways. It wasn't a good limoncello shot but I appreciated our server for putting it for us.They offer a daily happy hour 4-7pm at the bar, and a all night happy hour Sunday and Monday 4-10pm at the bar. I would rate it a 3.75/4, rounding up to a 4/5."

"We came here for dinner on a weekday evening and had a good experience. The meal started out with complimentary chips and salsa, and we also ordered some guacamole on the side. The guacamole was good, but the small cup was a bit expensive at $8.I got chicken fajitas, which came with onions, peppers, and zucchini, and sides of guacamole, rice, refried beans, and tortillas. I liked this, and it was a very generous portion size. I also tried my husband's mole poblano, which was good, and my kid really liked the kids' quesadilla they made him. Service was very friendly. Overall, a solid meal at a nice neighborhood spot, and we'd come back if in the area."

"Was in Alexandria running errands waiting for one of the big box stores to open and decided to have breakfast. Parking lot was small but we had arrived fairly early on a Sunday morning so we were able to snag a spot. We were greeted and seated right away. We placed our order and it came out rather quick. I got the country fried steak and eggs breakfast; husband got the corned beef hash and eggs and we both opted for home fries tho fruit and grits were options. The country fried steak breakfast was good. The gravy had a great flavor and the breading for the chicken wasn't your typical breaded batter; it was a tempura batter. This was the first time I had it prepared that way and I wasn't mad at it tho I do prefer the traditional method. My home fries were also not made with your usual russet potato; they were made with red potatoes..again not what I was expecting. Some of them were slightly undercooked and lacked seasoning. My husband's potatoes in contrast were the total opposite. His potatoes were cooked thoroughly and had great flavor. He tasted my potatoes and exclaimed how they were nothing like his. Same exact dish, two very different executions. I concluded that the corned beef hash that sat on his potatoes must have contributed to the flavor. My eggs were cooked exactly how I asked, scrambled soft. Not many places get them right for me, but they were perfect! We also ordered an entree of french toast to share and it was ok. I honestly wanted pancakes but unless you get the executive breakfast platter, or order a single pancake for nearly five bucks, pancakes aren't offered. As for the French toast, I should have opted for this as a side (or not at all). But, unfortunately, unless you get the full size, you don't get the berries and whipped cream that comes with a full size serving (waitress made that very clear) and it needs those accompaniments to give it umph. Otherwise it is just deep fried bread and I feel like the bread was lacking. It wasn't challah or brioche even..it appeared to be plain white bread and whatever custard they used didn't appear to include any sweet nor spicy notes like cinnamon or nutmeg, because again, the syrup, whipped cream and berries gave the french toast its flavor. To have this as a side, you'd just be tasting deep fried toast with syrup (if that's what you like on your french toast). I actually would skip on getting this altogether honestly. All in all I would come back to try other dishes. The restaurant vibes were cool and the lighting was perfect; not too bright, not too dim. The service was okay as well, but not extraordinary. Wait staff were pleasant enough."

"Came here for St. Patties day and didn't realize how LOVED this place is hahaha. They had a lot going on. They charged a $10 cover to enter, even if you're there to order a meal. I thought that was kinda lame. The vibes here were EVERYTHING, they had Irish dancers and live music. We did not reserve in advance so we had to do bar seating which was first come first serve. Theres an upstairs and a downstairs area. There's a parking garage across the street it's a small lot, but I believe it was free. The drinks in tap were really good! We ordered Guinness which was delicious. We ordered: Sticky Toffee pudding 7/10Shepards Pie 8/10St. James Gate Guinness Beef Stew 100/10Fish & Chips 8/10We literally loved everything we ordered!!! "Today, my social group DMV Does took over the back bar for the Eagles vs Commanders. Who knew this was the popular Eagles bar!!! The patio is a vibe. The inside is electric and fun. The food was good. I had the whiskey bbq wings and fries for the game watch. I also had a lemon drop and am espresso martini. Olivia was the manager who set up the wonderful accommodations! I want to shout out Kyrin who was our server. He was attentive, sweet, knowledgeable and held down a group of over 30 people! Kudos to him!I can wait to come back!"

The sandwich shop is clean and super organized. The cashier was incredibly friendly and helpful. Restroom is in the back and clean as well. There is also a diaper changing table in there. Tried their Roast Beef & Cheddar Sandwich, Sweet Potato Fries, Hand-Cut French Fries, and Fish & Chips Basket. It was all very good! Quality ingredients are used and the flavors are all there. We each got a messy egg breakfast sandwich and coffee. I also tried their seasonal lavender iced tea, which was very tasty. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Ambiance is friendly and there's some seating indoors and outdoors, though limited. They offer amazing pastries and an assortment of dry goods, spreads, pastas, cheese, and more! I felt like the more I looked the more I found. I ended taking a loaf of banana bread home with me and my roommates and I enjoyed every bite throughout the week. Can't wait to go back!"

"Once again wonderful friends have introduced us to an excellent Springfield restaurant! Eleni's Greek Taverna is literally a hidden gem. We had the Cheese Saganani (fried cheese) that was served flambé at the table! The cheese was served with pita. The Greek Garden side salad of course has the mandatory feta cheese, fresh and crisp greens and an herbed creamy dressing. The Mousaka [sic] was the best in the region! Eleni's Mousaka is a huge portion of this classic Greek casserole dish. As described in the menu it is made with layers of potatoes, eggplant, seasoned ground beef and topped with a creamy bechamel sauce baked to golden perfection. I'd go back for that for done in or carry out! Other dishes enjoyed by our party were the gyros platter with lots of crispy fries and a Greek omelette, both of which were devoured and obviously enjoyed! Did I mention that Eleni's serves all day breakfast? We will need to go back soon to explore more of that part of the extensive menu.The atmosphere was very family! Our waitress is the mother of Eleni's and is familiar with our friends. She was glad to see them and asked about happenings in their lives, and our friends reciprocated the conversation. Where were introduced as friends and were addressed by our first names during the meal, true to a Greek family gathering.We had an amazing time and enjoyed the white and blue themed paint surrounding the Greek decor that lent a special ambiance.Prices for these very large portions of very well made Greek food were very reasonable, making our meals a high value for the dollar.We must return to try all of our Greek favorites and Eleni's specialties! It felt family style instead of tapas because the dishes were generously big for tapas. My favorites were the falafel and the beef sausage (Sosis Bandari) but every dish was flavorful!The space is beautiful and our server was very friendly. "Mangialardo's is a hallmark of D.C. food culture. They have been around forever and it taste delicious as ever, fresh as it always has been, and continually delivers value. Pick your sub roll (soft or hard). Decide on whether you want it cold or oven-warmed. I adore the tuna salad cold sub on a soft roll with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayonnaise, sweet peppers, and oil-vinegar. So simple, but just masterfully made. Those topping are it too, except they have mustard and S&P. No fancy micro-greens or avocado or gimmicky aiolis. Back in the day (been coming here since the 1970s as a kid) the turkey and cheese sub was my go to. It is flavorful and hearty with a perfect meat-to-bread ratio. Those who partake in pork seem to love the "G" man sub that features salami, mortadella, pepperoni, and cheese. Of the hot subs I get the pizza sub with no meat but extra cheese. The red gravy and cheese just melts into the soft roll to form a chef's dream school lunch French bread style pizza. The corned beef and the pastrami subs are excellent too. Every once in a while they have macaroni salad (perfectly prepared) but the real side are a bag of chips. Give me Utz crab flavor or an old school bag of pretzels. The owner's family sells homemade brownies that are divine. Nothing fancy, probably a box of Betty Crocker brownie mix, but I get them every time with no complaints.The family-run sandwich shop has a perfect menu consisting of freshly made sandwiches that are classics. If you are fed up with places that are more concerned about wowing you with an exotic ingredient no matter whether it is good on a sandwich, or places that are more bourgeoisie in style over working-class substance, then Mangialardo's is for you. Carry-out only, but the services is excellent. Knowing their customers and treating them like family (old faces and newbies alike) is my favorite part about coming. They been in the same place for decades! Even the call ahead ordering number, (202) 543-6212, has not changed since at least the 1970s, when you didn't have to dial the area code to call within the city. Old school, simple, classic. Five stars easily."
