I have been coming to the O.B. pier Cafe ever since I arrived in San Diego over 40 years ago, and not much has changed. The owners and the staff that run this rustic Cafe are wonderful and accommodating people. The food is consistently good and the prices - for this day and age - are reasonable. Don't expect tablecloths and silverware. Far from it. But what is omitted in fancy dining is more than made up in rustic charm, and a world class view of the Southern California coastline. The experience is highly recommended .

No wait 9am on Sunday morning. Lovely little cafe over the ocean with nice traditional styling. Happy to be here after they were closed for 6 months. Reopened as of 7/4

A not so hidden gem in OB, every time I need a little break, I find myself coming here for a relaxing breakfast at the pier. The food is hearty and comforting, the service has been great every time, the views and ambiance are the winner here. Chill, local vibe, one of my favorite places in SD

Unique place to dine, un matched view, inside and outdoor seating, quick and friendly service, good lobster tacos, quite a menu to choose, friendly and quick service, good portions, reasonable price, no wait time at Sunday noon. Recommended. Focus on Mexican dishes, you won't be disappointed.

While my wife and I were doing tourist things and visiting the pier, a local suggested to us to try this place, so we did. It's a small shack with outside tables towards the end of a very long pier. As you walk down the pier you can watch the surfers tackle the waves. My first disappointment was they do not serve alcohol. I was craving a cold beer after walking around the town and couldn't wait to sit down and enjoy one. But immediately we learned they don't serve it. I don't know if it's because they have no liquor license or because local law prohibits alcohol on the pier, but either way, it sucked. So unsweetened iced tea and Pepsi it was. Ugh. Like kissing your sister. Anyway, we settled on the tacos. My wife the lobster and me, the Mahi. They were OK, but not fantastic. The Cole slaw that came with it was good. Then there was this unidentifiable thing, a piece of bread of sorts, covered in some sort of gravy. A couple of bites and I decided it was not to my taste and certainly not worth the calories. So we left feeling like we should have eaten (and drank) at one of the many pubs and restaurants in the town.

DELICIOUS! FRESH! SOO GOOD! The best burger I've ever eaten and these nachos hit the spot! I got the full order and had so much leftover I would recommend the half order if you don't want to carry around a box of leftovers. The burger was so juicy and savory and the fries that came with it were so crispy! 11/10

Meh.The only thing impressive about this place is it's location. It's quaint. The wait staff was fine. No complaints there. (The inside was noisy, even though it's only 1/3 full. Should have chosen to sit outside, my bad. The French toast tasted like it was cooked on a dirty skillet, the sausage and syrup were obviously cheap as hell generic brand. The Sausage Was dry, the syrup not sweet at all. The eggs in the omelette we're rubbery, like they were cooked on a microwave. The views were delightful, though. So we had that going for us, which was nice.
