Volo Restaurant Wine Bar

WOW! I was absolutely blown away by Volo Restaurant Wine Bar this past weekend! Everything from the exceptional hidden patio and cabanas to the delicious spritzes and food was spot on - and the great happy hour deals (especially on a weekend!!) were an added bonus! Here's a breakdown of what we got & what I'd absolutely recommend (although everything we ordered was phenomenal!): -12 of the $1 Happy Hour Oysters (YUM) - Happy Hour Toast (ours was a yummy whipped ricotta with honey served with crackers) - $4 - Spritzes! We tried the Aperol Spritz, Aviation Spritz, and the Venetian Spritz - all were $7 for Happy Hour! - Red Sangria - I also tried the red sangria and it was delish! $8 during happy hour - Sweet Pea & Parmesan Flatbread - a bit thinner than I would have expected, but the flavor was incredible! $19 - but $3 off during happy hour - Mussels - their mussels are made with incredible French butter that gives these such a great flavor! Plus it's served with a BOMB baguette! $27-Salted Caramel Chocolate Mousse was exceptional!! Sooooo so good, not too rich and the perfect size! $12All in all, I can't recommend this spot more for a GREAT date night - their 4-6pm happy hour every day is unbeatable! As an ex server, I give a lot of grace. But I can't give grace when I literally never see a server. A woman in a skirt finally came by with an iPhone after sitting with our menus for about 15-20 minutes. Takes our drink and food order with literally no acknowledgment, and I literally never saw her again. Another girl brought side plates and silverware and then later brought our food. (Taste was alright, but my tuna Niçoise salad was like 2 minuscule bites of tuna, a teeny bit of salad, and the olives still had pits which is wild so I was just entirely disappointed with my meal)Finished our drinks and someone swiftly came and took our glasses but never asked any questions or said a word. Finally got the ladies attention to get a check, which we immediately put our card in but she was long gone. After a good bit of waiting I got up to go inside to get checked out. Overall just not really a good time which is highly disappointing because my mom chose this for her birthday dinner and we just got completely ignored.

Please go to happy hour. It is the happiest of hours. Yes dollar oysters, drink specials and more. My wife and I came for wine and were treated to a warm welcome to us and our dog. The patio in the front is dog friendly during the warm season. I can't comment on the food since we didn't try it. There is a draft wine special for Red and White for 9 dollars a pour. Vast selection of wine accessible through their menu QR code. Street parking only, on the first floor so handicap accessible

Love this place. It is such a hidden gem. So cute and great service. The chocolate caramel desert is amazing!

We had been wanting to try this restaurant for the back patio and happy hour (which is on Saturdays) the back patio was lovely, but the menu and options were lacking in our opinion. The happy hours drinks were pretty small, so it didn't feel like a great deal to us. However, the unique drink options were fun for us to try! The flatbread was lacking. It seems like a great place if you want oysters!

The #1 Hidden patio in the city is located here and it is such a secret gem! The patio area is SO SPACIOUS and each cabana section is a cozy escape from the outside urban hustle and bustle Their Happy Hour runs Tuesday through Saturday, from 4pm-6pm and includes specials like $1 oysters, $2 Limoncello fizz shots, $3 off of their flatbreads!The wine selection here is impressive! Managing Partner Jon, curates the list of wines himself and has won awards like Best Wine Bar and Best Wine List, in Chicago. Fabulous!!!The food presentation- the dishes were almost too pretty to eat! This is the best little hidden wine garden in Chicago! The garden is open year-round, as it's tented and heated, so you can enjoy it no matter what weather Mother Nature throws at us. It's the cutest destination for a date night or ladies' night, especially if you can score yourself one of their adorable private cabanas. This is one of my favorite places to sip wine, nibble on meats and cheeses and try some fabulous seasonally-inspired dishes. During our most recent visit, they started us off with a complimentary glass of elegant Castell de Sant Pau Cava Brut Nature. It was delightfully dry and delicious. We, then, began to explore their wine menu. With over 30 boutique wine options, they have a lot to choose from! We opted for the 2022 Langlois-Chateau Sancerre. It was light and crisp and paired perfectly with our dishes. For food during our most recent visit, we ordered several items to share, including the Steak Tartare, the Cheese Plate, the Mussels, the Scottish Salmon and the Salted Caramel Chocolate Mousse. Everything was really great! We especially adored the Steak Tartare, the Mussels and the Scottish Salmon--all flavorful dishes and very well-prepared.Such a nice little evening! A special thanks to our server, Hristina, who was super knowledgeable and friendly, making our night extra special. You must check out this beautiful location! I love happy hour at Volo! They have the best hidden patio that is such a vibe with cabanas! They offer $1 oysters S2 limoncello shots, $3 off flatbreads, $4 happy hour toasts, $5 craft beer $6 wine on top, $7 happy hour spritz menu and $8 house-made sangria. The food is always fresh and delicious and the drinks are always tasty! This is a place I love to bring out of town guests! Highly recommend!

For any wine lovers our there, the Volo Restaurant Wine Happy Hour is the place to be! One dollar oysters, $6 wines on tap, and $2 limoncello shots truly made for a delicious experience - and the cabana patio set it over the top!
