When in Scottsdale... do as the... no, when in Scottsdale, visit Paris!Stepping into Voila French Bistro in Scottsdale is like crossing a magical threshold into the heart of Paris. The moment I walked in, I felt an almost surreal wave of nostalgia as the melody of "La Mer" played softly in my mind, conjuring memories of my travels through Europe. This charming bistro, tucked away in east Scottsdale, effortlessly transported me back to those cherished moments. The ambiance was delightful, with the unmistakable elegance of a French bistro. I took my seat, eagerly anticipating the culinary journey ahead. For my main course, I chose the Chateaubriand, and let me tell you, c'est fantastique! The tender, succulent beef was perfectly cooked and accompanied by a selection of sides that complemented it beautifully. Each bite was a testament to the artistry and passion that goes into every dish at Voila. The owners of this gem are French natives who have embraced the American dream while keeping their French roots alive. They live in the community, having semi-retired from their day jobs to follow their passion for bringing haute French cuisine to our little corner of east Scottsdale. Their dedication to authenticity and excellence is evident in every aspect of the dining experience.I must confess, French cuisine is not something I indulge in often, and almost never outside of France or New York. So, imagine my surprise and delight to discover a place of such high caliber just a five-minute drive from my home. It felt almost unbelievable to find such a culinary treasure in my own neighborhood. The service at Voila French Bistro was impeccable and very French. The wait staff exhibited a refined attentiveness, responding to visual cues rather than engaging in unnecessary chit-chat. This subtle, yet sophisticated approach made the dining experience even more authentic. They timed the courses perfectly, ensuring my water glass was never empty and swiftly clearing plates once I finished.I took an important client of mine to Voila, and she was equally impressed with the quality and authenticity of the food. The evening was a resounding success, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to showcase the culinary excellence that Scottsdale has to offer. In a city where dining options are abundant, Voila French Bistro stands out as a beacon of Parisian charm and gastronomic delight. Whether you're a connoisseur of French cuisine or simply seeking an extraordinary dining experience, this bistro is a must-visit. When in Scottsdale, embrace the spirit of Paris and let Voila French Bistro take you on an unforgettable culinary adventure.Bon appétit et bonne santé!

I love everything about this French restaurant! The food is incredible! The atmosphere makes it feel elegant and warm, and our server was so friendly. The wine list has a wonderful selection of French wine, and I love their cocktails. The desserts are exquisite & picture-perfect! The Millefeuille's thin puff pastry layers and lemon custard have the classic fondant glaze (You can see here as we cut into it), and the glossy raspberry Miroir dessert with delicious layers of raspberry mousse, gel & cake was even better than it looks if you can imagine that. The bistro is family-owned, which really adds to the charming and inviting atmosphere. Chef Jean-Christophe is a renowned chef who worked in several Michelin-star restaurants, & was the owner of 3 hotel restaurants, in France! And his lovely wife was so gracious making sure that we were delighted with everything. A perfect starter to share is "Fromages & Charcuteries." It had an haute cuisine array of fine cheeses, paté and other meats, almonds, grapes, gherkins, and 2 crostini. (I had wished that there were a few more for the spreadable and meats.)If you're more of a meat lover than a seafood lover, the Coq au vin is fantastic! It was so tender, in a red wine sauce with mushrooms, bacon, onion & perfectly cooked asparagus spears resting on top with a crescent-cut piece of puff pastry served in a LeCreuset bowl. Now, I'm not even a fan of seafood, but the following dishes are so amazing that I still can't forget how much I was blown away. The "Esturgeon Fume" is absolutely incredible. I love the way fresh, paper-thin slices of sturgeon are "swimming" in a creamy Beurre Blanc sauce that is so good that I could have easily had it as a bowl of soup. The "La Noix De Saint Jacques" is one of my favorites. You'll think you died & went to "puff pastry Beurre Blanc" heaven. A puff pastry cut similar to a bun, I guess you could say (with a top and bottom), has tender & perfectly seared scallops on a bed of "spinach & Beurre Blanc" in the middle layer and is surrounded by more sauce on the plate to make the dish so incredible that you will definitely want it again! If you are really in the seafood mood, order the "La Choucroute." You can see in the photo, that there's shrimp, mussels, scallops, salmon, and cod with baby potatoes, and it has a Reisling wine cream sauce.Speaking of wine, we had a wonderful bottle of French wine (ask for this one), the 2018 Marsannay. And, I don't know if you perused all of my photos, but our cocktails before dinner were delicious as we enjoyed them with the bread and butter. My lemon martini was fantastic & fun. When I was there for my birthday, they so thoughtfully made me the special dessert shown here in the martini glass with 3 meringues & 3 raspberry cake cut-outs in vibrantly delicious lemon curd (with a candle). I thought that it was perfect that they put 3 of each little treat in there for the lovely balanced presentation but especially because there were 3 of us dining that night & I was able to share the "scrumptiousness."Overall, this French bistro is an absolute must-visit. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner & wine for two or a wonderful meal & cocktails with friends, this restaurant makes a wonderful impression and experience.

wanted something different, and I wanted to forego any trendy, short-lived restaurants. I found this quaint spot because it took over a space that used to be our favorite cafe when we lived in the area long before kids. I googled to see what had taken it over and found amazing reviews that made my mouth water! It's a small french bistro that's only open five nights a week for a few hours. Family owned and operated by a lovely french couple. Chef Jean-Christophe worked in Michelin star restaurants for years in France. His wife, Segolene, is a lovely woman who made great suggestions and served all the beautiful dishes.I started with a french martini and my husband with his go-to lemon drop. Our hors d'oeuvres was smoked salmon and capers on toast. For my entree I chose The scallops on a bed of spinach, topped with a puff pastry, and served with a shallot sauce. Rich, creamy and wonderful. My husband chose the rack of lamb with potatoes au gratin. It was served in a beautiful flaming presentation. For dessert we sipped cappuccinos while enjoying our lemon meringue and chocolate tarts. We were the youngest couple by 30 years. It was quiet and lovely listening to other patrons talk with Segolene about their families coming from France or their past European trips.

I really wanted to love this bistro but three stars is what my experience left me with. The service, lead by the wife and part owner of the bistro was polite and gracious. The other two younger servers were courteous as well. The outdoor dining area looks like it could be part of a movie set! The indoor seating area is smaller but quaint. The fromages & charcuteries Hors d'Oeuvre $29 included, pickles, two milk cheeses, goat cheese , pate in house made sausage and three toasted croutons. We enjoyed four out of the eight offerings that were delightfully presented. We left the rest. The L'Agneau/rack of lamb $43 was cooked to my liking but was not as tasty as others I've had around town and was barely warm as was the accompanying pesto sauce. Hot was the potatoes Au gratin that was beyond lip smacking. I tend to agree with my fellow dining partners that their Le Salmon /cooked salmon $27 wrapped in a potato crepe with spinach and butter was just alright. We selected a chocolate tart $9 and a Le Millefeuille/Napolean $9 for dessert. The chocolate tart was delicious, sweet and rich but not over the top rich. Wonderful. The Napolean layers were soft and not baked that day like I was told it was but it filled the sweet craving I had. Deluxe service, classy dining area outside, cozy dinner area inside...........for me, the cuisine needs to be on the same level for me to return.

This place is just gross. Sorry but go find out for yourselves. Beware. I had to dispute a $60 charge the restaurant charged me after we arrived and spoke to the manager that we did not feel well and had to leave due to the smell of rotting flesh and sewage. They have some audacity charging a no show fee when we were indeed there. In addition the establishment smells like a sewer pipe. Now I have to go through the trouble of disputing a $60 theft charge by the restaurant after they explained it's only for those who do not show and assured us we would not be charged. It's principal not the cash. VIEW THE PHOTOS!Open table confirmed they completed the reservation and are now trying to charge me. Comical and shameful. Avoid this place at all costs. You have to love the restaurant response. Do your research folks....and to the business owner clean the place up!Check the health violations and recent April 2023 health score. I wonder why that's not posted on the wall. Hmmmmm

New ownership but same excellent cuisine and service. This is a lovely bistro with the most gracious lovely service. I had the scallops in puff pastry. The scallops were large and perfectly cooked, caramelized on the outside and tender and sweet inside. The beurre blanc was perfection. My fiancé had the sole meunière and loved it. It was his birthday and they had the table decorated so cute for him and surprised him with a lovely dessert.
