I really like Zoll winery. Relaxing location, nice people and good wine. We had the Viognier and it was quite good. We sat outside and enjoyed the sun and wine on a beautiful fall day. This is a locally owned, family place. We will definitely be back.

Come for the wine, but don't leave without trying the pickles! All the pickles! Zoll vineyards has a storied past that began when the owner, Frank, was 4 years old making pies with his grandmother. It was no surprise he ended up at Johnson and Wales majoring in Food Science studying Baking and Pastry Arts. At some point in his career he shifted to wine making and found his way to Virginia. Zoll vineyards is a young winery offering wines, sangria, and ciders. They have a chef on staff who's offerings compliment the wines well! The venue structure was something else prior, but they're making it work well. They have a Great Room for up to 200 guest events. There's an nice size interior tasting room, plus ample outside seating. Decor is a tad lacking, but the staff and offerings more than make up for it! We had a wine tasting and sangria tasting, the fried pickle dip and pickle flight. You MUST try the pickles! I rarely comment on wines. Individual preferences, pairings, temperature...so many factors influence tastings! But, worth mentioning, we were pleasantly surprised by the rosé. My husband loves Chambourcin, and wanted to discount it because it's a rosé, until he tried it! We left with several bottles. Our wine scope expanded yet again! One of the reasons we love wine. There's always something new to learn and appreciate! Did I mention, try anything pickles. The chef has a garden where he grows cucumbers. He has to purchase them out of season, of course. His Mexican pickle is definitely a 'take several jars home' worthy! Then again, so are the sweet and sour, and ?!? Can't recall but they are served alongside the fried pickle spread. Truly, the chef is a brine chemist! Cheers!

The exterior of the facility is not on par with what one may be used to seeing on the Virginia Wine Trail or a couple of other vineyards on the Northern Neck... the interior is okay. I tried the pickles that others talked about. Ummm. Nothing special. The wine was okay. These days, wineries are ranked not just by their wine but by their atmosphere / ambience, their trendy and alluring design and decor. You won't find that here.

Price of their flights is ridiculously high. 4 tastings with a 4oz pour is $24! We opted for the 2oz pours for about $3. We tried the chardonnay, pinot grigio, rose, reserve crab franc, lighthouse blend, Mariners blend... none of which were great. We also ordered some food with the tastings. My companion got the pot roast panini (roast beef) and I got the pimento cheese waffle. I was told the roast beef panini was good, my pimento sandwich was very bland. The sandwiches came with a variety of pickled items which were pretty good and was the most flavorful thing we ate there. All in all not a great experience. The winery was housed in an old building that resembled mayne an old school? And the vineyard..... let's just say we can be sure none of the wines we tasted came from the property. Very disappointing, I would not recommend.

Nice country scenery. We were the only ones there on a week day so service was good. The food was good. The pickles were delectable.

Our party chose zoll vineyards for a bachelorette trip. Unfortunately the experience left much to be desired. While the red mariner wine excellent, the whites had no body and tasted like they were watered down. The quality of cheeses on the cheese board were low, specifically of the provolone which was akin to deli meat. The bread on the breadchutterie was great. The spreads were a little hard to enjoy since they were still cold and hard to spread. They were generous with the crackers considering most things that came with crackers were a whole sleeve; however, they were just regular Keebler club crackers. The amount of crackers felt like it was just a way to try and justify the price of the board and fluff it up a bit. By far the most egregious part of the evening was when someone in our party informed the waitress of her poor experience with the food. The waitress was lovely and attentive. However the owner was overtly defensive. It was explained to him that she wasn't looking for her meal to be comped, but to express concerns over her experience. His response was that we don't advertise the steak bomb as steak but a pot roast (even tho the name has steak in the name) and that they don't make the food on site they just reheat it. (Again egregious for what they're charging for food). And that he couldn't comp meals because that was just "part of the experience." Sadly we didn't see mircowave dinners advertised anywhere before hand or we would have gladly opted out of this experience. Instead his insane solution was to decrease the gratuity on our checks. I cannot believe that a business owner thought it appropriate to make up for his poor business practices by decreasing his employees pay.

Went this past weekend with a friend. This was the first time I've been here. The outside is much to be desired, but the food and wine were on point! We had the sangria flight along with a sandwich and chocolate strawberries. Everything was delicious! The other review was 100% on par about the pickles! (I even ordered a container to go, they were so good!) The food, wine and service were amazing! I cannot wait to go back! We've told all our friends that we will be taking them in the near future!

In town for a ladies weekend and Zoll did not disappoint! Wonderful wines and sangrias, seasonal slushies PLUS amazing food from a chef that is enthusiastic and creative. The steak salad was phenomenal, pimento cheese tray with pickles is a must! All of the staff was friendly and welcoming, plus the history of the building is something to ask about. Don't miss this amazing winery, and don't forget it for a great event location. Their Great Room is beautiful and would create an amazing atmosphere for any occasion. I can't wait for another getaway so we can visit again!
