My family got together with some of my good friends for dinner. They suggested this location. It's a set price ( all you can eat ) Japanese/ Chinese Buffet. The food was constantly being restocked as we made our way down the buffet line. The deep fried scallops, the honey chicken and fried dumplings were amazing! The coconut shrimp was definitely the highlight of the Chinese buffet. The wait staff routinely refilled our drinks during our time there. They also offered the ice cream desert buffet. I just wish I had saved some room for that. I really liked the set price aspect of this location. I am sure we will be returning in the future.

UK buffet is still our go to for all celebrations, including the times we celebrate ourselves! Even our foodie son from the West Coast was duly impressed with the quality of the sushi and the other offerings. The weekdays are great, but the weekends have a lot more to offer ( at a higher price, of course) including more Dim Sum selections. We especially love the sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves. The steamed flounder and salmon are spectacular. The sushi is fresh and they come up with unusual combination rolls. My wife especially liked the combo roll that had banana in it and another roll that had cooked salmon and eel. Finally, we love the desserts, especially the sesame balls, tiny cheesecakes and pineapple cakes.Yukai is one of the best values in Virginia Beach especially if you like sushi. They have a nice general selection of cooked Chinese food. The hibachi/Mongolian Grill can be done to order with a great selection of sauces and proteins. We always found the staff to be friendly and efficient.

From the outside the place looks plain, almost industrial. But when you enter, there is a foyer that is lit with lights like a patio, with flowing fish pond to the right. The dining area looks spacious and clean. The service was friendly (greetings as you enter), you get seated right away. Wait staff is friendly and polite, they give you new set of chopsticks each time you goBack to buffet for more. I asked for tea, I was given a whole carafe! There's a variety of food - sushi, desserts, cooked foods, etc. Price is around $20 per person. Worth it for variety and value.

Tonight, Yukai was packed!!! So much that people are waiting to be seated. Must be the dinner menu selection. There was fried pepper shrimp, crabs, shell fish, crawdads, steamed flounder, soups, and more. But my interest was the raw sushi bar. Unfortunately, the salmon on the salmon sushi was sliced paper thin on top of rice thats good enough to make three sushi. It was more like having a sliver of salmon with steamed rice However, with a bit of pickin and choosing, I managed to mitigate the ahhh man!!!! This is not sushi moment. Took some of the served salmon sushi and some of the salmon to make poke. Cut the sushi rice three ways, and added the poke salmon. Nicely done!!!! Thick slice of salmon over a very small portion of rice. Ika hit the spot after splitting the rice three ways also. I could have gone slsewhere however, WholeFoods was right around the corner..Cant say much on the other items on the buffet bar however, it must have been good, else the buffet line would have been nil.Ambiance has not changed. Still the same decor but I dis noticed that grandma owner was constantly keeping the buffet line clean, while other staff were either filling the buffet bar or serving customers. For desert, had to get some of their version of creme brulee. Just love the flavor. Has eniugh sweetness to knock away the fishy after taste and some lingering powdered wasabi.Overall, if it wasn't for the poke salmon, this would have been a disappointing cheap sushi night.

if I could give them a zero star, I would. This place was terrible!!!!! everything about it was absolutely disappointing. Came here based off of the 3.5 star review they HAD just to experience OLD, SOGGY, DISTASTEFUL FOOD. The fried sushi options were soggy. Raw tuna was sitting out without ice. they were throwing fresh food on top of old food. You can see based off the pictures dried food on the spoons. Serving spoons just sitting in food. The raw bar was just pitiful. there was not a variety of food. there was one kind of rice as shown in a picture. very few veggie options. I CAN GO ON FOR DAYS!!THE CHERRY IN TOP, they had no fried chicken!!!! i've never been to a buffet that had no Chinese fried chicken!!!! they said it was only served on Fridays. Imagine paying $21 to eat "buffet" to have half of a selection of food. this is by far my worst "buffet" experience EVER!!When I told the manager about my disliking of the food and service, she proceeded to tell me that I was the only one complaining! I found out to be very disrespectful as I had paid an abundance of money for me and my family to celebrate and eat. This was around Mid afternoon when food should've been fresh! it wasn't until I began taking pictures and complaining that they began to stir the food. we stayed all of 10 minutes ! I SWEAR before we ask to speak to a manager. I was more upset myself for even picking up the food without looking. The manager continue to charge us full price (-8 dollars for a "discount"). this was the most horrendous experience ever, and I hope no one ever eats here!!!!!

This is the first buffet that had decent sushi!!! There was a lot of fresh seafood and dimsum options. Loved the variety and how it also has pho. A very unique buffet and it's worth the extra money.

When I went there with my friends family this past weekend it was not as good as I remember. Understandable it's an all you can eat self serve buffet but still. It had been 20 minutes since opening and the food was barely warm and tasted off but I'm not sure how to describe it. Could be my taste buds having changed since the last time I was there which was some years ago.As for the service, it was as expected as the waitress was nice and kept up with filling our drinks and taking away plates. Other than that the restaurant was pretty much how I remembered it.

Food is amazing. The price is very reasonable for the amount of varieties you get. They have sushi, hibachi, chicken options, desserts, pho soup, a bit of seafood, and other options. Every time we have gone the service is always great! The waitresses are great and quick. The restaurant isn't fancy or anything but it has a nice vibe to it. Overall clean and welcoming restaurant. So much better than captain George's that is next door and charge twice the amount for food that is not good. Save your money and visit YUKAI!
