Sample flavors of different cultures when you visit Market Days - Lebanese, Greek, and Spanish food is available most Saturdays.
In addition to grass-fed pork and beef from local farmers, you'll find the freshest seafood selection--crab meat, oysters, fish & shrimp!
A sensory experience like none other. Smells from food trucks, vibrant colors of produce, live music--all with York River as the backdrop!
Melo Lion Meadery is in Seaford and Zeb's bees (also local) makes the honey. This was the first time I'd tasted mead - pretty good!
Candy cane beets from Penn Farm/Norma's produce were amazing. I bought them in early June and was told they'd be back in season come fall.

I highly recommend this great little festival with a nice selection of crafts like glassware, jewelry and soaps, local business booths and many food choices such as clam chowder from Matthews VA to Lebanese food, to Turkish pastries, macarons, cookies, fresh vegetables, eggs, food trucks, kettle corn, really there's something for everyone. A Fife and Drum band played and marched through numerous times and they had a great husband and wife duet singing and playing electric keyboard which added a nice festival feel to the beautiful sunny day with breezes blowing off the river. There are a few shops in the market area including a gift shop, bookstore with great used books, many on local history, some outdoor outfitters and a Ben and Jerry's. I recommend going early. The market starts at 8. We arrived around 930 and it was already very very crowded but luckily we found a parking spot in their small parking garage.

Yesterday was my first time at Yorktown Market Days!! It was perfect! This one was more Maritime-focused. They had the Nao Trinidad docked so we were able to see it for free and tour the ship. Then we went over to the market to buy some clam chowder (which was excellent) and my husband bought a falafel. I'm looking forward to checking out the holiday market that they do in December. Having the market by the water is such a treat... what a backdrop! It was a beautiful day yesterday so it was perfect to get out and be outdoors in downtown Yorktown!

While visiting Newport News, our friends took us to Yorktown Market Days - Harvest Festival at Riverwalk Landing. We enjoyed looking at locally crafted art (e.g., ribbon wreaths, pottery, glassblown pumpkins/gourds, wooden serverware, jewelry, freeze dried candies/taffies, scented soaps) and tasting mead from Breezy Hill Time Mead, sangria from Zoll Winery, kombucha from SoulSmith Kombucha, and sorrel. For $5, you can taste all meads at Breezy Hill Time Mead! This was the first time trying dry meads and they are not for me. Among the three Sangria tastings (Lime Cranberry, Vanilla Chai, and Spiced Blackberry), I enjoyed the Lime Cranberry and Spiced Blackberry. I wanted to buy a bottle of Lime Cranberry Sangria but they were sold out at the market. Among the Kombucha at SoulSmith Kombucha, I enjoyed Mango Pineapple and Red Ginseng. I learned that sorrel is non-alcoholic and could be added into a fruit smoothie or could be mixed with rum or vodka to make a cocktail.

Yeah, it was a rainy day but you can't stop the market, everything was moved into the parking garage do to rain, the vendors were on top of it. Selling everything from fresh produce to handmade wooden bowls, to honey wine etc, very eclectic and totally enjoyable including live music. If you enjoy farmers markets, it's a must to check them out.

Convenience and charm sum up this farmer's market.Located at Riverwalk Landing in Yorktown, it's not huge, but has a nice variety of vendors, featuring multiple local bakeries, restaurants, produce, etc. And tons of free samples. My favorite was the oyster stew from Kathi's of Mathews. Most of the vendors were located on the first floor of the large parking deck that serves Riverwalk, but there were also a couple of produce stands outside along Water Street. I ended up buying some peaches to take home from one of these stands (and couldn't resist eating one in the car on the way home).Parking was a breeze and free. It's great to bring the family and stay to enjoy the beach and scenic views of the York River.

We got here very early, and there weren't a ton of vendors there yet, but you need to get there super early in order to find close parking. As we walked around more vendors did show up; they have plenty of produce and a few art stands as well. I'd say it's a typical farmers market, but with a view.

I really enjoy this farmer's market, but I would love to see it grow bigger and even better. There are usually a few produce and bakery stands, homemade seasonings, cheeses, jams and jellies, dog treats, grass-fed beef and bison, plants, and sometimes some arts and crafts vendors. There is also live music. What I would really love to see here is the kind of vendor who provides ready-to-eat meals so that you can browse the goods while enjoying your breakfast and/or an early lunch.

Haven't been here in a while but summertime has less to offer than at other times if year; perhaps they are competing with CW for vendors?
