My friends and I made a reservation for 13 people for tea time yesterday (Sunday afternoon). We were very excited because it was a new experience and we wanted to dress up and have fun with it. Our reservation was for 2pm. When we got in, I believe there was another party at the table we were to be sat at. They ended up making room for us by making a long table. We were sat and looked at the menu to decide what to get. Our cups were filled with water while we looked. I decided on the petite York high tea. It came with a little of everything, which I enjoyed. Our server was a little...annoyed it seemed. He wasn't very friendly and as much as I tried to make it a good experience, he kind of brought down the vibe a little. After a few exchanges where he was a bit rude, some of us exchanged glances at each other. We were trying to figure out what was going on with him. One side of our table was offered more water, tea, and boxes. Our waiter got some people's tea out way after we had almost completely finished our tea. Same with food. I also asked for a tea refill after the other side was offered it, and he replied he will after he gets all the food out. I didn't realize some of our party didn't have food! We were almost finished! Of course they didn't make a fuss, so that's why no one else really noticed. I think some changes can be made in that department. Aside from that, the tea was especially good! The sandwiches were delicious as well. The scones were freshly baked and came out warm. It paired well with the York cream and lemon curd. I loved the little jelly doughnut as well. Despite some issues with service, we had a lovely time. I think we'll return with a smaller party next time.

I am grabbing a chance to update my review because this venue now serves breakfast. We stopped in for the full English breakfast and a Castle breakfast option, with a scotch egg. Every morsel was enjoyed. The eggs were fluffy and tasty. The bacon was well cooked and all the items were fresh. They have a $7.99 breakfast option and the full English is $15.99. The tea offerings as always are diverse and well brewed. They also offer dinner on Friday and Sat and I look forward to the bangers and mash!

I stopped by to check it out and I thought it was great. I had two cups of tea and some sandwiches. I will be back for the breakfast and dinner menus. I will update my review once I've been more exposed.

This was my first High Tea experience, I went with my Mother-in-law and Wifey. When you walk in it really has that old English feel, there's pictures of the royal family and there's an awesome little sitting room. If the weather is good I highly recommend the Garden it is relaxing and such a great view. The service is very nice and attentive. We had the Duke of York Tea Service for 3 which came with so much food I had to be rolled out of there! If you're familiar with these type of thing it came with the soup of the day, which was lobster bisque it was nice and creamy and not too boozy which is how I like it. Followed by some really fresh fruit and cheeses, the English little sandwiches where so good and of course the dessert/scones where on point! We had 3 different teas, Earl grey lavender, Spicy Peach, and Irish breakfast. I loved all 3 but I'm a classic guy so the Irish breakfast was my favorite. All and all I really enjoyed my first experience. Would come back!-Silver Fox Foodie

It was second time coming in and as with the first it did not disappoint! I even brought a good friend who shared her experience with Afternoon Tea in London where she studied for her Masters degree. We enjoyed reminiscing about our separate London Tea experiences as we enjoyed the elegance and delight of York Gardens and Tearoom, with our amazing Tea service by our friendly and thorough Tea host, Madison.

Great service and great afternoon tea.I am very discerning as a black woman in Yorktown, as I am not always welcome. This place gets 5 star for being friendly, welcoming, congenial, and very classy. The food was great, they have a A+ chef, and afternoon tea was so fun with my daughter. Will come again with friends. Wonderful service by Gina, Jonathan, and Jimmy.

The service was amazing especially considering there was 2 wait staff and we were outside for a mystery dinner! They were very attentive to us and made us feel welcomed and unrushed! The food was much better than I espected as I was there for the ambiance and recieved so much more! Jimmy, the owner, greeted and/or spoke with each guest which is impressive. The murder mystery was a wonderful "staycation" get away for me and my mom, which we both needed! This was the second time I had been there. The first time, my friend and I were treated like royalty by staff - I feel like a bad guest because I can not remember his name! There was nothing we asked for and didn't recieve and they were not out of anything.I hope to see more community programs here like the murder mystery dinner. I would love to see a tea party for adults. You know - hats, gloves, dresses or collared shirt and tie with danty flowers on the table. Thanks, Lisa

Really cool atmosphere! Old timey and British almost the loyalist side of yorktown haha! The Rea was amazing and the staff is very knowledgeable about the different teas, and there is a good description of each one. What a nice hidden gem!

Welcoming atmosphere with an old-fashioned tea room ambiance and attentive service. Everything I had was delicious - tomato soup, fresh-from-the-oven blueberry scone with lemon curd and York cream, and Earl Grey Lavender tea.

Visited the York Gardens & Tearoom with my friend recently. Service was lacking. Young girl who didn't seem to understand the word service. We had to go get her to tell her we were ready. She was engaged on some computer and didn't even make eye contact. Asked what was in their soup of the day was and she said I don't know. Didn't offer to find out. Sandwiches and desserts were average, scones and tea were good but I wouldn't do the full service tea again. Very hard to find as it's in the same parking lot as a landscaping company which I believe is also theirs and that sign is more obvious. Has good potential. Decor was good and bathroom clean. Nice gentleman greeted us.
