If warhammer and D&D is your thing (along with comics and collectibles) there's some great finds in this store and a very vast selection to choose from. Located at the very back of the store (once you're past the cashier, walk all the way over to the left and walk down the make shift corridor) is a game room where they play campaigns for extended hours - speaking of, the store stays open until very late for most nights! Customer service is impeccable, very helpful.

I've been coming here with my family for three years and finally decided to leave a review. Why did I take so long? Well the store has been going through changes and wasn't fair to criticize based on what was going on. This place has it all, board games, models, manga, comics and game rooms. The story is pretty organized and staff is nice. The guy who sits behind the counter is pretty knowledgeable on everything in the store so if he doesn't know it probably doesn't exist. I recommend this place if you like to support your local comic book, manga, gaming shop. These shops take a lot of time and money to keep open so by shopping here you help keep this place around for everyone's enjoyment.Don't forget to checkout their gaming schedule, if you like Warhammer, Dominion or anything else they might be playing it all night. * My Wife reminded me she was the one who found this place. Thanks babe!

Recently visited World's Best Comics looking for an issue of a certain comic book. Walking into the store you're instantly deep within the huge collection of comics, novels, and toys they have to offer as well as a friendly and warm welcome. Everything is separated out and organized which made looking for my item easier (I'm honestly not too familiar with the comic book world). The staff was very willing to offer help in locating the book and upon realizing they didn't have it, offered to take my info if they ever got it in and suggested other comics that my friend might have liked. They have everything you can possibly need to satisfy the nerd within you. Everything from Xmen and Superman to more obscure titles as well as Anime, Pokemon and more. Plus another unique advantage is they're open til midnight. And for the Dungeons and Dragons fans, they even have rooms for you to conducts your games in.

This store is huge! One of the biggest comic book stores I've been into. If you need anything I can almost guarantee that it's gonna be somewhere in this store. They have a huge wall that wraps around filled with manga from top to bottom. They have all sorts of things from pillows, backpacks, board games, board game pieces, backpacks. I would recommend this to anyone who loves comics/anime/manga/games. Staff was very friendly and helped me find exactly what I wanted. It is so hard to come out without wanting to spend lots of money

I don't know if this place was different in the past, but I was disappointed. I came in looking for back issue comics. They are stacked high into mountains of crumbling inaccurately labeled boxes, and the bigger mountain is almost completely inaccessible. You have to be a he-man to lift a few layers of boxes away, so heaven forbid if you're a normal-sized woman or scrawny dude who wants to check out some back issues. After all this cramped storage and lack of ease of access, I was expecting to be rewarded with a good price. One dollar, two dollars, cover price even? Nope. Four dollars for every single comic. Anyone who has seen back issues at other places knows that's ridiculous. Sorry, but comics from 10 years ago have not appreciated in value, and ones from 20 years ago aren't that expensive either. Stores with the comics actually displayed like they're meant to be sold don't even go near this price. The owner either hasn't done any research on it, or he loves comics so much that he doesn't want to part with any of them. A flimsy stack of 30 comics could have walked out the door for a happy 60 dollars. Instead I walked out with one. Perhaps it's my fault for not asking how much they were as I walked in, but my experience has been that prices are reasonable if they're not prominently posted. So, in sum, complete price mismatch. Priced like they're made of gold that you have to mine yourself, straight out of the mountain.

World's Best is a little out of the way and hidden near downtown Newport News off of Warwick Blvd. It is one of those "you have to just know" where it is, since it isn't near any major shopping malls or the city's bustling center. But, when you do find it, you can let out your inner dork and be delighted by a HUGE assortment of comics, anime, manga, figurines, and role play paraphernalia. Seriously.I don't think any other comic book store is as comprehensive as WB. Five years ago I used to haunt this place on a regular basis. Bob, the main man there, is more than willing to help you find anything you could ever need. He takes regular trips to Japan to find rare or difficult to acquire merchandise and is always willing to take a personal order. There are rooms upstairs for groups to meet up and game - which is super convenient. Forgot something at home? Need something last minute? Well you can easily go downstairs and find what you want!I am from an earlier generation of anime geek and so going to Bob's is always a treat. He has lots of merchandise for the old-gen anime seeker and, if you take the time, hang out in the isles for a while. You might find something unique stashed away in the corner somewhere. Something you couldn't find on e-bay, or at your recent convention. They have late hours and someone is always there. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

I really enjoy the variety of selection and the helpful staff. They also have tons of room for gaming, including a huge upstairs area, that I didn't know was there.

Very friendly. It was nice that they require customers to wash their hands during this pandemic. It is very proactive and I really applaud them for taking that extra step. They do have quite a large selection of TRPGs, board games and many used comics. Walked away with a few comics I was looking for. Patrick assisted me and was very nice. My _only_ complaint - and I stress the _only_ part - is that I wish they would use dividers for their older comics. It would make browsing through them much easier. That said, they are well worth the time and I can't wait for my next visit back.
