Take a early day from work. Go ahead and grab yourself a jar of the sweet pepper relish, those big ole green onion things with the big white bulbs, a fresh baked loaf, and a sugar baby. Stop at your favorite meat shop for a thick ribeye. When you get home, reverse sear that bad boy and toss those bulbs of onions in the pan afterwards. Enjoy with that sweet pepper relish. Place all evidence in dishwasher before family gets home.

We love Woods Orchard! Walking around in the pumpkin patch gives me just the right amount of October ambience. At this time of year there's not a lot to choose from in the patch, they make it easy for you by cutting most of them off the vine and bringing them into the store. They also have a fantastic variety of apples, squash, nuts and honey. I got 4 gorgeous Macintosh apples that I'm going to dip in chocolate later.

In my opinion, they are kind sweet people who are really just trying to do business. These are the kind of people that will walk up to you and ask you are you looking for something? Are you in need of help but don't take my word for it everybody has their own opinion about everything, go there. Try them for yourself.

This is a great little farm patch in the middle of city sprawl - the kiddo's preschool class did a field trip out here last year, so we came back again this year to pick pumpkins. They had some really big ones! Plus, lots of varieties - so various shades of orange, some white ones, and some greenish ones. They were all 49 cents a pound, which wasn't bad. We left with four and it was under $30. They had a tractor hayride you could take for $1 per person. In comparison to some of the other pumpkin patches in Glouster/Chesapeake/VA Beach, it doesn't have the bells and whistles with kid activities and such (but also doesn't charge an insane entry fee!). For showing up, picking a pumpkin and heading home, it was just the trick. Staff was super friendly, and you could buy all kinds of other produce in their general store area. We'll definitely be back again to try their strawberry picking this year.

Went for strawberry picking but decided to just buy the already picked ones since it was muddy out. Everything they sell is locally grown, with most of it being from behind their building.I would suggest following them on Facebook, especially when planning to go strawberry picking. They close down randomly to take care of the crops and will not have strawberry picking if there aren't enough ready.

Went here today for their pumpkin patch. We live closer to Richmond, but have family in Hampton and went with them. The tractor ride was cute for the kids, but they charged us $1 each at the register for it when we told them we went on it. Wasn't worth the $1 since it is all within walking distance. The young lady and the younger lady that gave instructions for picking on the tractor ride were extremely nice. Their selections of all different kids of pumpkins were great. Prices for their pumpkins were reasonable and about the going rate at most patches. However, I don't care how fresh that produce they sell at the stand is, it simply is not worth the prices. We went to Dean and Don's for much cheaper produce that looked just as nice. Prices at Wood's were crazy high! The staff inside (like the woman at the register) deserve one star at best. No personality at all and a bit rude. You have to go there last to pay, so it kind of stinks that is the last impression that you are left with.

I was beyond thrilled to see Wood's Orchard carries Montana Gold products. These breads are the highest quality, most delicious I've ever tasted. Well, they were moldy. I was so sad and disappointed, I moved on to the melons, which should be bursting with aromas and sweetness since it is high summer. They were ice cold straight from a refrigerator and had the bland, non odor of a melon far far from home. I was in such high spirits when I got in my car to come here! Planning all the wonderful farm delights I would bring home. Leaving deflated with empty hands, my gaze went to a giant picture prominently displayed of the tiny handed, screaming carrot, cadet bone spurs, Trumplethinskin himself. This is a bad, bad, place.
