Rockfish Sandwich
Another good effort by our Goboy on a rainy weather....
Yorktown is the best of the two!
Par 3 tee box.
Golfing in the rain at Williamsburg National Golf Club.
Be careful on #14!
Practice putting green: as you can see, the surface is in rough shape.

Wow what a surprise and goodness... other golf clubs need to step up the food game! I was here for a golf tournament that required me to stay for a couple of days but unfortunately, we had awful weather that really took away from the beauty of what the golf course offered. It was totally soaked with the bunkers literally being under water and made for a long and hard "cart path only day". That lead to me not really observing the beauty of what the course offered as much as I should have. What I do remember is it playing long with some narrow holes but also lots of undulation and challenge that could fit to many golfers. I would really want to try it again when the weather is better to soak in what the course truly plays like versus mud balls all day long and walking through a swamp. However.....the Clubhouse was sensational! It was very covid friendly at the same time but what came out of that kitchen was nothing I ever imagined and at a prices that would blow your mind. What made it even more of a wow factor was due to the fact that the previous night, I really wanted to have a burger. I looked up a local Craft spot that seemed to be popular in that area and with it being a tournament with all the walking I was doing, I needed that "sustenance ". I wanted a great craft beer(s) and a solid burger. I ordered it and the burger was ok. Flavor was nice, etc etc... (that is another review on that place) and overall was pretty satisfied UNTIL...... the following day at The Williamsburg National Clubhouse! After the round was over and all the groups came in, I was enjoying just as good of an IPA but noticed that the prices was much cheaper? Great start so far but then I started to see food come out and was like "wow" thats a sandwich? It took us a while to tally up everything and with how tired I was, I was debating on eating dinner there. That was soon solidified when my golf buddy got the double stack burger. When that thing came out, I WAS LITERALLY FLOORED WITH MOUTH/EYES WIDE OPEN!!! I snatched the menu and looked for it. When I saw the prices, I about passed out on the floor. That soon made me feel very disappointed with what I had the previous night. In comparison, it was like a little "kids slider" vs this monstrosity!! Juicy massive patties, bacon, fried egg, pulled pork, onion rings....say WHAT???? and it was 5 dollars cheaper than what I got the night before? Dang!!!Being I already had a burger the night before, I didn't want to have all of that again but I had to taste it and it was just as delicious as it looked. It may still be the profile pic on the yelp page? I decided to get the Rock fish sandwich and that equally as amazing! Fried to perfection, soft bread, hot crispy fries.... umm I want another hahaha. Bottom line, the course is beautiful with two course you can play but definitely make sure you can ride it however..... the clubhouse blows away popular restaurants that I found based off of reviews and is definitely worth going there to see this hidden deliciousness! If I am in the area, forget about the restaurants, I am coming here to eat and enjoy the outside view of a very pretty course!

Staff was friendly, facilities were clean. Golf course layout was neat, greens played well. Cart room staff noticed that I left my sunglasses in the cart and brought them out to the lot for me. All that being said, this is by no stretch of the imagination a course I would EVER pay $90 for again. I was very disappointed, borderline angry with the condition of the course at this cost. Some of the tee boxes were chewed up, and there were lots of repair areas. Again, I am thoroughly disappointed to have paid this much, and see things like shown in the below pictures. Maybe I got the out of towner rate. In addition, how is there no military rate in such a military historical location? Makes no sense to me.

I've been a member for two months now and I couldn't be happier. Staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves generous portions while tasting great. Most importantly I notice money is being poured back into the facilities. Every time I'm out the grounds crew is working hard trying to improve both courses. I know my money is being put to good use and I hope to be a member for a long time.

The Jamestown course was closed for renovation. The Yorktown course was in rough shape. Starter explained that it was under new ownership and that the previous owner did not do proper up keep. He was hopeful that by next year the course would be back in good shape. So I will hold off until next year and maybe try it again.

Played both courses this week and absolutely love the Yorktown course. Jamestown (Nicklaus) course is ok, but Yorktown would be my choice always! Beautiful course, great shape! Green a little slow, but loved it! Food was very good and prices reasonable in the Nicklaus Grill. Staff was a+, start to finish!

This is a nice course, longer than most I play. Play was slow and we waited for five minutes or more at every hole and often had to wait another five minutes to take our second shot. The group ahead of us was waiting most every shot as well. The greens are not well maintained and were full of weeds that while cut short, still made reading them nearly impossible. Fairways were not in much better shape. Not sure I would play here again.

This was a great experience. Very personable customer service. The specials were sold out and the chef, George, came out and apologized and was very gracious. Our food options turned out very well and we will bereturning to have the next specials of the day. The wait staff handled the large "homecoming " crowd very well.

Great courses phenomenal staff. New course management has stepped up the game to an already well managed beautiful golf course. The restaurant is exceptional with wonderful staff(Patty is fantastic & always remembering dietary restrictions and the manager Chris is always delivering a great dining experience from service to quality of food and items on menu. You really cannot beat the quality and value. Rockfish sandwich is my favorite but you cannot go wrong with any of the offerings from breakfast lunch or dinner we are never disappointed. Highest recommendation!

Moved to the area a few months ago and played each course a couple of times during the winter. Conditions were terrible during that time, mostly drainage issues making a lot of holes mushy and swampy, so I was looking forward to playing it when it's green!Booked as a solo, arrived 45 minutes early, paid for the round and cart, hit a few balls at the range and putted for a bit on the practice green. The man behind the counter was polite, helpful, masked and told me it was "cart path only" today. Not a good sign as they only do that when the course is soggy. As I was getting ready to head to the first tee, the starter approached me, with his KN95 mask on, and told me there's a "two to a cart" rule. He then asked if I would mind sharing the cart with the other solo who booked the same time. I told him "No, I'm not comfortable sharing a cart with a stranger during a pandemic." He said "I'll see what I can do." and went back to the pro shop. A minute later he comes back and tells me I have to share the cart or go back and pay extra. They knew I was playing solo. They charged me for the cart when I paid. A half-hour later, they ask me to choose between paying more money or putting my health at risk.I went back to the pro shop, got a refund and left. Never going back.Hell of a way to lose a customer.

Played here on the hottest day of the year and it is playing great. We played The Yorktown Course -the greens, fairways, and bunkers were all in great shape. Pace of play was good. The unusual part of my day was staying for lunch. The food in the restaurant is priced great and much better than any other golf course food. Creative menu options-along with traditional fare. I will be going back often.
