Great place!! Staff were accommodating and pleasant. Would like to see a little more breakfast / snacks at the coffee shop onsite. However great local food places filled that gap!Place is clean, quant with a private balcony and fireplace. Fitness, Pool, great area to walk, and more! Check it out! We will be back for sure!

My family and I just returned home from the Thanksgiving holidays which we spent in Williamsburg. VA. This has been on my mom's "bucket list" for years and we were excited to make it happen this year, making the trip out from southern California. We made a 4pm reservation for the Regency Room buffet at the Williamsburg Inn based on the amazing reviews and the wide variety of the menu which would appeal to our group of 5- 4 adults and 1 child. I was concerned that our 4pm reservation was too late for Thanksgiving Day but the lady on the phone assured me that while that was the last seating, the food was always being refreshed and it would be the same as eating earlier in the day- there would be no difference in the experience. We showed up for our reservation on Thanksgiving Day and were told our table was not quite ready- no problem! 5-10 minutes later our party of 5 is taken to a 72" round table that is set for 10 people. We weren't sure if they had our reservation wrong, if another party was joining us, etc. Seating a party of 5 at a table of 10 means we either sit in every other chair to be able to see each other and possibly talk (over an extremely oversized table) or we sit at one end which does not allow for great dinner conversation. When I inquired about getting another table I was told it is better to be at a table that is too big than one that is too small- easy to say when you're not paying $100 a head for dinner. We were surprised to learn we could not order alcoholic drinks through our server but instead had to go on a wild goose chase through the room. The fact that you are celebrating a formal holiday in this beautiful room and then you have to walk across the room to a woman sitting behind a table to buy a drink ticket to then walk across the way to actually place your drink order at a makeshift bar was definitely strange- not to mention a hassle for the senior citizens in our party. Our server clearly did not want to be working that day as he made little effort in interacting with us other than to tell us what was on the buffet. Tea and coffee requests were made a minimum of 3 three times- twice with our server and once with another server- and it still took nearly 30 minutes to get either. If the room had been packed and the staff were working their tails off, or if they had simply said, it will be a while- we get it. But the room was not even a 1/4 filled and there were plenty of staff just standing around, moving at a snails pace. As for the food, the salad, seafood and cheese station were delicious! But unfortunately, all of the food on the dinner buffet- from the soup, to the meats, to the sides were all cold- not even lukewarm. It was such a disappointment. I mentioned to the server ladling the soup (after I had tasted mine) that it was cold and she just looked at me with a blank stare. Not to mention that you were serving prime rib (albeit cold) with no horseradish. The dessert buffet was a mess- I wish I had taken a picture. The Ice cream was literally a puddle of milk which no one had cared to tidy or replace (for a good amount of time) and there were only 2 desserts left out of the 5 mentioned on the menu- so much for replenishing. . All the buffet tables were out of plates by 4:30pm with no server noticing and it took some time to get new plates out. Lastly, I guess the entertainment was only booked until 4pm because there was lovely live music being played as we took our seats at our oversized table but by the time we figured out that we were not going to be able to move the music had stopped and by 4:10pm he had packed up his instrument and left. The whole experience was not only disappointing, it was awful. Especially when you take into consideration how far we traveled, the money spent, and the fact, that this is now our holiday memory for 2024. The only person we could find to talk to after we left the room was the manager for another dining room- I believe it was the Terrace room but to be honest, I was so frustrated and disgusted with the whole thing that I didn't want to get into it there nor was it under his watch.Save yourself the disappointment and do not book a holiday meal here!

The room was amazing. Everything was spotless. The staff was welcoming and helped plan activities for our visit. The Inn now has a nice bar area. While we did not partake at the bar, it appeared well stocked. On your next special trip, visit the Williamsburg Inn.

We had a fabulous stay at the historic houses at Williamsburg Inn. The spa services were fantastic. We had an amazing NYE dinner in the Rockefeller Room. The meal was outstanding! The staff at the Inn are always helpful and attentive. My only disappointment was that the pool was out of service. We will be back again!

What a wonderful Mother's Day gift from our daughter to her mother, and I had the pleasure of enjoying the gift as well. My Grubbing Buddy received a weekend stay at the Williamsburg Inn. Not since our stay at the Graylyn Estates located in Winston-Salem, NC have we enjoyed such an upscale hotel stay. not only were the accommodations but the check-in staff and the Inn's concierges were both helpful and pleasant. Our room was both comfortable and relaxing. Because I am a heavy coffee drinker, the Nespresso coffee machine was a pleasant sight, and served along with the high-end water bottles, Saratoga Natural Spring Water made my morning coffee even nicer. a plush white cotton robe and slippers for us both made our stay even more pleasant. and I've had chocolates lifted on our pillows after turndown but how about chocolate and liqueur "Disaronno" with two beautiful tiny liqueur glasses, I would tell you how good the chocolate and liqueur were, but they were both gone when I came out the shower. My Grubbing Buddy had no idea where it all went. While everything about the Williamsburg Inn was extra ordinary and high-end I would definitely do it all again. Thanks to our daughter we were both introduced to this delightful Inn in Williamsburg.

I have stayed at many high end hotels all over the country and the Williamsburg Inn rates up there with the best. From the minute you walk in you are greeted with the warmest hospitality and assistance (shout out to Rupert). The property is old but flawlessly maintained. There is charm in every part of the building . We dined at the Terrace Room. It was an amazing experience and as delicious as any big city establishment I have ever visited. They were kid friendly and the service was impeccable. The turndown service was also a nice treat, priming us to enjoy our well appointed room for the remainder of the night. Even though we visited in the cold of winter, the two fireplaces were roaring in the main lobby. The grounds are perfect for an evening stroll and the proximity to everything Williamsburg is unmatched. We will definitely be back, can't be soon enough!

Check in was a little fumbled as we arranged an early check in but when we got there, no note was made of it. Rooms could be darker to help sleeping in. We stayed in a suite and everything else was wonderful. The service is outstanding

Um, very friendly service but VERY"meh" food. Quite expensive for mediocre food and there are very definitely much better restaurants in Williamsburg. Opus 9, definitely Fat Canary come to mind as being far superior. We enjoyed the lounge for pre dinner cocktails but dinner was disappointing. Sorry to write this but diners need to know.

High Tea on a Sunday afternoon was beyond a pleasure. Can't wait to do it again. Being in the dining room brings back childhood memories.

Sadly if I could give zero starts I would have. This week we waited for 45 minutes to buy a bottle of champagne and the bartenders were extremely rude and we ultimately weren't given the champagne. A loss for both parties -- a large tip for them considering the quality of the champagne and a loss for us that we were never served. Do not recommend coming here.
