1/16/25 5 PM MondayWe went to the American Civil War Museum -Yorktown a small ways down the road and decided to try WSG on Water Street.January is considered the off season so we walked in quite easily. Summer , according to the waiter is a different story. Adjacent to the beach, I can see how popular it would be.We ordered the crab dip, fish and chips, and Cobb salad. We ate it all!Extra brownie points for being next to a Love sign and offering a military discount!

Enjoyed a burger and a cider at the bar. Service was ok, but they were quite busy so I want to give them the benefit of doubt. The burger was juiced and the fries were perfectly crispy and salted well! Great selection of things on tap. We tried a seasonal cider and it was great - Carmel apple cider. Ambience is overall good, nothing crazy but some tables have a nice view of the water.

Kiddo didn't want lunch at farmers market at York Town beach, so WSG it is.Nice covered back patio with water views. Food was solid - fried dishes were light, not greasy- creative sauces. Huge portion of calamari - easily an app for a crowd.Good service & reasonably priced (esp for location).

Service was fantastic even though they were very busy with several large tables. There was a variety of foods available on the menu. I had a BBQ wrap and onion rings and they were good. Portions were big with more than enough for one. We sat outside on the patio. It was loud. We faced the riverwalk. It was a nice setting.

While on vacation we stopped by here around 4:00 on a Monday and it was quiet as expected. We sat on the patio with a nice view of the river. I started with the crab dip and chips. The crab dip was seasoned very well with great flavor, excellent dish. I then had a Margherita Pizza that was ok. The cocktails were excellent. It was a nice afternoon watching the river and the people. Service was very good.

4 adults and 2 children stopped in for a very late lunch on Sunday and were pleased to be immediately seated. 2 of us were visitors to the area and wanted seafood, but we all got some type of seafood. All of the offerings were well received, but I was not impressed with the flavor of the Mahi tacos. The mahi was very bland. The two children split the kids chicken tenders and fries and said it was delicious! They ate most of it which is significant! The price point was fairly reasonable for the location and our selections. The environment is pleasant but unremarkable, and situated on the York River there are nice views to be had. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive. The food came out quickly and the children were served in advance, having time to top off their meal with ice cream. This is a good choice if you are looking to support a local business, enjoy local fare and have a casual but slightly upscale environment.

Second time visiting in less than a week and must say that on this occasion wasn't impressed. The Ahi Tuna Nachos were terrible, the fish wasn't fresh. The cocktail on the other was good. Service felt kind of rushed with the waitress we had on this occasion. Seems like this restaurant will be a spot for cocktails and drinks but probably wouldn't be ordering food in the future.

We had a very nice meal including fried Shrimp buffalo wrap a Smokehouse burger Seaford Pasta and a Seafood platter. Everything tasted good. Not very busy so atmosphere was nice.

Stopped here on Black Friday for lunch without reservations the place was on a wait. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. I'm glad we stayed because our meals were delicious. The calamari was cooked perfectly was not dry nor overcooked. My Cobb salad was delicious and so big I was able to take half of it home to eat later for dinner I also had a pretty delicious spicy margarita. Our waitress was very attentive and while it was very busy still had time to talk to my son who just loves to talk to anybody... all in all great experience we will return!
