Wanchese Marina & Landing Grill

We were camping nearby and came here for dinner in October. There was us and a few more people there that late night. We got the fried fish basket with tartar sauce and they didn't have fries so they gave us sweet potato tater tots. Food took a little bit to arrive and I was so hungry that I forgot to take a photo but it was pretty good. Service was good too. I would be back

BLUF: Fresh seafood and other fare served in a super casual atmosphere overlooking the Wanchese Harbor. As someone with deep admiration for commercial waterman I love spending time in Wanchese. Chowing down on fresh seafood in a super casual environment while overlooking the Wanchese Harbor is absolutely my idea of fun so yes, I am a fan of Wanchese Marina & Landing Grill. At lunch the grill serves seafood baskets, shrimp salad, tuna salad, burgers and even quesadillas so there is a decent variety. My husband enjoyed the catch of the day which was flounder and I delightfully dove into my fried shrimp basket. As a bonus, the baskets are served with hush puppies. We were fortunate to get to sit in the back dining room that overlooks the Wanchese Harbor. Wanchese Marina & Landing Grill is very casual. You order at the counter and then they either call your name or perhaps on slower days will bring your food out to you. There is seating in the dining room as well as outside. There is also a small gift shop with t-shirts and such. The employees are friendly and we were glad to support this local business in the quaint fishing village of Wanchese.

Perfectly fried shrimp some really good fries and two great hush puppies. Plus a cup of cole slaw. They keep the oil used for their fish fresh. Change it every day. That's the secret to great tasting crispy fish and shrimp. Not a super fancy place but it's on the water and has super good prices for fresh never frozen fish.

We ordered a shrimp basket to go. Service was great! Shrimp were hot, tasty and fresh. Hush puppies were really good. Cocktail sauce was fresh and delicious.

Got the special which was flounder and shrimp basket. It was delicious, made fresh and hot. Nice harbor view to boot.

We were driving around Wanchese with visitors and noticed the Marina, so returned a few days later for lunch. We have eaten good seafood at O'Neal's Sea Harvest in the past and decided we should try the other place.We were surprised by the offerings on the menu. They have great seafood, but if you have someone in your group who prefers something else, there are very good-looking burgers and other sandwiches and even pizza. Ms T had her usual fried shrimp basket, and I had flounder which was fish-of-the-day. Both were fresh and excellent. This was a nice outing for lunch. We like the food and the atmosphere is a little better than O'Neal's. Although it is a little drive from KDH, I can see us coming back, especially with visitors.

We found this little gem while doing some day driving. Looking at other reviews, we knew we had to try it out! We were warmly greeted at arrival, and walked through all of the menu items. We settled on some fresh fried flounder and some crab legs. Both items were cooked perfectly and melted in our mouths. The fries were also very good. There were several locals having lunch as well- everyone was just friendly and we felt like we belonged. Thank you so much to the entire team for making us feel so welcomed and for the great meal!

This place was amazing. We had our shrimp, cheese fries and grilled cheese with in about 5 mins of ordering. Sit in the back for a beautiful view. Loved the selection of shirts.

Only been here once, but the flounder and shrimp basket was tasty. Look forward to a return visit.

We came here to have fresh seafood on our Anniversary. It was off season. However it did not disappoint. Our fresh fish&shimp baskets were excellent. Great & quick service , very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back !! Very enjoying looking out at the marina at the sunset
