I love this place!We just moved to Chesapeake and needed a couple of things for our new place. This is a family run business and you can tell. They were friendly and professional and knowledgeable of their products. The sales person was great. She was patient and also gave me a run down of the business. The owner and his brother were professional and friendly. Then we got he products delivered. The two gentlemen that showed up were quick professional and friendly. I've had people set up furniture before and these guys were the best I've ever seen. Thanks for everything. As I was writing my review I received a phone call from one of the owners just checking to see how the furniture was and if met our liking. Couldn't be happier to shop with these guys.

It's a vision of beauty!! I looked EVERYWHERE, for this dining room table/experience. I call it an experience because so many experiences take place at the dining room table. I went to some pretty interesting stores, because I was on a budget and my housewarming party was less than 23 hours away. (Yes, people STILL have those).I went to Ashley's, Hane's, and a few really cheap places, IKEA,when suddenly I remembered I bought most of my favorite pieces at Virginia Furniture in Norfolk (directly across the street from BOB'S GUN SHOP). I saw this beautiful table and imagined Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas, Easter, and I don't even have a family. The manager tells me it's from ASHLEY's. ASHLEY 's? If he likes the cut of your gib (as he did mine) he'll do a private credit situation. Trust. I'm so impressed by the way these people do business. The next day it was at my door and they deliver for FREE!! Set it up, all shiny and new. I think it was more of a hit than my house. Every month I truck on down to Granby, as promised. Write them a check, as promised. And look how fabulous it is!!

The BEST furniture store in Hampton Roads AND Tidewater! I've been looking for solid furniture that's available now...not three months from now. This family business specializes in terrific, sincere service, which is difficult to find anywhere these days. Free delivery, free haul away. Personal interest in their customers' needs. I called them up to find the price of a couch I wanted to buy and within minutes they got me the price and put the order in for me. The next afternoon it got delivered with the upmost customer service I've ever received. 11/10 highly recommend their service.

We just moved here from NC and looked all over for a good quality TV console at a fair price. We finally found one here. $345 and free delivery, real wood not cardboard. The store is a big family business. The father who is now 90 started it, now his sons run it. They're incredibly nice and love to help you with anything. Though we bought furniture from them they also gave us maps, tips about navigating through the town, best restaurant advice, and just in general were really great. Go here for your furniture to support local but also to get wonderful quality furniture and customer service

I've pretty much furnished my entire apartment from this place. They've been around for over 75years. The salespeople are more than friendly and straight forward. The delivery team is quick and friendly. I didn't like they didn't clean up after themselves but the second time they came it was raining and they took some precautions to not make a huge mess. Plus it's my place I can clean the little styrofoam myself. Very good place.

Walked in looking for affordable furniture for my sons off-campus apartment. David Laibstain showed us something we liked within our budget but I told him this was our first stop, he handed me his business card then gave me directions to a competitive furniture store and walked away no pressure. After comparing prices at 3 other furniture stores I returned to David and purchased the furniture he showed us. The furniture was delivered for free and assembled within an hour and a half after purchase!!! That's unheard of!The customer service and efficiency shown by David Laibstain and the Virginia Furniture Company was unparalleled. When you know the value of your product there's no reason to worry about competitors. For anyone in the area who is looking for good furniture and EXCELLENT customer service run don't walk to Virginia Furniture Company. Free delivery and setup within an hour of purchase is pretty incredible.

After researching and visiting several furniture stores, I finally found Virginia Furniture Company in Norfolk, VA. I was intrigued by its perfect ratings (5 stars) from its previous customers, and discovered that this business truly deserves this rating. I like that it is a family business still run by its family members (third generation) and sales staff who adhere to the true and tried business principles of providing excellent customer service and treating their customers well. Sadly, it seems to be a novel concept at other furniture stores like Rooms to Go, Haynes Furniture, Value City Furniture, Haverty's Furniture, and Ashley Furniture. What a waste of time it was going to these stores as I saw a lot of sales people just standing around either filing their nails, staring at their computer screens, or texting friends/family on their phones. Most sales representatives at these other stores ignored customers standing around who were obviously waiting for service. Do yourself a favor and go to the Virginia Furniture Company if you want to be treated as if your time is valuable and your business is worthwhile. They have a wide selection of furniture, both in the showroom as well as various catalogs, to fit most tastes and budgets. The staff will work with you to make sure you find exactly what you want, and for a price that you can afford. Virginia Furniture Company also provides free delivery and free haul away for most locations (I was out of area in Williamsburg, but the delivery fee was very reasonable). Their experienced delivery staff will even contact you on the date of delivery and keep you fully informed as to their progress to your location. The staff at Virginia Furniture Company will also follow-up after delivery to make sure you are happy with your purchase. What more can you ask for or expect from any business? Although it may be anachronistic for a business to actually care about its customers and treat them well, it is obviously why their customers rated them so highly and return for repeat business. We bought a higher end mattress last year, and looking to replace it. Highly disappointed as it sinks as our previous 10 year old one. $1000. For just the mattress - junk!Inferior products has been our experiences.
