Beautiful day spending time outside with the family!

On this particular day, I was celebrating my 3rd month post-op from a lumbar fusion that shut down my golf play for over a year. I wanted to sit outside on their patio to reflect, watching the players coming in, and enjoying a cold IPA. This day was a bit chilly and couldn't stay out there long however, the time I did have was lovely reminding me of how cool of a club house it is on top of a wonderful golf course I really enjoyed playing. Pound for Pound (without being able to play on private courses), this one is probably my favorite to play in the area. I do feel the clubhouse is a bit outdated but it does capture the essence of a true "golfclub" vibe you would expect from a traditional club. You clearly see the local members enjoying their time for lunch or turning the nine. I have tried a few items as far as food and wouldn't say it's amazing. it does the trick for fuel but nothing over the top. Haven't tried dinner so I can't speak on that but they do have a full bar. Of course it is on the pricy side as usual for clubhouses but it wasn't terrible. The pro shop did have a goof feel to it and layout with lots of items you could purchase. Overall, I love the golf course and facility that is kept in good shape however I do feel the clubhouse and vibe, although traditional in nature, could use a little "sprucing up" as it does feel dated but... a lot of times, that is what traditional golfers want to remember and not change up. If you like that vibe with the wood lockers, dark green, traditional vibe, this place is perfect. As far as the golf course, condition, and layout, this is a must try course if you haven't. Prices are much more reasonable after a certain time but witih all courses and prices, you are going to pay no matter where you go unfortunatley. Very enjoyable place you would probably keep on your radar for play if you can afford it.

For the price (especially off season), this course is the best around here in terms of upkeep, course amenities, and pro shop. The course is challenging enough to keep you on your toes but not too intimidating for a new golfer. The pro shop is awesome, better than any I've been to around here, the staff is super helpful, and you can also do pretty much everything online (which is standard). The grill is great too. Plenty of food and drink options and extremely reasonably priced.Definitely recommend playing at least once!

I have attended events at Virginia Beach National Golf Club over the years, but never played the course. I have also eaten at their restaurant the Signature Grille and can weigh in. The public course is a premier Pete Dye design w/ assistance from Tour Pro Curtis Strange. Opened in 1999 it has hosted a PGA Nationwide VB Open. It's a challenging par 72 w/ over 7200 yards from the championship markers w/ tour quality greens. The exterior of the main building is looking aged and I have seen some areas that are in need of power wash, paint and even wood replacement. The Signature Grille has been just ok on my few breakfast visits. Service a bit above average, food average. It typically is dead in the dining room. The business they receive in the morning is from gofers grab and go window. I personally would not go out of my way for a breakfast visit alone. They also offer dinner specials which I would like to give a try. The club house and adjoining outside patio tent can be used for special events such as birthdays, anniversaries and weddings, receptions. Although I cannot weigh in on the course itself I can attest to the upkeep of the grounds which seems very good. Give them a try for a round of golf, special event, or grabbing a bite to eat. It's a beautiful area.

Beautiful course but the absolute slowest pace of play ever. It's excruciating. They have back to back doubles, instead of grouping into foursomes ... and on a Saturday.

I wrote a pretty decent review of this golf course a few years ago. Practice facility, course conditions, clubhouse... yep, these continue to shine. As a matter of fact, this golf course is in amazing shape and it's been a treat to play.To be perfectly honest, I never really played well at this golf course. As a golfer, despite how good the golf course is, if you can't score to your liking, you just don't like the course. For years, I've despised the idea of playing VBN. Again, nothing on the great facility, I just couldn't get my head right to play a decent round and enjoy the golf course. Well, I still can't shoot for sh*t on this course but I've gotten over despising playing the course. It's a great place to go. The people are friendly (with the exception of one employee last year who was a total a-hole to a big group of ours). You're playing a golf course in tip top shape.I don't get out and golf that often but when I'm invited to play a round at VBN, I know it will be an enjoyable experience.

I was very disappointed in the conditions at VBN. Greens were fare but fairways were poorly drained and grass was sparse in many places. Two holes had fairways recently aerated. For $49 I expected more

This course is in good shape with minimal patches that are thin. There are challenging dog legs and water hazards with a Pleasant and stately club house. Water coolers for cold water refills available throughout the course and real bathrooms. Lost a star as I am not a fan of frequent fly overs causing jet noise interruptions. Also landscaping is sparse and could improve the lure and appeal. Overall a positive experience with a great pace for Friday 1030 start. I would return and those of you with local golf memberships inquire about associate discounts.

The Commonwealth of Virginia charges residents a shit metric to of money every year for simply owning a vehicle. Doesn't matter if it's paid off or not. You own a car, you pay....every year.I'm single and have two vehicles, not extravagant and just paid over $800.00 this year and have been paying additional money on my car(s) for the past 26 years.Yet, the cities within the Commonwealth drag their feet in upgrading/fixing issues. They always have a surplus of money (of course...they steal from everyone that lives here). These bastards need to start stepping up to the plate and use the money they steal or stop taking our hard earned money for absolutely no reason whatsoever....

The male attendant in the pro shop seemed friendly checking in the two men ahead of us and then even though we were in line next took care of his buddy checking in at the side who just showed up. Seemed annoyed to have to check us in and we certainly were not welcomed in any shape or form. No direction to first tee or pin position for the day, no smile, no have a nice round or thank you when we paid. Curt and gruff no attempt at being friendly. No starter or Marshall on the course and terrible pace of play. A five-some (yes you heard me a five-some first time I have ever seen that allowed) played ahead of us and it was well over 3 hours to do the first 9. The club house is beautiful however the food choices are sub-par, no pun intended. It was 33 degrees and we saw a drink cart once although the cart operator was lovely and friendly. Will not play again or recommend especially to women.
