Nice people, good horses, right on the water. Exactly as expected good time! We enjoyed our ride with the company and would love to do it again!

The experience of riding on the beach at a walk was fun and scenic. However, we were not allowed to canter on the beach as the website claimed. My daughter is an experienced rider and was looking forward to being able to canter. The description on the website should really be changed if this is not actually part of the experience.

First time horseback riding on the beach and it was so much fun! We stayed the weekend at the beach for a bachelorette party (group of 8 ladies). The typical party size for horseback riding is 8 if you need 1 more I would advise reaching out to the owner Chase to see if he can accommodate you. Chase and his team were awesome and friendly! I corresponded with Chase a few times before our actual day and he always got back to me in a timely manner. The costs is $60 per for a 30 minute tour and $80 per person for a 60 minute tour. The ride starts on 26th street where they are located and you head to the pier. Each of the horses have names, my horse was Redbull. Redbull was a very good horse. Chase and his team advise you how to guide your horse (pulling left, right, or up) and tell you about their personalities. Some of the other horses I remember are Ginger and Roscoe. Cheyenne was our guide on the tour. Overall it was a great experience! The youngest age to ride is 6 so if you are looking for something fun to do be sure to check out VIrginia Beach Horseback riding! I will definitely return with my family.Funny story To add my horse had an itch at the end of the ride I have never seen a horse roll around to scratch it was too cute and funny to see the bourse rolling in the sand.

Barn-sour horses and burnt out guides who have no interest in a ride down the beach. Gave no instructions on what to do next or where to go once the group arrived at the corral. They assigned horses that were not very nice. Our family of three were given horses who would not stay together. My horse wanted to get back to the corral so bad, and the guides couldn't give a damn; I didn't get to enjoy the ride, never mind enjoying seeing our young son's first experience riding a horse. I emailed the company, after the ride, when they inquired about our experience. They either missed the email or just didn't give one horse manure. I waited for a reply before writing this review. They lost a rating star for that. Will not be back.

Horseback riding has been on my mood board for some time and I finally decided to try it. I've been on a cloud ever since... this was such a great experience! The host was amazing - as a first time rider he made learning easy and comfortable. His nature is peaceful and relaxed, and he is a complete professional with every aspect of the activity. I can't wait to go back!

This was the worst time I have ever had riding horses. The instructors gave little to no instruction and did a terrible job. The instructor went in front with two other people (myself and one other) and didn't notice that he left everybody. Someone in the back of the group FELL OFF his horse. Once the instructor realized this, he turned around and started running without telling me anything. After he left my horse started trying to run but I was trying to stop him. Eventually the horse started running even though I was doing what they told me to do to get him to stop. After a while the horse stopped abruptly and ducked his head down THROWING ME OFF and left. The instructorEventually came back and tried to tell me it was my fault even though I did what he told me to do. In conclusion the instructor was incompetent and the horses had very little training.

This was definitely an experience that left us with a story to tell, but not in a good way. There were 8 riders in the group and only 4 made it back on their horses. There was only 1 guide for 8 riders. He and two other riders were so far ahead of the group that he didn't realize when the first rider fell and her horse turned around and took off heading back to home base. This caused other horses to also turn around and hurry back. Many of the riders were not experienced enough to handle the situation. My 10 year old son did an emergency dismount because he felt out of control. Soon after, the guide came cantering towards us and then my 14 year old's horse came galloping by WITHOUT my son. Even as an experienced rider, I was struggling with my horse to keep him from taking off and when I tried to turn him around so that I could check on my son he became very distressed and I didn't feel comfortable getting into a power struggle with a horse that I don't know. Thankfully the guide agreed to go back and check on my son who had been thrown off his horse and landed on his back. Turns out when the guide, in his words, did "a john Wayne maneuver" and took off without giving my son any kind of instruction, my son's horse also took off. My son tried to slow the horse down and the horse threw him over his head. Soon after, another rider came off and injured her wrist. It was total chaos. Fishermen were frantically trying to get their lines out of the way of galloping riderless horses and riders were struggling to stay on while their agitated horses tried to keep up with the riderless horses heading back to base. There was another employee in an atv who was collecting poop and she ended up having to make trips collecting the injured fallen riders. Overall I think the two employees did their best to manage a dangerous situation, but there needs to be more guides; one in front, one in back and one in the middle. Maybe they also need walkie-talkies for better communication. Also, there needs to be far more instruction given to the riders. They were late coming back from their previous ride and so maybe they were rushed, but the only instructions we were given were; right, left, brakes and go. No one ever talked about sitting up or weight in your heals or what to do in an emergency. After the horses had this experience of overpowering their riders they immediately took another group of riders out which makes me question their training methods. The horses would have benefited from some kind of tune up after that experience. I spoke to a third employee who arrived as we were leaving and was stunned when he told me that he "smacks them across their ears" if they don't listen to him and that it's very difficult to teach new riders how to stay in control. The employees blamed the riders for the catastrophe and were not accountable for any of the problems. I tried to say that the riders needed more instruction and they disagreed. Our last trail ride was in Iceland and in addition to far more trail guides, they had a 20 minute thorough instructional video that all riders had to watch before mounting and also more instructions were reviewed once everyone was astride their horse. I hope that this business takes action to better instruct their future riders. Otherwise, someone is going to get very hurt.

The horses are extremely barn sour, very agitated, and aggressive. They do not listen to commands. One horse (Redbull) bit me (unsure if she was trying to bite my horse, Cheyenne, or not, as the guide advised, but she bit me. By the end of our ride, there were 4 unoccupied horses. 1 lady got off of her horse because the guide was extremely rude to her because her horse wasn't listening and kept trying to go back to the corral despite her pulling back and her attempts to redirect the horse. Two horses started fighting, causing one horse and its rider to fall; one horse fell on top of the rider, and the other rider was knocked off. The fourth person was too uncomfortable to continue the ride that turned extremely dangerous. I attended with my child. Her horse out of nowhere went on a canter (run) down shore. Turned itself around, cantered more, started cantering more towards the corral, and then finally returned to the herd. My child is 8 years old and a first-time rider. Her horse was totally unpredictable, and I was frantically nervous. The guides were no help as the horses weren't listening to them either. At one point, many of the horses broke away from the herd and began cantering down shore. The guide attempted to run after the horses, but it was a lost cause, and that's when the horses began fighting. The horses don't seem to be treated well, are ill-mannered, and ungroomed. The guides provided no pre-ride instructions or directions. They were disrespectful, showed no understanding, and were rude. The website stated there would be a photographer, but there was no photographer, so I asked the guide to take a picture of me and my child. He let out a reluctant sigh, rudely grabbed my phone, took a blurry picture, and refused to take another for us.When the horses were going crazy on the beach, bystanders began recording. The guide began yelling at the bystanders and telling them to stop recording because it was none of their business. My child and I got separated during the ride as our horses started going separate ways, so I was concerned about her safety and well-being. My child ended up 3 miles from me. There was a guide holding my horse saying she couldn't let it go because it has a tendency to take off, so I couldn't get to my child. My child ended up being safe, but cried hysterically as her "kid horse" went on its own excursion away from the herd. The guide was too occupied with the fighting horses that he was unable to rescue my child.Although this was my first ride with this company in Virginia Beach. I am not a first-time rider. This experience made me rethink Horseback Riding ever again, but I just won't ride with this company as they've shown me how dangerous Horseback Riding really is.
