Virginia ABC

I've only visited this store once. The locations proximity from where I reside is not convenient. It's a newer store in past several years with a shift in the same center. The best way to access is from a West entrance (not closest to PA) which takes you in their lot. Signage is good from road and building. There is plenty of parking and I found the area debris free. I specifically went to this store for a particular allocated bourbon which they did not have. The staff was helpful and friendly. Probably not a store I would return to based off location, but if they had the product I needed I'm not opposed. 3.5 rounding up.

Has all kind of liquors you want great fast service and provided bags for those who spend a certain amount.

Soooo...I stopped by here in an attempt to snag some liquor holiday sets. You know the ones. The awesome bundles that arrive around Christmas time. Unfortunately, I regret this visit.I stopped in around 11:30am on a Monday, so it was REALLY slow. But there were at least 3 seen workers: 2 in the front, 1 in the back. I was greeted by one, who I'll dub Worker 1, and inquired about holiday sets. She responded that they don't really get them at this location (funny enough, I do recall purchases I made last year at this spot. But whatever.) and pointed to one aisle and said that's what they have. She told me the location at Landstown Commons has more holiday selection. I said "oh, cause it's a larger store." She snapped back "no, we are actually bigger." Ummm...didn't you just point me to the lack-luster selection of holiday sets?!?I decided maybe I'll just get the travel sizes for adult stocking stuffers. After a while, Worker 1 asks me if I need help. I told her what I decided to shop for and asked about a particular liquor brand. She snaps back "I don't drink", walks away and proceeds to talk to Worker 2 and another lady who seems like she works there, but just stopped in. I overhear them complaining about who I assume is the manager and how said person thinks they are worthless. Hmmm...After making my travel size liquor selection, I decide I'll buy some Baileys liquor for myself. At this point, I'm trying to make this a more positive experience. I was about to check out when Worker 2 suggests I try the Baileys holiday flavor, which was stocked in that disappointment of a holiday section. I asked her if she's tried it; and she said if you like cordial cherries, you'd enjoy it. Sold. I opted to give it a shot and put back the Original Baileys.I pay for my purchase; and as I open the door to exit, Worker 1 states to the others "we need to get rid of all that stuff", referring to that lack-luster aisle.Needless to say, upon arriving home, I made myself some coffee to try this recommended cordial-cherry-esque Baileys. It tastes like cough syrup. Gross.Never again. The only worthwhile words from this trip: go to the Landstown Commons ABC store.

Just a quick pick up for a little spirits. The selection was wide. There were some pretty neat drinks in there. Customer service was awesome. This store is located in the same shopping center as the market. Get it all done in one morning. LOL

So we put in a pickup order at this abc store time was 5:15. During the covid quarantine it's just a good idea. We've not used it here. So you have to list all the car info and plate. We get there and there's a car ahead of us. I call. They finally answer. They gave our big order to the other person! They call the person and tell them to bring it back. So now we have possibly contaminated boxes. We sprayed down the bottles with Lysol. But I can't believe that they can do that! It's a state regulated store, if it was a private business heads would roll!

Walking in, they have different COVID-19 rules than every other store we have been to. I asked if she could tell me what they have for selections of tequila, or take a photo for me, or if they had a website I could shop at. The answers were all no. Standing there flabbergasted at her response and lack of customer service, I asked her to help the next person in line. He got help. Not even knowing exactly what he wanted, she told him the type, held op the bottle, and shouted the size and price across the store. Sorry lady, I'm not a man. Get over your issues with women and treat people the same

Well, it's the store in Virginia for the public to buy liquor. I just moved from California so when I set out to get liquor one day, I first went to Harris Teeter, then Kroger's, then Total Wine & More, then finally to ABC liquor. I wasted a lot of time/gas just to find out that you can only buy liquor at an ABC Liquor store (or at the military base). I find it interesting that you can only buy liquor here, it can't be a Sunday, and it's a state-run shop. I wonder how much more crime/accidents would occur if liquor could be sold anywhere. Is there even a correlation? Could it be a budget stimulus? Does Virginia even need a budget stimulus? I don't know.I like how there were a lot of bottles on the shelves that I've never seen before--particularly the bourbons and moonshines. I couldn't not pick a bottle of higher end moonshine to try.I got what I needed and went about my business. I guess now I know.

I am only giving this three stars as all ABC's tend to be the same. The customer service was average and the selection was about the same as any other ABC. They did have Bacon Vodka which I will admit, I am terribly curious to try. They are also carrying the original recipe Absinthe now with worm wood so I found that a little odd but I did get a bottle. I would love to say more but it's a liquor store, they have liquor.

Worst store in the area. I was followed around the store by the cashier as if I were a criminal looking to steal alcohol. I have never felt so unwelcome in a store like I was at this one. When I asked why I was being followed the cashier said that two teenagers stole alcohol the previous day and was caught. I am a 36 year old Navy Chief who looks nothing like a wild teenager. I will not be supporting this store again.

Cost is higher than on base if you are eligible. But if it is liqour you seek and you can't access a class nine store, the state controlled ABC stores are your only option. This branch is typically well stocked with little bare shelf space. They stock a few varieties and sizes I can't get at my alternate shopping sites which does lead me to repeat patronage.The service at this branch has always been friendly with staff willing to help you find things you're searching for.The drawback is cost. Be prepared to pay more than you would at the alternate locations or in states with less tight fisted regulation on the sales.
