Virginia ABC Store

I love a liquor store that offers strong customer service and this store deliveries. I've only visited a handful of times, however both times friendly and helpful staff at the Virginia ABC off the boulevard. Parking is directly in front of the store with a curbside offering. The lot and walk up clear of debris. Signage is fine on the building but the road is a good distance. Find them in between Sam's Warehouse and Harris Teeter. The store is about average size for a state run liquor store in Virginia. Two checkout counters are on both sides as you enter and they were staffed. Bourbon is on the left side and I was looking for anything new in inventory. The store needs an update, however it was clean and well organized. The selection was very good, not great as I saw missing items. The manager pointed out a few bourbons delivered three days prior on a specialty shelf. Nothing looked appealing, however it was a nice opportunity to talk about what they may get in. I left empty handed, but that's ok. I will probably come back since this is in an area I frequent. 3.5 rounding up with strong service. NOTE: My large scale update of the entire Virginina ABC Store system has pretty much concluded. What's left is adding stores Yelp does not have listed on their site which is still approximately 100.

So, I'm posting this review at the risk of being judged for being some kind of hardcore alcoholic but I'm not. It's just that I had planned my other errands & the route/order of stops for the day based in the fact that this ABC store opened at 12. Well, here I sit at 12:20 & the store is still not open. I have seen at least 10 people come & then leave in the past 15 mins while waiting in my car. This is terrible business practice, but I guess I shouldn't be shocked since the state runs it...our tax dollars at work!!!Update: store did not open until 12:45

Always friendly with me... fast and knowledgeable. The people in the back in warehouse are especially on par!

I don't frequent the ABC store as I'm not a drinker, but I went in to grab some gifts for some friends. They were courteous and friendly and helped me find something not in the shelf. It all went well until I got to the register and they overcharged me. I had to bring it to their attention and then it took nearly 10 minutes to get it corrected.

Who isn't a fan of the ABC store? If I'm not mistaken these are the only stores where you can get liquor in Virginia. Like it or not... Well, you better like it!There's one thing you need to know about the ABC stores. Is it in a sketch part of town? That's really it. If you're away from anything sketch, then you can shop without the risk of crazy asses walking around starting a ruckus.While I was checking out the clerk said, "Be easy." What a way to end a transaction.I was picking up a gift today for a client. Of course, I'll be back....

Horrible place to buy liquor. I went there to purchase some conjour and they didnt have any on the shelves. However there was 2 bottles behind the counter reserved for a couple. The problem is that they didn't know the names of the people who reserved it nor did they put money down prior to reserving. Okay ABC, I am calling tomorrow to place a special order in for 500 bottles. Selling dreams..

Walk in at 2:12 after receiving a random "allocated" bourbon drop email and text at 2. Nobody in the store or parking lot but all the good bourbon is gone. Makes no sense. Somebody is on the take.

RUDE! Staff is unhelpful and completely rude. Dont waste your time and go to another store. What a joke

The prices aren't the worst, but the people who work there are. As soon as I walked in one of the cashiers asked "are you even old enough to be in here?" Absolutely tactless.
