Virginia ABC Store - Chesapeake

Closed on a Saturday. Sign in the window said they were closing early because they were short staffed. This was at 10AM!

I'm going to give it up for this Chesapeake ABC and go all the way with a full 5 stars. From answering the phone to customer service in the store this ABC site has it together. My visit was scheduled around a phone call around 10 AM to locate a gift for a friend. A nice staff person named Stacey picked up when the store was closed. I told her I what I was looking for and she said they had a truck with a few rare brands. However, she did not want to get my hopes up on an extremely rare delivery of Old Fitzgerald. I arrived at the store off Cedar Rd. thats in a strip off the beaten path. Signage is not good unless your directly in front. Parking was excellent and the lot clear of debris. Upon arrival I was concerned with the small line that had formed at 11 30 AM. I waited and found out I was number four for three bottles of Old Fitzgerald bourbon. I decided to hang in there for other rare bourbon possibilities on the truck. When the store opened Rose held the door open for around 6 customers. I looked over their stock which was very good. The staff was very helpful and I explained that I was looking for a rare bourbon for a birthday present. I waited for anything to be put on the shelf from the truck. After around 30 minutes one of the staff told me the Old Fitzgerald was available as the third person did not want to purchase at the price point. Talk about lucky! The checkout was very smooth using a credit card. The staff was friendly and excited for my big score. I would recommend store 069. This is my first 5 star review of a Virginia ABC Store. I cannot be a regular with its distance but Chesapeake friends please visit them.
