Virginia ABC Store

First time at this Virginia ABC located in a seedy/industrial area of Norfolk. It's an old building, most likely was something else prior to a liquor store. Parking is on both sides of the tiny building. The area was debris free. There is no awning for weather if your waiting for a special release. I was lucky enough to purchase a highly sought after allocated bourbon named Elmer T. Lee. It runs $40, but trades up to $300. Checkout was neutral, no friendly interaction with a line. I opened it later in the day and it's smooth and delicious. This is not a store I would return to unless they have a specific product I desired. It's not close to where I live and the area may be unsafe at night.

This freestanding ABC location is on the small side yet still has spacious aisles making navigation throughout the store easy. The store is neat, clean and organized. Shopping baskets and hand sanitizer are available for your convenience. Shelves are well stocked and service is efficient and friendly. Staff is knowledgeable of their products and able to answer questions you may have. There is plenty of parking in their private lot surrounding three sides of the building. Ingress and egress are easily accomplished in either direction of Liberty Street. I like shopping at this location because it is very conveniently located for me. It's near my home and I can get in and out quickly. The only real negative is the infamous SoNo railroad crossings are sometimes blocked with rail traffic which can mean lengthy delays unless you are familiar with alternate routes.
