I attended my first concert here at the amphitheater and was pleasantly surprised at how organized and clean, they have plenty of bathrooms. The food and alcohol vendors were very pleasant and the lines were quick so service is great. We didn't order any food but we did get some drinks and you get a souvenir cup. Always fun. Will definitely come back

This venue is among my favorite in Virginia. The sound quality is excellent everywhere in the house - from the front row to the back lawn. Seats are comfy and there's not a bad seat in the house - unobstructed views. If you're looking to enhance the experience; boxes on the mezzanine include wait-service - bar and food - for guests in the boxes. Restrooms and vendors are conveniently placed and clean. One negative is the Lawn policy of no personal lawn chairs. If you want to be off the ground the venue now charges for in-house chairs - patrons cannot bring their own. One last thing - traffic moves pretty smoothly in and out of the amphitheater. I'd give 5-stars if we could still bring our own lawn chairs.

Awesome time once again. We went to Third Eye Blind as part of our Lawn Pass and it was on a night with a full moon. So fun and beautiful space. Crowd was respectful and staff helpful even when we had a short thunderstorm

This is the BEST PLACE EVER for concerts! Summer time?! You come and either sit on the lawn with your friends and dance on the grass and enjoy the music with the wide screens, or you can sit in reserved seating under a covered part of the amphitheater. The acoustics and light shows in this place are incredible, and every seat has a great view- there aren't any obstructed seats. Come and check it out! You'll want to come back! The food is insane, too! Virginia BBQ, Huge Pretzels, Nachos, Hotdogs, you name it?! They've got it!

5 star experience. We purchased lawn seats for the first time for the Hootie concert. We didn't know what to expect but the views on the lawn the unobstructed and better viewing then the actual seats. The sound quality was exceptional. Parking was easy and free. The walk from the parking lot to venue was not bad at all and the food stand bathrooms were surprisingly close. We had a pretzel from KOKO's stand and honestly tasted like it was imported from Austria and very well might have been. This is a new concept resturant based in Austin which expended to concert venues throughout the US. Chairs were $20 each to rent which was a bummer considering it stated on the website chairs were allowed but the website was never updated. For 15,000 attendees there, the parking flow was fast and we exited in 5 minutes. The service was very good as well.

I've only been to the Amphitheater twice and both times were memorable experiences. Since the Lawn tickets to see Janet Jackson were affordable, I figured why not grab them and enjoy a fun concert. Once my daughter and I arrived, we stood for about an hour in a long line before getting into the amphitheater. I read all of the guidelines ahead of time to ensure we had no issues getting in but unfortunately I must've missed the rules stating that we couldn't bring the lawn chair bags inside with the lawn chairs so the security confiscated our lawn chair bags. As we made our way up to the Lawn section, we arrived in good time to sit in a pretty decent area. The jumbo screens definitely helped us view the concert better and the concert was absolutely amazing. Of course once the concert was over, it was a beast getting back to our car with everyone trying to leave at the same time. To my surprise, as we were walking out, the security laid out all of the lawn chair bags that they confiscated for people to retrieve and low and behold, we were able to find both our lawn chair bags which made me very happy. Once we got to the car, it was a mess trying to leave. When you have an abundance of cars all trying to leave out at the same time, it's a recipe for disaster. People literally weren't allowing us out of our parking space and everyone was cutting everyone off. It took us close to an hour to fully depart from the parking lot. It would be very beneficial to have a better system in place when people are exiting after a concert. Overall, I always enjoy seeing concerts here and I plan to see a few more this Summer. *Friendly Reminders - Ensure you take a clear bag. Do not take your lawn chair bag with you. Always remember the area you parked in so you can quickly locate your vehicle when you leave. Be patient exiting the parking lot.

TL;DR: ProsVIP and Preferred Parking are real, the musicians are goodConsTerrible audio settings, VIP Club is a lie, Flight Deck is a joke, Staff is poorly organized, Staff argued with musical acts, No Pit access without Pit ticket, Insane pricesI went to the Freaks on Parade show: Filter, Ministry, Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper. All of these bands are very vocals heavy where you need to understand what is said. Of these four bands, only Ministry is bass heavy. That said, it's industrial grunge house bass. Think "thunder in the back" not "the bass is all there is". Well, the amphitheater had the bass up WAY TOO HIGH to the point you could not hear anything but bass any time a bass guitar or low keyboard note was played. This drowned out vocals on Filter and Ministry. Alice caught on fast and had the entire band play the songs one half step higher than normal. The bassists tried to avoid the lowest notes. Alice went off stage between set changes and tried to convince amphitheater staff to fix the bass. I was right up front and saw him arguing with staff! Alice cooper retaliated by having Lita play an instrumental version of Black Widow on bass. There were two bassists, one guitar, and a drum turned down LOW. Just the intro to Black Widow caused insane levels of feedback that I think actually blew out a couple of amps. By the end of the song, staff finally fixed the levels. Hats off to Alice Cooper for taking no crap, but he shouldn't have had to resort to that! Unfortunately Alice killing a few amps resulted in Rob's set having technical problems. Parts of songs would drop out at random. Staff kept trying to turn bass up again during songs instead of fixing midtones and rerouting amps. I'm pretty sure Rob kept telling them not to up the bass because the bass levels kept resetting between songs. Rob literally turned to the audience and apologized for "technical difficulties" TWICE during the set. When venue staff is so bad that the headliner apologizes twice, and it's Rob Freaking Zombie apologizing, you know they suck hard. I'm not alone in these observations. I ran into at least three Hollywood Vampires at this show. One of them was hanging out with me, actually. She started disappointed with the sound, but was disgusted and irate by the time Alice blew out the speakers. The others were equally upset. I walked all the way to the lawn and it was just as muddy as on the stage. Sound quality at this amphitheater was just bad! And it's not just the music that suffered. The meet and greets were messy. The time listed was the "start time" for check-ins. We waited over an hour with everyone already there. Rob Zombie's meet and greet started promptly after that. For Rob Zombie, the actual meet and greet lasted well over an hour and a half, which is fair considering there were about 50 people. Signatures, photos, and chatter were allowed. The one that was bad was Alice Cooper. Staff had no idea where Alice was or where the meet and greet would be! We waited so long that all of us missed the first act. Rob's meet and greet had been over for a long while by the time Alice's started. In the end there were a total of 20 people who made it through the wait, and each person was rushed through. No autographs, no chatter, and no carried items permitted. WTF. The "VIP Club Access" does not open until the show starts. It closes when the concerts end. So, if you bought this, you won't be able to use it except between shows unless you want to skip a band. By the way, the listing is a lie. There is no wait staff. The VIP area is a couple of outdoor bars under cabana tops with a popcorn and chips stand and merch booth. Drinks run $13-$22 each with water being $5. Bring and refill a water bottle or ask for a cup of water instead. Shirts are $50. Chips are $7 for a snack bag. Everything costs the same outside the VIP Club. The only thing that is nicer in the VIP Club is the bathrooms, which have AC and a small cart with free mints and such on it. "Preferred Parking" is right next to the entrance. You must circle the entire venue to be able to leave, because the exit is on the other side. "VIP parking" is in a small nook near the front, too. Yes, they checked tickets before letting me park. Regular parking is in a big field near the back and the lines out are very long. At least VIP and Preferred Parking actually get a faster exit as advertised.Unless you are on the lawn or in the pit, don't buy Fast Lane. You won't use it. Same for Flight Deck access. Flight Deck is literally one little standing bar on platform at the top of the hill, roped off unless you have an armband. They also won't let you in the pit without a wrist band. So if you get the urge to head bang or mosh and you didn't buy a "pit" seat, you are stuck in your chair. Not being allowed to head bang during Ministry should be a war crime. This venue needs better staff and honest site info. Loved the musicians, hated this place.

Yeah, I'm not old or young but went to ZZ-Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd 9-7-24 as the DD for a group of friends. Haven't been to the venue in a bit and was unaware YOU CANNOT, bring your own lawn chair. Strike one. Had lawn tickets and wanted a chair thanks for the over priced BS chair at $25.00 - strike two. Got 24oz beers for friends and the staff does not even say thank you or have a great time just shoves the TIP ME reader your face. IF YOU SAY YOU CAN TIP HERE with out a niceGreeting or thank you - you get no effing tip - strike three. Bands were great, fans were great. The venue and its staff and the financial bleeding is garbage. WILL not be going back ever. Live Nation can suck a high hard one.
