This is one of those places where you would go when you want comfort food, but better than diner quality. The portions are large and the food is good. It's not the best Italian food I've ever had, but it's better than most. The selection is large and the service is great. The French onion soup was cheesy and delicious. The feta burger was a good texture with lots of cheese! The pizza to me could have used more cheese, but it was still good heated up the next day. And the Italian combo platter is huge, enough to feed two. I can't speak too highly of the side salad. It was just okay and not as good as the soup for a side. But overall, it's a good comfort food type of restaurant that you will have good solid food at.

I never leave poor reviews but in this case I feel like it's important to be honest and to share with potential customers my experience. I have tried Vancosta's four times, I have a policy to not write off a place until three attempts. Each time was a profound disappointment. The lasagna might as well have been a casserole, the Greek food was clearly prepared in bulk at the beginning of the week and had no flavor, the side salads might as well just be taken off the menu and the spinach pizza I ordered used frozen spinach and was inedible. The staff were friendly but this restaurant has truly run its course and should be avoided. I can't even say it was a good value as I didn't finish any of my dishes they were so bad.

My mom mentioned eating at Vancosta's and loving their Country Fried Steak. We thought they closed but they're back. The service is great. So warm and friendly waitstaff. The inside is simple and homey. Classic American diner.

This restaurant is the local version of "Cheers". You know "where everyone knows your name."That's true at Van Costa's Waiters and Waitresses come and go but Leigh and Toni have a knack for hiring people who are great at what they do, but also have a welcoming personality!The food is great and you are offered daily specials as well. I am having shoulder surgery soon and I plan on ordering from Van Costa's every day. Like having my own personal chef. Thank you Leigh and Toni. It is clear that you care about your customers!

Food I had was very good, service was great. It's a cute old school diner spot. Ambiance is not bad considering they have been in business for many years.

On my last visit, I had a large group with me. The food was amazing and even though we had a large group everyone was eating at the same time. The service was excellent. Our waitress never complained, she was on top of all of our needs.

I popped inside with my wife for the First time ever. My wife has ordered take out prior when in town. We stood at the front door waiting for direction or to be acknowledged for at least 4 minutes. My wife decided to walk to the counter and ask if we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. Waitress behind counter told her we could seat ourselves. (There was no sign stating to seat yourself)We sat at a table near the counter. We sat for 7 minutes.At least 3-4 waitresses walked by greeting other customers. Not "a" worker greeted or acknowledged us from the time we walked in the door. So we left quietly without a fuss. Needless to say these people working here were rude. I will not imply race but we were the only non-Caucasian's in the building. I recommend eating at Anna's Italian Pizza where the environment was welcoming, waitress is friendly, fast, food was delicious and worth many more visits.
