Utopia Restaurant and Lounge

Found this spot on tiktok and the vibes looked great. I was visiting from out-of-town and wanted to grab brunch. I was shocked at how small it was inside, but it wasn't a "too tight" feeling you felt like it was no room to move around. The host couldn't give an exact time on a table wait because people stay around for the music, now I see restaurants have 90min rule for parties. So we sat at the bar. My friend and I both ordered my mimosa flight which we were told it would take 10min because they were cleaning the glasses; cool. Ten minutes turned into us asking how much longer because at this point it was a little over 30min and I am not lying. My friend's food came out before the drinks; my food comes, chicken and waffles and I specified turkey bacon. Food comes out with pork bacon, glad I know how to tell the difference by looks so I *send it back* because I do not eat pork. My food comes back, correct bacon, but the waffle was undercooked inside, you could see the waffle batter still. I honestly hate to be that patron but I sent it back AGAIN and asked for fish and grits, which was good. Oh, the mimosa flight was good as well. They had a DJ and for the amount of people in there, maybe 35, it was lit (that I'll say). The party siting next to us had the same issue with waiting and had frustration as well. Oh, they gave us plastic utensils to eat with as well, lol.

A fairly new, black-owned restaurant. It's a nice size inside, however, not very big. It's very cute and modern with various lights and grass walls. I sat at the bar and the seats are fairly comfortable. They play good music and it's not extremely loud. My waitress/bartender, Jamie, was very nice and helpful. I came during happy hour (on Thursday). While they had good drink specials, the only food on the happy hour menu was a taco that came with a drink. The calamari and salmon bites were 10/10. They both came with sauces and effort were put into the creation of them. The fries and Brussel sprouts, however, didn't really have much taste. They weren't seasoned like i expected them to be. Next time I come, i will get the Rasta pasta, as it seems like that's a pretty popular dish. It also seems like they have a lot of brunch options; versus their lunch and dinner menus.

Excellent service. Food was banging and Drinks were slamming. And Ms Tikia is an Awesome manager. Rasta Pasta and Strawberry Henny is a must!!

I went to Utopia for a business meeting and dinner. The restaurant is very nice and cozy. The staff was great and the service was quick! I had the bronze salmon, and it was SO good! My only complaint is their fried food is too salty. We had the fried wings and the salmon bites and both were way too salty for me!

After seeing all the IG posts, my friend and I decided to try them out. We went one Saturday evening around 6pm just for drinks. It wasn't packed but by the time we left, there was a wait. There was a sign outside that said you only can stay 90 min and a 20% gratuity is added to all orders. It is small but the ambience is a vibe. It's so nicely decorated. I ordered the Utopia drink and salmon bites and my friend got the shrimp and another drink. We didn't care for our drinks but the star was the salmon bites. They were delicious, so good I ended up going back the next week for lunch. Lunchtime: I arrived at 11:04am because their website said they opened at 11. The gentleman came to the door about to tell me that they opened at 11 then realized it was time. I don't think they were expecting guests so early. I ordered the salmon bites and the shrimp Rasta Pasta. It took about 30 minutes to get my food but it was worth it! The salmon bites were delicious and the Rasta pasta was a lunch size portion and really filling. It was a great experience and I will be back for other lunch items

Went for brunch on Saturday! Place was not too packed which made it more comfortable. Our server was very nice and the food was great! Well seasoned and nice portion. I had the fish and grits, was soooo good! We also had salmon bites, lamb chops, lemon pepper wings (BOMB). My friends had chicken and waffles, Etoufee, and shrimp and grits and everyone was pleased with their dish. Definitely a nice spot and bartender was great. The mimosa flight was a hit and lemon drop shots. Will definitely return.

A friend and myself dined here on a Tuesday. The only reason I am giving them two stars is because our waitress was amazing! Our drinks took over 40 minutes to come out. The food took almost an hr and the bartender was too busy dancing instead of making drinks. The bartender seemed to have an attitude with the employees that worked there. There was not a lot of people in there but our second out of drinks too and extremely long time as well. Our food did not come out at the same time! My tacos were supposed to have cabbage on it but they came out with a spring mix. The meat that was in my tacos were cold. This place had so much potential but the wait times are atrocious even though the place is beautiful.
