Who would have thought with a name like Uncle's Farm, that it would be disguised as a Korean grocery store or in Korean "hanguk shikpoom"? I was told by some trusted sources that there were two other mom-and-pop Korean grocery stores other than the Grand Mart and E-marts of the area! I happened to be in the Peninsula and decided to pop in for some goodies before my next appointment. When you walk in, to the left, they have the refrigerators with the produce and the wall in the back is lined with more fridges and freezers to store all the cold, perishable and frozen items. I saw things like fresh perilla leaves, kongnamul (Korean bean sprouts) and what I loved about this particular mart was that they had a good variety of ready, grab-n-go banchan in smaller sizes. I was told by the nice lady who worked there that they make kimbap on the daily (if you didn't know, the best and cheapest way to get kimbap is at almost all the Korean grocery stores). She also said that the owner makes all the banchan and usually makes them on fridays.I picked up things like purple potato starch noodles (say what?! The noodles used for japchae are purple...maybe the Koreans are getting on the ube train...), a box of Bacchus-D (Korean energy drink that was the inspo behind Red Bull), Banana milk, Coffee milk, and some Korean ssuk gae-tteok, which is a chrysanthemum leaf rice cake (or muwgwort), coated in a bean powder! It was SO GOOD and so fresh! It's a Korean version of mochi, if you're familiar with that. All in all, I can't wait to go back and stock up on banchan that I am too lazy to make and try their kimbap.Things to note:I was told that this is strictly a Korean grocery store and not an "International" one as most of the Asian grocery stores label themselves. There are no other products related to other Asian cuisines, just Korean.Enjoy, Friends!

Very tight space and a lot of stuff, but it is so organized! Plus they have certain foods I have been looking everywhere for! They also have a rewards program for you to sign up for. The person that was at the register was so friendly and helped me find everything I needed. :)

This was my first time here. It's clean and they are practicing covid safety practices (plexiglass at the counter and masks required to enter). It's organized and easy to navigate. You can find what you need and at a good price. I bought some side dishes (pickled daikon radish) however if it is someone's first time here and not knowing what certain items are, they would probably need to ask what an item is since it's not on the in-house price label. The cashier was friendly and overall though a short trip, it was successful. I will venture back.

It's a Korean mart that has a lot of products!!! I was so impressed how clean the store was The store was pretty big and was very clean! I was able to get what I needed. This isn't international mart. They just have a lot of REAL Korean stuff! It's like the E mart in NN but cleaner and more organized! I've heard good things about their cabbages if you make your own kimchi at home:) I heard that it's very fresh!:) Hope you get to visit Uncles Farm Korean Mart when you have a chance. It's a small local business and I support them

Uncle's Farm is the newest addition to the Newport News Korean Grocery scene. Warwick Blvd., in particular, has been the home to a number of them - past, present, and probably future, as well. It was an impromptu visit that worked out all the same. The strip mall is new as is Uncle's Farm. As I drove by, the name caught my eye. Initially, I wondered if it was a farmer's market of some kind, but after further review, there was no mistaking that it was a Korean grocery store - there were a number of pictures and Korean characters on the window that immediately give it away. The door was open just enough to give passers-by a peak inside, as well. The store is new and super clean. There are the ubiquitous Korean items - rice, kimchi, fresh veggies, and so on. I was in the market for rice and settled on a Korean Brand, Khee Chun; it was less than $13.00 - a bargain, in my opinion. Also, purchased a large bottle of Korean Citron Tea. It looks like marmalade, but a dollop mixed in hot water make a tasty hot drink. Of course, I plan to make some citron tea, but truth be known, it makes a mean mixed drink as well. For my Japanophiles, it's a Yuzu jam.For all of you who want to venture into Uncle's Farm, info is written mostly in Korean. I don't read Korean well, but know enough about Korean food and its preparation. The clerk/owner is very helpful and can help you with any questions you might have. Loved Uncle's Farm and hope to pay them another visit soon. I only wish they would have set up shop on the Southside.

Uncle's Farm is my go-to place for meat and fish cakes! Everything is expertly cut in-store by the husband of the husband-wife owner pair and they are willing to do custom orders if you give them some time to get it done and pay for the meat upfront. I like saving up for an entire brisket hand-cut to order and from there I have delicious beef for months! Even better, as this is a KOREAN grocery he never bats an eye at the idea of very thin slices which means as long as Uncle's Farm is around I will never have to hand-cut steak for phillies, bulgogi, or fajitas ever again. The vegetables vary in price depending on season, but I have never gotten anything bruised or questionable from them. I feel that besides the meat, dry goods are where Uncle's Farm really shines. They always get fresh rice at every harvest which makes the entire store smell terrific! I always bring home a huge bag or two for very cheap and enjoy excellent quality rice until next harvest. The noodles and seaweed are never broken or stale, the teas are fresh and tasty, and there's a great variety of sauces and soups to pick from all at reasonable prices. There is also a small housewares section with an assortment of strainers, dishes, cleaning products and rice cookers, however, I feel that other stores like Sun World outshine them when it comes to most of this so Uncle's Farm is typically where I look for housewares when everywhere else failed. It's like finding your keys under the couch cushion: what you need is always where you look last! That said, their housewares (except for strainers) are typically on the "economy" end with the strainers being high quality on average. If you want good meat with a side of tasty rice, go here! You won't regret it!

My mom wanted to cook us a nice Korean dinner, so we stopped in for some cuisine specific ingredients. We got about a pound and a half of bulgogi meat, and my mom is really happy with the quality, cut and taste (relief...I'd told her this place was good). The lady at the front said the meat is delivered fresh, and then they lightly freeze it to make it easier to slice (bulgogi meat is paper thin). She recommended eating it right away, or she said we could marinate it and it would keep for a couple of days...don't refreeze, though.Definitely still think this place is great! Clean, well-organized, and super friendly.

I love this place. Lady is always so nice to me, they do not have as much variety as Emart down the street, but they have Core essentials that I need to cook up all my Korean dishes and extra things on the side from cookware to Chopsticks.
