Uncle Russ' Dockside Seafood Market

This was my first time at Uncle Russ Dockside Seafood Market and will not be my last!! I was greeted with a great big, beautiful smile and friendly service from Kaiya! She was super friendly, helpful and knew her thing! Also, I had the pleasure of meeting "Uncle Russ" and he was super nice and friendly too! The entire staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful!The restaurant was super clean and filled with good delicious seafood aromas. The prices were great and the foods were cooked to perfection! Our family enjoyed every bite!!YES!!! I do recommend them to my family, friends, friends of friends and, NOW, the World!! Check hem out!!

Stopped to pick up seafood for dinner. Fresh seafood was perfect for our family gathering.

Large portions of perfectly cooked seafood for a very reasonable cost. We had lunch portions that included the calamari, scallops, shrimp, onion rings, and hush puppy. Items appeared to be hand breaded, and all was fresh. The fried scallops were among the best I've had. Delicate breading, stayed on the scallops without overpowering them. The onion ring batter I thought was a tad salty but the hush puppies were perfect. Crispy with tender center. We could have skipped the crab dip. Wasn't super crabby and it could have been better. But the main courses of the actual seafood were 2 thumbs up and we'll return for that. Friendly folks and a small seating area.

This place came highly recommended by the late Chef John Gonzales who ran A Chef's Kitchen. Chef John had a reputation for locating quality ingredients and then passing that knowledge on to his patrons. What I learned from Chef John is that Uncle Russ' offers fresh seafood and does not use sodium tripolyphosphate to artificially increase the weight to bring a higher price.We have purchased scallops from Uncle Russ' and we're not disappointed. The prices are little higher but you get what you pay for in this case. Quality.

Love this tucked away place! Waiting for fish and chips lunch and fresh lobster arrives. Next time lobsters.

My cousin and sister rave on & on about Uncle Russ dockside seafood. Decided to check them out. Located in a tuck away strip section sits Uncle Russ Dockside Seafood Market on Olde Towne Road near Longhill Rd in Williamsburg. Minutes from Williamsburg Premium Outlets.There is several local eateries lined up next to each other. The sammich shop and Corey's Kitchen are these businesses. There are a few parking spots with a 5 minute wait slot. Once inside, very nautical theme restaurant. The strong smell of seafood makes you're mouth water. Order the dinner plates, 2 entrees ( crab balls & scallops) 2 sides, fried pickles and homemade cut fries. Mom got the fried catfish, homemade fries, and coleslaw. 20 mins later we got our food. Piping hot! My food was extremely good, however, they were skimpy on the fries. I CAN count how many I had. They put the special Uncle Russ dry seasoning on the fries. That's really good seasoning. Mom enjoyed her food especially the coleslaw. They do sells fresh fresh by the pound here. Didn't eat all my food.I'll definitely go back

Loved this local place. Cozy on inside but the food was delish! Owner was kind and fun to talk with and we enjoyed crab dip, the fish and chips special, their collard greens and their home made tarter sauce and onion ring sauce. The oysters were so delicious and had a briny and sweet flavor, lemon juice and hot sauce were not used. Flavor was amazing. And the owner hooked us up with an oyster farm owner and we got to experience the farming process. Absolutely amazing experience.

We were looking for blue crabs but they didn't have them yet because too early of the season. Figured we checkout their menu and thank god we did. This place surprised us! We ordered two sandwiches to go and they were still good when we got back to the resort. I had the Cod Fish Sandwich, tasty cod on butter toasted bread and hubby opted for Clam Belly Po'Boy Sandwich, it was delicious.

This neighborhood fish market is a great find. We are new to Williamsburg and have tried fish and chips at various restaurants. This place so far is at the top of our list. Looking forward to using them often for all our fish/seafood needs. Very nice staff as well.

This place is a hidden jewel for fresh seafood. If you want fresh seafood from a place that stands behind their product, then this is the place for you.
